LEGO Hidden Side 2020
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
NL Magazine version gets El Fuego 6-2-20 After Jack , Parker, Pizza guy in 2019. -
Also I wonder how the Pirate Bay will end up, as it uses several ship parts in the design, if the design is coordinated, both sets could be a great combination for Pirates Ship/Island builds.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
We'll see how the €100 Airport set turns out. They say it has a building as well with using some rollercoaster track roof. And a red car that can be loaded via ramp at the back of the airplane. But of course a 7+ airport terminal focused set would be nice. Friends is also getting a €70 Airplane, wonder how that turns out, I wonder if that means that Friends and Minifig themes are getting more overlap on shelves. Friends Airplane in the same year as City 2020. Friends Underwater Rescue 2019 should still be on shelves when 2020 City Sea Research comes out, 2019 also had City Diving Yacht, and 3-in-1 Deepsea creatures/Underwater Robot. Friends theme park sets on shelves alongside Creator 3-in-1 themepark sets in 2019. (2018 Pirate Roller Coaster just retired however) Maybe just coincidence but interesting. -
No back printing makes them different from the version found in sets. BAM torso has a Year of the Rat specific printing.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
2018 Juniors had a €50 Airport set (which just retired in December 2019) and it turned out like this. I don't think this is a bad playset, and certainly could still add to a larger airport. I never bought it, but I do like the bagage handling section/cart and figures/accesoires. -
Should LEGO Bring Back Raised Base Plates
TeriXeri replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Seeing modern sets like Chima Lion Chi Temple, , Ninjago The Lighthouse Siege, Nexo Knights Jestro's Volcano Lair, sets like that still did really well with brick-built design upwards without baseplates. All those sets are fairly open on the backside but for a playset I don't think that's bad, they still have good looking sides and won't cost €200 by going fully enclosed. So using BURPS where needed is fine, that started in 1992 with Wolfpack Tower but now more different shapes and sizes and colors are available. They also provide hollow space for some features. -
I'm not questioning the existence of the boardgame itself, but rather wonder how much the mech set would be a part of it, that's all Anyhow I see this is the Pirate section so not going too off topic.

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
TeriXeri replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I never like it when they use fleshie figures in IDEAS when it's not a Licensed idea. (it makes sense for the Tolkien one but the 3 below there seem not licensed) Of course LEGO can/will change it if it makes it up there, but it doesn't feel right.- 532 replies

Regardless of the Boardgame being real or not, putting a small piece of a boardgame in a big mech set would just be a bad move imo.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Page to Trademarks : https://www.trademarkia.com/ctm/ctm-company-lego-juris-as-206059-page-1-2 I'll still stick with how I think this logo looks a lot like Dragon Ball I just use those Z / Super logos, as the way it's written/colored is similar with the red/yellow. Also those elements: Staff that changes size : https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Power_Pole Yellow Cloud seen in Dragon Ball : https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Flying_Nimbus I'm not saying that it would be anything at all related to Dragon Ball itself, which is an adapted version of the Journey to the West already: https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Ball_(manga)#Relation_to_Journey_to_the_West But this all is pure speculation, from the name/logo/Monkey King story origins etc. -
Well, we don't really know what it is yet, but I still think the logo has a very likeness to Dragon Ball in font and color and the yellow cloud (Nimbus). But I'll discuss that in the proper topic.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The last Castle set I got was in 2017 with Nexo Knights, I didn't collect Ninjago or Elves, and Monster Fighters was before my return to LEGO so this set is on my list right now. Even if looking outside the Hidden Side theme, the Stone/Lightning Monsters never got a castle in Nexo Knights so even if it's not 100% my kind of set, perhaps could restyle it later on , but that's early wishful thinking. I do hope the Prison uses a similar color scheme as the Castle as well (not that it's known but grey/darkgrey walls would be nice) , would also fit with the grey stone colors in the Graveyard. -

2020 Creator Sets - Rumours & Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ship looked decently sized, can't wait to see the alternate builds and details for all the Creator sets for that matter. Also how they'd compare to the 2017 Space Shuttle/Rover/Base and 2016 Camper/Boat/House sets. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

I still find it interesting for exploring stories that might not be known much in the West. (beside adaptations like Dragon Ball and such) As long as the sets are good, I don't mind a fresh take on a Fantasy/Historic theme not based on vehicles/mechs for once (Elves did that but the last new sets were almost 2 years ago) -

Hope we'll get a horse, since "White Dragon Horse" is one of the main characters in Journey to the West. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Dragon_Horse -
Sounds nice. was introduced in Divers back in 1997, would be interesting to see a new version for sure. 1997 also introduced the original (old) sawfish. Hammerhead is also interesting, I assume it's just a different head part like the sawfish but still another shark type is nice

I mostly meant the difference was 4 cannons in a straight row on the sides. I see the actual set came with 4. I see the other ships have gun ports at different locations.
-
The Pirate Roller Coaster set had a brick-built parrot, but the cannon was just a regular Cannon. I'd be sad if they call it Pirate Ship, with minifigures included and have no useable cannon(s). Interesting thing also, that the 2019 Creator Petshop/Cafe had 2 white parrots (as statues), but a single-color is likely easier to include then a dual-moulded/printed one, and the blue/yellow parrots are in Xtra right now. But anyway, I'll wait for actual pictures

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I edited my post since I stumbled on a completely different castle in an official artwork, so I really don't know what to expect. Also on the official website they kind of hint at 3 seasons with the "color" wheel , Season 1 , Season 2, and greyed out (Lady E?) ghost button. https://www.lego.com/en-us/campaigns/kids/hidden-side/app Of course that doesn't have to mean much but found it interesting. -

Even something like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Proctor (Lousiana, near New Orleans) could be cool, at least that won't be some stylized luxury villa type building but an actual fort, and it's abandoned. It even says this : In the 1940s and 1950s, before it was engulfed by Lake Borgne, the ruins of the fort were a popular gathering place for teenagers seeking a spot where they would not be supervised. But I rather just have it based on an original LEGO design, not everything needs to be based on real-life, especially in a ghost theme. And then I found this : https://www.lego.com/en-us/campaigns/kids/hidden-side (link page goes to daytime version of this pic below) There's a Castle in the back of this artwork. -
Agreed, it even had some references to a blend of a few older Pirates sets in those structures . Cannon was also used in 3 2019 sets , including a 4+ one. Useable cannons would also add so much more to the alternate builds. Most LEGO Pirate Ships have had 2 masts and 2 cannons on each side. I still think at the very least they add a single cannon on a rotating platform, but I do hope for multiple. I don't know if the article compared the size with Imperial Flagship, as that's the big exception having 3 masts so this set would be smaller indeed. As for Pirate Ship sets, the 1993 Ship (6286: Skull's Eye Schooner) was also a notable exception and also a larger ship for it's time with 8 cannons.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Same here, I did pick up the 3-in-1 Shark & Underwater Robot sets, and City Diving Yacht last year. (I had this set way back from 1997, still have it mostly built but I keep old LEGO seperate) That theme just had so many nice underwater scenes. -

I do hope they won't make the same mistake as 2015 and put a large airplane or something in the Base set. An Airplane doesn't add much to an underwater theme imo, the helicopter could still transport the cage / submarine / drone, but an airplane taking a lot of budget from an underwater base just inflated the price. -
So, what are Leaf, IP-2 and Zebra?
TeriXeri replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Goku is certainly is based on Journey to the West : https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Ball_(manga)#Relation_to_Journey_to_the_West Also this is called Monkey "Kid" and he was a kid in the first series. He even uses a staff that can change size in the original Dragon Ball series and flies on a cloud , and he still has his tail back then as well :
