LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Brickmerge / Jedijacpenguin , set LEGO® Classic 11027 €19,99 -
IDEAS Blacksmith just had a big price increase in Europe to €180, after being €150. 2021 it launched at €170 in some countries, then was standardized to a €150 (Germany) price and now increased to €180. But so far the semi-exclusive 31120 3-in-1 Castle stayed at €100 and not €120 (LEGO.com price) As far as future sets go, I don't expect that much short-term, maybe some small-mid size could fit in somewhere in icons or 3-in-1, and even then that would feel as a surprise, until other things retire.
-
No idea what LEGO's thoughts behind the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship are, first it's €100 for 2 years, then increases to €120 in January, and now €130 in September. Now, it's nice there's a Pirates set on shelves for 3+ years, but with Barracuda Bay retiring fairly quick and being sold out for a few months before retiring, this just seems more weird.
-
Instead of making new topic, it's September 1st now, and the next big adjustment of price changes hit Europe. In this case it's all increases, some which reverted some of the decreases that happened january 1st. This list seems fairly accurate to what I see at LEGO.com : https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-preiserhoehung-september-2022/

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Classic will have a €20 Neon themed set come out but as learned from the transparent set a few years ago, sceptic until pictures. I think that Classic set is pretty nice, also has a fair amount of parts in the same colors by limiting the overall color scheme a bit, and the focus is on some very bright things like vibrant yellow and coral, and some transparent yellow is nice. Next year Classic will have a €20 "Creative Neon" themed set come out but colors known as Neon previously mainly were transparent. While the return of neon orange would be nice for sure, I'll wait for pictures before jumping to conclusions on it (2021 had a transparent themed set, while a cool set, less then half the parts were transparent) -
LEGO Creator 2022 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TeriXeri's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have not built it yet, but I do think it's a good set, even as parts, quite a few normal bricks in 2 rare colors (olive and light nougat) I do think this is comparable to the 2016 31050: Corner Deli in layout, which also was on a 18x18 area with a corner section/hinge option. The stair takes a bit of the interior space but so did the balcony in the deli set. It's nice LEGO continues the technic pin system for these, even tho it might not have been consistent during some years, I do think this should be fairly compatible with the 2020 toy shop, 2019 pet shop , and can be made compatible with the 2016 corner deli by moving the pin holes to the correct places. Even while Friends and even City have gotten a few more buildings recently, those 3-in-1 buildings still feel somewhat different, more classic, brick-building, and less pillar/panel building. I do hope those 3-in-1 buildings will continue. For 2023 I don't really know what to expect, the main subjects of retiring are some recurring subthemes (Space, Fairground, Tree House, and Outdoor/Camping). But beside the White Rabbit (2023 is Year of the Rabbit, like the 2022 had the Tiger set), the other sets look again to be March releases so might be a little while for info. -
I wonder if the sets are split up again like last year, 3 spinners and the Training Ground were released in March, but also retiring the fastest at the end of this year, there are 3 sets named Nya, Cole, Zane "gimmick" so probably those small €10 sized sets we see regularly. The 2022 spinners have some cool figs but very few pieces in comparison to earlier years, especially 2019, even tho the system does work well with the ripcord and being enclosed. (Zane spinner was in the training center)

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't think purchase limit increases would signal bad sales, but rather bigger supply of sets being made after the initial launch peak, I think this set will be around for years to come (3+ years at least), as it's not tied to a license, or IDEAS, they can keep it around if it sells. Currently also have not seen any signs of this set appearing outside of LEGO's own shops.- 2,976 replies

The "outlines" on the top of the towers really make it stand out.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Currently 10270: Bookshop has a 31 december 2022 retirement date on the Brickset site. Usually sets might be sold a little bit beyond that date if there's still remaining stock but I do think it's a sign of what's the first modular to retire next. -
Since there's literally a screen with the ship shooting asteroids, the forward part being cannons make sense, for exploration. That printed tile could of course mean multiple things, like a simulation, or video game, or easter egg etc. But Classic Space is open-ended enough to not be tied to a big pre-defined story. Even the recent City 2022 Space Missions sets has 2 buildable comets/asteroids. (blue sparkly bits likely being water/ice so comets more then anything)

Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Certainly a lot of interesting potential here. Emergency Vehicle Headquarters sounds interesting, as if it's like a Garage , with parking space road plates, Headquarters should focus on a building , but there could be a good ambulance type vehicle in that budget too. Police Station Breakout and Academy sound like they could be extensions to the 2022 Police Station, so I hope the Police Academy would be something that would fit in the rear of the parking space there, and the breakout section being an extenstion of the Prison yard. The Fire Station might be another garage extension to the 2022 Fire Station as well as that set introduced a system where the garage can be seperated from the main building with technic pins on both sides. A lot of vehicle sets of course but there looks to be a lot of choice in various price ranges, and not just put into big €100 sets. Hopefully not too much of it is 4+. -
Not having a "complete" model is entirely the point of the type of set as they mention those parts are put in the box for scenarios (app). The official image shows what's pretty much leftover after the app builds are done / I'd still prefer if there was a PDF or something for the base-builds instead of using the app, but I don't think the app ruins the purpose of the type of set. I think it makes good use of the parts budget, multiple types of Flames, Wings, Rocket boosters etc are rare to get in a normal small set in this amount.

That sandwich shop looks like a Gift With Purchase set number, like the current DOTS pencil shaped pencil holder , and Forest Hideout set numbers recently. -

TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I hope the police station and fire station smaller sets are extensions to the 2022 sets . The 2022 fire station did have pins to attach to the side of the garage after all, and hopefully the Police set is an extension of the prison yard (breakout sounds like a prison obviously) -
Love that tree "tunnel" build, 40567 certainly is versatile as a parts pack.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm the opposite, 1995 Drawbridge was my only big Castle, but I don't think I would put a big tower in front of 10305 in this case, but a longer bridge would help more with the suggestion of castle being surrounded by water or at least a river. Not that water would stop Forestmen, as seen by their River Fortress or Crossing, and their widely used whips/vines to swing from trees, 10305 might be Siege proof, but the secret caves are a nice touch that it's not invulnerable. Surprisingly no whip pieces in either the Castle or Forestmen Hideout.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
A seperate ramp/bridge house in front of the actual Castle's drawbridge, reminds me of how the 1995 Royal Drawbridge set was sold seperate from the 1995 Royal Castle. Last year, almost exactly 1 year ago, I made a quick alternate build of 31120 (mainly inspired by 7079: Drawbridge Defense) This was long before 10305 was known, but the idea is still the same, a seperate bridge that could fit in front of the castle. Of course for 10305 it'd likely be styled a bit differently, and maybe I would not put a big tower in front of an already big tower.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Rarely, usually it's to get rid of older remaining sets (currently that means some old Vidyo / Brick Sketches/ Brickheadz for old stock) However as recently as this week, the FC Barcelona Stadium and Queer Eye reached 40% off recently , so perhaps weren't that great sellers. I don't think a sale on 10305 is likely anytime soon however. Even the Creator Castle 31120 (currently on Backorder in Europe ) has not even made it to any major online retailer in my country after more then a year, while the new Viking Ship and still available Pirate Ship both had much wider releases (and both those sets also are priced at €120 while Castle remained at €100 so it seems discounts are taken in account there)- 2,976 replies

1 is still 1 point based on the Danish Krona, but the rest were adjusted for local currency values, ranging from 8 for UK, to 0.30 for Czech Koruna, and in a special case, Hungary where it's 100 Forint for 2 points. Vouchers are also different in other areas, so in UK, you spend 800 points for 5 pounds discount, but Hungary, you need 600 points for 1500FT discount, and a set like UCS AT-AT is priced ~289.000 there (which in return would gain you ~5800 VIP points back (rounded to even numbers) However, since then, currency values have fluctuated a lot, so it's still never going to be accurate. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/service/help/lego_vip/lego_vip/what-are-lego-vip-points-worth-kA009000001dbuZCAQ Would be nice if you could do a single "redeem all" for a nearly spending all points without needing to be at 650/750/800 point gaps (UK / EU / US) as examples.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I do hope the Horse Transport set will mean City will expand a bit into at least 1 more horse riding set. Even if the 2022 set basicly has all the similar design of the 2009 set. -
Speaking of space bathrooms, at least 10497 does have quite a few of parts for sliding doors. City is catching up to Friends. City 2021 House Family House has a toilet. City 2022 Police Bank has a toilet behind a breakable ATM wall. City 2022 Police Station has a breakable prison toilet, so you can see inside the drain pipe City 2022 Hospital has a Bathroom corner. City 2022 Train Station has a mobile toilet.

yes, 50% larger in 1 direction, but if you take both width and length it's 2.25x larger total area, like going from 32x32 (4 16x16) to 48x48 (9 16x16) basicly.

That's a very nice 50% scaled up platform and moon crater/base indeed. It helps that the 48x48 baseplates are already light bley of course.

Usually those very big sets are exclusive, mainly to LEGO themselves, or rarely to another retailer, but discounts are almost non-existent or other shops might even charge higher then LEGO themselves. As seen with sets like Diagon Alley, or Disney Castle in the past. (based on online retailers only, for my country at least, not including Ebay/Bricklink sales either) So it's not just simply a case of if this would be a "if this would be a €250 set they could sell 2x as many and make the same money" . Sure, a €200-€250 set isn't small by any means, but I've seen a ~15% retail discount margin happen a lot more often on those. Bigger might also draw in a certain different collector crowd, not as a LEGO train but as a big 1 meter++ model. It'll be interesting to see how LEGO would design another hogwarts express train to run on rails, I don't think it's a question of if, but when the 2018 train will be succeeded as long as Harry Potter is a running theme, which is likely for at least 3-4 years, seeing how long sets are being sold, the theme seems healthy and a big hitter. I do think there could definately be another dedicated train set for the AFOL crowd however, Crocodile retired almost a year ago.
