10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The last LEGO spin on a Castle theme was nexo. If you translate the roles to a regular Castle theme without the sci-fi/tech, it did fill some basic roles like king, queen, jester, 5 different types of knights (one being princess) , a smith , a cook, a wizard and a wizard apprentice, and squires, and a lot of unnamed castle/king's guard. Gives about a basic idea what a really big set could have & more.- 2,976 replies

I think the focus seems to be to keep a proper color schemes on the alternate builds, since this is a rather colorful ship, getting a brown hut alternate build still seems decent.
-
Looks pretty good , and a House and a Fenrir was pretty much within expectations of alternate builds.
-
Actually, only the 2020 Pirate Ship was increased to €120, Castle is still €100.
-
At that price point, I really do hope for a good focus on horses/saddles and figures. As far as Lion Faction, likely the original Crusaders/Lion Knights, which were time appropriate with the recent uses of Black Falcons of the same period (1984-1992) Also Crusaders were featured in the 2016 Classic Knight promotion (basicly a modern remake of a 1986 set, and a special Crusader big shield was in the Build-a-Minifig parts at one point around 2020) A set like the 2021 Daily Bugle had 25 figures, so maybe LEGO will add some more figures here from other factions as well, Black Knights, Wolfpack, Forestmen , or maybe a remake of the Glow in the Dark Ghost.

A big Castle set for sure would be my favorite choice, I really do hope it has multiple horses with saddles, and/or horse armor. My personal favorite Lion Faction are the 1995 Royal Knights but the original Crusaders/Lion Knights (1984-1991) would be a lot more time-appropriate considering the recent appearances or Black Falcons (1984-1992) , 3-in-1 Castle and Blacksmith are still available. Crusaders also got an appearance in 2016 Classic Knight promotion.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
TeriXeri replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wouldn't surprise me if LEGO re-uses those viking "shields" in the upcoming 3-in-1 set instead of printed actual shields. -
Friends and City have multiple cross-references, here are some examples from just 2019-2022: Friends 41429: Heartlake City Airplane has LCI (LEGO City International?) as destination. City 60262: Passenger Airplane has HLC (Heart Lake City) as destination. 40518: High-Speed Train says LCC - HLC as destinations which is likely LEGO City Central - Heart Lake Central train stations, not a minifig set but still both cities mentioned in 1 set. City 60350: Lunar Research Base has this tile included (also was in Assembly Square which is a minifig set) :

Time to rename Technic bricks?
TeriXeri replied to Tube Map Central's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think a new name would change much, a 2022 1x4 brick with 3 holes is still a Technic brick, and still compatible with technic set designs going back to 1977. While Technic sets might never had this color of 2020-2022 brick in a set, it's still a Technic design from dating back 1977. Technic is all over System sets these days (both studs and studless can be in the same sets) but still uses pins, axles, gear etc that are still seen in Technic sets. Technic Bricks still use the same holes as they always have to fit those Technic pins. In 2022 sets, like the Friends Main Street, or Ninjago Dojo, Technic pins in Technic Bricks of various types are used to connect several sections together in non-permanent ways so it's easy to change a layout. "System" is also something that has not been on boxes for 2 decades now, I think the last time the System logo was used was 1999. -
Minidolls look so weird on horses, even the ones made for them, I know the reason minidoll horses do have the 2x2 gap as 1x2 won't fit feet or a dress, but due to their longer, thinner legs it looks weird compared to a minifig in the same standing up pose. That said, the minidoll horses have improved designs over the years, especially recently, a lot more colors , prints and dual moulds, and the addition of a moveable head in 2021. The price of those minidoll horses is crazy however, on the new Pick a Brick , over €12 and that's without the back brick or saddle.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Green crocodile is about €2,66 complete on the Dutch revised pick a brick (bricks and pieces is removed), but then if you just order that and nothing else, you still get +€6 service fee under €12, and then +€6 shipping fee under €55 , not exactly cheap if you just want some animals from the new PAB. That said, the croc itself is cheap compared to other animals: Lioness - €8,53 Male Lion - €11,11 both variants Baby Elephant - €7,67 Reindeer - €8,94 Eagle- €5,88 -

My bad, the "Service cost" thing talks about shipping, but yes if you actually add to bag it's just like a regular order. -

Edit, ok nevermind, if you actually order, you still get the €55 shipping threshold, that's pretty bad. -
I don't think Ninjago and Monkie Kid will do an official Crossover. China and Japan don't have a very favorable view of eachother, and I don't think LEGO wants to stir that up by mixing the themes officially.

Xtra sold some weird products like cardboard roads and road tape but I don't see any indication of the current City road system changing anytime soon. Road Baseplates were removed in favor of this new system and LEGO has already shown they can be used in other colors, so they have a lot of potential, including as terrain, docks, train platform etc.
-
Currently very few Xtra sets listed on the EU store website, and most of them are -20% off on the US store. Even the recent 2021 Food has an official retirement date of 31-december 2021 on Brickset. Other things I could think of would be a re-release with different packaging like Classic Baseplates, or the changes/expansion of the Pick a Brick/Bricks and Pieces/Build a Minifigure website/warehouse.

Seeing the modularity of the 2022 Space sets, and remembering the 2019 space sets really makes me want to try a modular MOD of the monkie kid galactic explorer at some point, and maybe move the moon cake factory into it's own module of the City moon base. Using modules from the 2020 City Underwater base (which suprisingly is still available), could make some cool version of an underwater/passenger version of the Galactic Explorer as well as Yellow would fit with the design. Space Police ships have been modular before as well. Galactic Mediator/Enforcer/Peacekeeper also fits with the Galactic Explorer namesake (beside Galaxy Explorer) Right now, the Galactic Explorer is a great set on it's own but has a lot of potential for custom modules due to it's size. Won't be a short-term build for me but just throwing the idea out there.

Modularity of that space station is great, and it uses the same connectors as the 2019 system, it doesn't have a T-section but still can be combined with the 2019 sets to expand it, and the 2022 Moon base as well. The 2020 Ocean base also must be a good seller as it's still being sold while the rest of that theme is retired. Also the new cockpit piece can mean the space station can become a spaceship on it's own or serve as some sort of statis chamber / space police prison or whatever for Sci-Fi builds. 2019 also had spaceship parts that could connect to other rockets / space station but personally I like the new cockpit shape/color better. -

The alternate from 31124: Super Robot has a lot of Warcraft dragon whelp shaping to it, proportion wise (picked the mechanical one as example due to color scheme) -
There are 3x Sticker 20 used on the 2x4 darkgrey slopes of the launch tower.

I like the trend LEGO started a bit back and continues, with the extra hairpieces for all the space people that have helmets.\ Also the more brick-built backpacks are a nice variant to the old ones. -
Training centre is a great add-on set. The spinner is a bit unneed (raises the price) but on the other hand it adds a play feature (with the slide) The gate/arch being 6 wide makes it a bit more significant add on compared to if it were some thin 4 wide build. The gate with the lanterns probably will connect to the broken wall section on the left side of dojo as it has pin holes there. Most of all, the color scheme of the parts is very decent, no weird colors.
