  1. Those cubes are getting better for sure , cute little vignettes/scenes or little shops. I also like the Magazine gifts as well, the newest one being a Hot Dog Stand (yes I know sounds famililar) but I think it's really nice for what it is. I must say I haven't actually bought a Friends set yet (beside some cardboard playmats), but the theme is growing on me in a positive way.
  2. I know it wasn't the standard Police wave at all, not even compared to subthemes like Forest/Swamp/Mountain, the Prison was a lot larger, that's why I suggest something similar to come back, with focus on prison and water-side. Not for 2020 but in 2021 it'd be 5 years since any larger waterside Police set. (2018 had 1 small river boat but that's all since 2016) I'd think 5 year is reasonable to ask for another Prison set Right now the 2016 Prison Island is offered for €170-200 (New/Sealed, before shipping cost), so it must still be in demand. That said, Hidden Side also has a Prison set so maybe that could still be useful before 2021.
  3. I also prefer those more angled shapes over the round ones when it comes to Space Police. Nexo Knights came closer to that in recent times with the cockpit pieces it used, while not the exact same shape (more triangular) it still looks very retro compared to rounded windshields. Also the "space type wheels" helped giving it a more retro look on most land vehicles. I hope they someday relaunch this part with the newer bar/clip connection :
  4. I still hope for a Dockside/Harbour Police station, maybe a very small wave like the 2016 Prison Island theme, that's been the only subtheme lacking right now for Police on shelves right now, some boat/dock. Designed more like the 2019 Fire station. Even if it's not strict police but like a Pilot boat it'd be ok
  5. I'd say this dragon also was pretty nice but I also like the catapult and sidebuild which could almost fit into medieval times. 70593: The Green NRG Dragon
  6. Airport People Pack could certainly work , with figures such as : Airline Pilot / Captain Stewardess Check-in staff with small desk Cargo handler Mechanic Passengers Security Guard Small Food stall Air Traffic Controller with small radar (2x2 printed slope) build
  7. Still have the old sets as well, not complete at this point (some missing, some broken, like palm leaves), but the figures are still there, and most animals like sharks, parrots, monkeys and crocodile. But I keep them seperate from my modern LEGO.
  8. While true that it brings unique figure types, doesn't take away that the system is terrible if you don't have access to the physical product. Literally no stores here ever have them on shelves, so "feeling" isn't an option to bypass the random factor. Would I buy them if they weren't random ? Yes, I'd even pay extra (but not via secondary sellers)
  9. Tree House took 9 months from Approved to Reveal. So far it's been almost 5 months since The Pirate Bay was approved. I really would love to see the final design soon
  10. I do hope the Blind Bag system aren't CMF, but rather something that adds to the theme, instead of being the only way to get certain figures/characters. As the set numbers are part of the main line, I think it's more like what they had with Nexo Powers or DOTS :
  11. I would've added CMF to the list, but for that theme it's the Blind Bag system I dislike.
  12. While LEGO MOVIE 1 Spaceship sets existed during 2014/2015, and LEGO MOVIE sets in 2019 but soon are fully retired, I wonder what the future holds now that SW Episode 9 is out. LEGO MOVIE 2 sets especially retired very fast, for being a 2019 theme that's far less then the typical 1-1.5 years. Personally I still consider LEGO MOVIE themes Special Themes rather then Space themes, even while Movie 2 certainly had 6 actual Space Ship sets and more space-type sets like Space Squad / Workshop / Space Palace Pop-Up Party Bus Sweet Mayhem's Systar Starship! Rex's Rexplorer! The Rexcelsior! Wyld-Mayhem Star Fighter Emmet's Dream House/Rescue Rocket!
  13. Those themes could end right now and I wouldn't mind: Star Wars Disney Harry Potter Marvel / DC Superheroes Minecraft Overwatch Jurassic World Brickheadz Architecture There's more then that but at that point it'd just be a list of everything but a few themes I actually buy.
  14. I think the small MEGA dragon looks too much like an action figure, too specialized. But also think the large one still looks okay and is very posable compared to a static statue (seen the Jangbricks review on it) , so it's also by far not the worst dragon design. MEGA does do nice marbled pieces and almost no stickers but I can't speak from experience. Firstbourne certainly looks great, I like that style of build a lot more then some of those too pre-moulded LEGO dragons out there. But even with pre-moulded heads, I also prefer the Elves designs over the "Smaug" and "Bionicle" style designs. One of the other amazing LEGO Dragon designs I've seen more recently is this , and since it's an alternate build, it's even more impressive, by @grohl
  15. I'm fine with the new scale existing, and a truck could certainly look impressive at that new scale. Wasn't trying to kill your idea, just imagining how big it'd be. Red Bull F1 in LEGO form would be a nice color scheme for sure as well, especially on a huge truck. And yes, the open car-transporter was a bad idea for F1, but could still work for other Speed Champion Cars. This was 11 year back, imagine the details with newer parts : https://brickset.com/sets/6753-1/Highway-Transport
  16. Certainly not a shortage of "mechs" on the current LEGO product line. Just for 2019/2020 alone I see 20+ Mech sets. Marvel, Ninjago , Overwatch, DC and a Jurassic T-Rex mech, and that's not counting 2018 sets or 2019 Lego Movie 2. https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Mech 3-in-1 Underwater Robot could also count as a mech but isn't tagged. At least 2 more unreleased mechs with the Fire/Stone mech in Ninjago and Venom/Iron-man crawler sets. As for Monkey Kid, I hope if they do big animal builds, it's more an animal look, and not a real mech-look, moveable arms/legs/wings doesn't automaticly have to have a mech look to it. For example this left one looks like an actual beast (literally called Legend Beast), while the others look like a mech / jet / motorcycle, still based on the same Animal. And my prefered look would certainly be the left version for Monkey Kid, animals used as mounts rather then vehicles. Elves' dragons and large animals didn't look like mechs either.
  17. A truck would have to be pretty huge to fit the newer scale cars, the old one had 8-wide interior, new would need at least 9-10 stud-interior (if the Formula-E is an indication how the wheels go beyond 8 wide there). Unless they end up with a more open type of Car Transporter of course, they can use railings or something for the sides then. But it certainly would be cool to see.
  18. Part of the reason I don't get into Licensed themes. And that's 100% my personal view, I'm not saying that other people can't enjoy those themes/characters/figures. Of course there are other reasons beside "fandom" for not liking Licensed themes too much, like flesh heads vs yellow. Maybe that's just part of my long-time period away from LEGO (~15 years) 2001-2016, and a different viewpoint or "Taste" for what I like about LEGO.
  19. There is zero proof to that. Just because a story is based on Asian mythology doesn't mean it's made for the Chinese market only. There are many Monkey King references via video games and tv shows, Dragon Ball probably the most known cartoon/manga adaptation, and the Logo even has similarities with that. That said, I still hope it's something different and not just another "Colored Team" theme, and the biggest sets hopefully are locations. * Colored Team , meaning needing 1 vehicle set for each character each wave (+ Hover Horse / Battle Suit etc), I think that was what was overdone with Nexo Knights, the entire theme only had 2 location sets and 2 other really small tower builds. I hope to see sets like this in a more fantasy-sense (minus the tech vehicles) Chima : Or Ninjago : Or Elves :
  20. I think that figure is nice and still far too early to make a final conclusion for an entire theme. But I can understand that it certainly looks "different" , I see it more as Fantasy then Sci-Fi, even with that helmet resembling some breathing apparatus or whatever imagined. Maybe that's just the way LEGO softens the whole concept of "demon" characters/figures, as there are literally dozens of them in the story. I'd certainly expect a Bull / Ox themed build , and that it leans toward a structure/temple, and not a wheeled vehicle, but I don't rule out a big Bull form as those characters are known to have multiple forms. But I guess I'm biased because I actually liked Nexo Knights, but still right now would favor structures. Maybe the figure is just a side-character minion, similar to how Nexo Knights had many like Ash Attacker, Stone Stomper etc. The sign on the torso does have similarlities to the Chinese sign of Bull/Ox : 牛
  21. Dark Blue indeed is a nice color, and even fits with Nexo Knights, heresy maybe , but that theme actually had villages but those never were sets
  22. There was some regional difference in release dates, at least for City 2019. Space was released early June in Europe , and late June in US. Donut Shop / Fire Chief Car / Fair People Pack etc. and some other sets came at the same time as Space in Europe, but August in the US. Advent Calendar / Ski Resort came out in September. I'd assume that the 2020 Ocean sets would fall under exploration, but the sets are kind of split half-half with Airport sets. But the situation seems to be different each year. 2018 Arctic came out at the same time in early June, while the July Trains came out in August in US.
  23. Since the first 2020 City magazine is really late here in NL (20 Feb), which has a Policeman with White Motorbike, it looks like the second one is already out in Germany, at least it was posted on Brickset: With a Fireman + mini drone. LEGO seems to love their drones in 2019/2020, but I think this small one is pretty neat.
  24. There are a lot of Animal/Creature based characters listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Journey_to_the_West_characters
