  1. Saw that vid, loved both versions of the truck, one certainly makes a great toy with the suspension and the one with regular wheels imo still fits in City scale. It's a Food truck, not a super-car, so 8-wide I can accept in this case. And Burger Monster is a thing with similar shaped vehicles , it's a real company : http://burgermonster.net/ LEGO must have made it an actual monster-truck to avoid being too similar. Alternate builds are the weakest part of the set.
  2. Still looks like a great figure to me, can't just take the full-sci-fi context yet without actual sets. Looks much better then those gaming-rats from Ninjago to me. I'd rather have this then Chima heads.
  3. I wouldn't mind that if it's balanced out with some nice series of 3-in-1 buildings. The reason I say 3-in-1 is as they can cover multiple types of shops with 1 set via alternate builds. People can always buy multiple sets to make different variations or even upscale them into "modular sized".
  4. The thing is, I don't have problem with most of the emergency vehicles, the main complaint I had was Sky Police and that large airplane that comes with that Air Base set. I just didn't like that large airplane at all, being so weirdly wide, just to hold a parachute, and I don't like those cockpit parts. But I also can understand why they put the largest airplane in the subtheme together with the control tower. I might have bought the tower + car if it were just a standalone smaller set. I know there are options of buying sections of a set via ebay and such but I like to buy sets as a new for the whole experience. And I know sets like Donut Shop, Toy Shop, Ski Resort, Capital City can only exist as those large playsets as City doesn't release buildings standalone. And I also understand those sets make great playsets for the target age range, as someone's first City set or big Birthday/Christmas gift etc.
  5. I was thinking about doing the same thing about the potential Monkey from The Pirate Bay. 2009 Pirates included a Monkey in Reddish Brown but 2015 Pirates didn't have one, so hope it at least makes a comeback for that special set. Now for nostalgia, they probably just should use Reddish Brown as the old brown discontinued, so this is just done for fun. The last Monkey that was made, was for Ninjago and that one had a Silver body, 3 Orange arms, 1 Silver arm, and Dark Brown hands, but that was an important story character (Monkey Wretch). I just used default yellow hands for keeping it simple. I do actually like Sand Blue a lot (2nd top left) , but monkey arms and hands are standard minifigure parts.
  6. Please include the horse in the Blacksmith Last time there was a Reddish Brown minifig horse was 2012. Out of interest I made a render of how it could look if they used different colors : (these do not exist right now) Dark Brown / Dark Tan / Tan / Dark Orange
  7. That sort of happened with Macy from Nexo Knights, she got the all of the smallest vehicles in the waves, and none at all in the last wave. Axl had less figures overall but some of the largest vehicles.
  8. A horse, a horse! My Kingdom for a Horse ! (Medieval Blacksmith Hype!) If the color stays similar would be the first brown-ish minifig horse since 2012 Did a render to see how they might look in never-produced colors. Dark Brown / Dark Tan / Tan / Dark Orange
  9. Ok, I was sceptic about the Blacksmith being large, but been thinking about it without the base it isn't all that huge , just tall. Still like it a lot and has a great color scheme.
  10. Trolls, Skeletons and Goblins, this might be the first time I'd get Ninjago sets. (and possibly the magazine)
  11. Yes, from my personal perspective, there are way too many vehicle sets, or buildings packed with vehicles in the same sets. While there have been a few exceptions, most City sets with any buildings have too many vehicles in them, raising the price by a lot or causing "unwanted content". Just look at sets like Capital City , I do like the Hotel, Hot-Dog Stand, Skatepark and even some of the vehicles, but buying it all in 1 package puts the price at €140. It's not even that the vehicles are bad themselves, it's that they don't sell such builds seperately (only within Creator 3-in-1 you might get such scale builds) Eventually if you would actually get such sets, over time, you'd still have many more vehicles then actual City buildings. Also would've prefered if they kept some things seperate like this : About half is about Winter-Sports , but then there are 2 emergency vehicles, a clinic and a helicopter that are "seperate" from the rest. Again, not that the vehicles are bad, they could've packed those emergency vehicles + clinic under a "winter medical" set, they had a winter helicopter recently that could go with it, just like the Snow Groomer set can go alongside the Ski theme. And while 3-in-1 does provide City-scale buildings, it highly varies what's offered from year to year. As for other themes, Nexo Knights was okay as a one-off, but in hindsight, for a theme with 50+ sets, it just had 2 major (fantastic) castles, 1 small tower, and 1 mobile castle that could fold out, the rest were vehicles/mechs/flyers. Other themes like Elves and Hidden Side do have some vehicles(or animals) but less then Nexo Knights etc had. Many of the larger vehicles (Ghost Train, School Bus, Stunt Truck were seperate from locations like Graveyard/School, and Shrimp shack only had a small buggy. There currently is no Elves like theme, and no Castle or Pirates theme either, Pirates did have ships and rowboats but still was a very location-focused theme, similar for Castle having horses, catapults , royal carriages and such. I just list in-house themes here, as licensed themes have their own focuses on things within their license, while something like Harry Potter (or even Lord of the Rings/Hobbit previously) certainly is a location-focused theme, for me it's not a replacement for a Castle theme. I only came back to LEGO in 2016 and started looking into other themes since 2019, but my favorite current theme is Creator 3-in-1 , mainly the fact that buildings are seperate from vehicles, or vehicles can actually have alternate buildings builds. Conclusion : Many City vehicles aren't bad, but rather would've seen them seperate, but I can imagine due to Shelf space that isn't viable nowadays.
  12. I It was just a random example list of how wide the range of people could be, and that list was even still short, not really putting specific forum people into boxes
  13. They released Fire Stations every 3 years ever since 2007, and the last one was 2019 so I don't think there will be a new one for at least 2 more years. I got the 2019 station and you can expand the dock with set 60213 Dock Side Fire.
  14. In case of Street Fighter , there's this miniatures Board game in development by "Angry Joe" Vargas : https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/193428/street-fighter-miniatures-game
  15. If people keep making their own definition of who is and who isn't AFOL , that isn't going to help a lot. Also there are many different types of AFOL, it's not set in stone what an AFOL set is. There is no what "we" want. AFOL A might not care about Star Wars, and love City sets. AFOL B might love Harry Potter and Minecraft, but not care about Creator AFOL C just uses Bricks & Pieces and Bricklink AFOL D just collects Pirate Ships AFOL E collects only blue torso CMF Figures AFOL F doesn't buy any sets with flesh skin-tone figures etc. And there are posts on this forum trying to shut down people's wishlists / ideas , not very useful info to LEGO if people are bickering over other people's wishes. LEGO has their own LEGO Ambassador Network site, the Embassy section on this forum was removed very recently as it wasn't used for that anymore. https://lan.lego.com/aboutus/overview/ Quoting LEGO: Today, adults around the world use LEGO bricks as a creative medium. 16. Sets with Blue 3x4 Slopes : https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=3297&in=A&v=1&oV=Y&colorID=7&srt=3&srtAsc=D Best way to look there, as 1x4 bricks have been used a lot more.
  17. I like the import set feature a lot, hopefully if they keep adding new parts, there will be less errors of "missing" things, especially non-minifigs. Just a great feature to plan alternate builds and such from existing sets before breaking them down.
  18. I think the lava design used too much red here. Also the price difference here locally (€26,99)
  19. Piano with electric components could bump up the price a lot. "Self-playing function enabled by adding PowerFunction, which allows keys to play at different tempos and rhythms." It has almost 2800 pieces default. Those 2 more recent sets came with electric components which raised the price a lot : https://brickset.com/sets/42099-1/4x4-X-Treme-Off-Roader - $249.99 (Control+) https://brickset.com/sets/10268-1/Vestas-Wind-Turbine - $199.99 (Power Functions) Both sets have less then 1000 pieces. Not saying it would "sell well" but that is something to explain a huge price bump.
  20. Based on combination of parts I'd say 9287-1 Has 10 blue 3x4 slopes, 64 red 1x4 and 72 white 1x4 But here are quantity lists of sets of each seperate part. Blue 3x4 Slopes : - Highest Quantity in 70s sets or 90s Educational https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=3297&in=A&v=1&oV=Y&colorID=7&srt=3&srtAsc=D White 1x4 : https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=3010&in=A&v=1&oV=Y&colorID=1&srt=3&srtAsc=D Red 1x4 : https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=3010&in=A&v=1&oV=Y&colorID=5&srt=3&srtAsc=D
  21. At $349.99 it would be like a 5000+ piece set, or at least 4500+ with all the figures/animals + brick-built raised section + sea plates. Still, that's be massive, considering Old Fishing Store had 2049 pieces at $149.99 / €159.99 (NL price) Tree House has 3036 pieces at $199.99 / €199.99 (NL price) , 135 of those parts were extra leaves for the color change. Assembly Square has 4002 pieces at $279.99 / €259.99 (NL price) Ninjago City had 4867 pieces at $299.99 / €329.99 (NL price) Ghostbusters (Licensed) had 4634 pieces at $349.99 / €399.99 (NL price) $199.99 / €199.99 seems more reasonable at around 2750-3000 pieces.
  22. Winter Village (2016) , Hidden Side (2019), Hogwarts Express (2018) were unmotorized, so "push-trains" do still exist actually. As for City, with how infrequent current trains are I don't see unmotorized train happening as people want a ready-to run set. I can imagine they might not put a controller in each set in the future (app controls & multi-train control on a single controller), but a motor/battery is pretty essential in City. Creator Expert trains have a higher age range and a set like Horizon Express was basicly only half a train, so selling that unmotorized made sense. There were pushtrains back in the old blue and grey rail eras but there also were a lot more trains.
  23. Cost of sets is a weird thing for sure. And it's not even always licensing. I don't understand why some in-house sets are priced as extremely high, like the 2020 Friends Hospital somehow is €60 here (379 pieces). Even the US price of $50 is still way too high for that set. Anyway, I know it's not an AFOL sets, so /rant over.
  24. If this is 45 cm long, it's barely shorter then the 2015 Brick Bounty (48 cm) Also seems to use red at the rear cabin section. There's this line that seems to run from the back to the back mast to the front mast, wonder if that's connected to the (brick built) sail at all or just decoration.
