Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

I like the smaller two sets, especially the Ayesha one. I think the new Milano is cool, but is it just me or did they forget to put something "must have" in it? I already have a version of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and a Milano (from a single set too!), I have a Nebula (original Blue color was better?), and I can get a mini Groot (in Uniform, preferred) in a smaller set that also has 2 exclusive characters. Lego usually puts something exclusive in each set but I don't know if different costumes is enough in this case. Unless I love me some Abilisk ... Anyone else feel this way? Also, is the smaller ship from the Ayesha set somthing for Groot to pilot? It's small enough for a drone, but it has a cockpit window. Why would they design a tiny ship for what will become a 7 foot tall plant man?- 5,808 replies

I like how the eyebrows become a mustache for the top face, making it look very stern and suspicious. You beat me to it! The only exception was in 2015 when they did Justice League sets (still lots of Batman). That is essentially the only year I collected. Yay! Me too! -

Looks like it to me! I think we can ... Yup, the Milano set has a naked Groot, and in the Ayesha set he is wearing a mini Ravager uniform. Okay, you figured it out later in the thread!- 5,808 replies

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

That can't be right. First, where did we get the name "Lobster Lovin' Batman"? It must have been from somewhere official. Second, that is clearly a silk robe a la Hugh Hefner, a signature of 50s wealth and luxury (i.e. a very specific garment), and not a Kimono, which is a very specific and different garment. -
I hope to do so with Bizarro (since I can't get the SDCC version!) but will wait until that set goes on clearance since its the only part of the set I want. The Doomsday is actually pretty cool, but I can't get over the fact that he should be a bigfig. I may pass entirely.

I think Harriet is amongst the least popular - so there are lost of them left behind. Pink Power is pretty popular, and so depleted. -

What you're noticing is that some figures are more popular than others. I spent just over an hour at Lego Store, found precisely one Lobster-Lovin' and one Vacation Batman in that time, because those are the most sought after ones. Found many of the others. Catman was pretty common, as were Zodiac, Harriet, Calculator, Glam Bat, Eraser, Clan of the CaveBat, Mime. These ones are less popular. Does that make sense? The distribution in the box is even, but what you find has been picked over already. -

Eagle eyed observer aren't you! I think you're right about the image you linked to. It's a strange one. It would be cool as a set because it could transform between the two identities for the structure. -
Love'm, give us more. My faves are M. Pryor and Creeper.

I meant more that would convince me that this is a genuine leak and not a good custom. The likeness is subjective, and we don't know that the movie character will look gold. I want to know where this picture comes from.- 5,808 replies

Anything you can tell me that would convince me? It's a neat looking fig, but there's nothing that ties it to GotG or Kismet at this point. Tell us more.- 5,808 replies

Also the Kiss Kiss Keychain is technically a polybag, but I don't know if it should be listed on the front page or not. As far as I know, we don't have any information besides the set number and title for the Batgirl Polybag. Well, I suppose we know it's a polybag because it's 30XXX -
We can add the Krypto polybag 30546 from the February store calendar to the front page along with the set numbers and names of the summer wave 41236 ? 41237 Batgirl's Secret Bunker 41238 Lena Luthor Kryptomite Factory 41239 Eclipso Dark Palace

The front page needs to be updated. There are many more polybags that have been announced and/or are out in the wild and have official images. Set numbers for the summer wave can be added 70913-70917 30521 Mini Batmobile (not on list, image at Brickset, so it's out there) 30522 Phantom Zone - I own this, so it's out and images available. The price is confirmed at 3.99 http://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker?sku=204-00-0090 30523 Images available 30524 Mini Batwing - Promo in Jan from Lego for $35 spend - I own this so it's out. Official lego image available from flier for example. 30607 Disco/Tears of - Promo in Feb from Lego for $75 spend. Official lego image available from flier for example. 30612 Batgirl - listed on brickset 5004929 Batman Battle Pod The Accessory pack - I own this, so it's out a images available. Promo right now in Lego stores, though somewhat contradictory reports as to whether you must complete the scavenger hunt to get one. Not sure, but wouldn't we expect that to promote the next CMF series? As in, it may have nothing at all to do with Batman? -
Thanks! But like I said, it wasn't my design. I found it and copied it! All credit to the original! The head is actually Asajj Ventress backwards!

My Netflix Defenders (Iron Fist and Luke Cage from tLG not shown) are a great example of how influential EBF has been in making these. Punisher's was posted waaay early on in this thread, Elektra is somewhere in the middle, and many iterations of Jessica Jones with that torso exist - I even saw the boots here recently. I tried to make Hellcat in Bright Light Orange like in the comics, but the torso is really hard. The Netflix Daredevil is my own, and I have posted it here before, and I like it. Here's Spider-Gwen. She's borrowing my Taskmaster's white hood because I only have one. I can't take credit for this, pretty sure I found it on EBF! Agent Venom is waiting for a V-Wing pilot face, which I think will work better. Spider-Woman/Carnage Queen Mary Jane is loosely based on her appearance in the USM cartoon. I make villains exclusively in yellow, and mostly for my kids, so they aren't as good. But check out Enchantress, Bullseye, and Nobu. (Absorbing Man, Iron Monger, Bullseye, Whiplash, Grant Ward, Klaw, Batroc, Enchantress, Nobu, Malekith, Kurse, Laufey) The X-Men villains are a little better. I like my Juggernaut even though he resemble the terrible Vinnie Jones version in X-Men 3. Mystique, Pyro, and Sabretooth are among my favorites. (Silver Samurai, Sauron, Toad, and Omega Red in the back) I think Mysterio and Lizard are decent. You can tell I have a LOT of Chima parts to use! The flickr album also has closups of the new parts for the Agents of SHIELD and the X-Men. I can post them if anyone is interested, or you can see them at that website. Edit: I look forward to comments and ideas!

I have posted closeups of almost all of my customs on my - but the lighting in the room is still an issue. There are some tweaks to figures I had posted before because I got a whole bunch of new heads and some other new parts - e.g. Colossus and Gambit have new and better legs, all the females have female heads instead of neutral male ones. Here's Kamala, which I think looks decent, as well as Wasp which is a Eurobricks Forums inspiration (EBF) and my Lady Sif, which I quite like. (I'm having issues with multiple images in this post, so I may have multiple separate posts, sorry for the spam!
-
Let me post closeups of the actual customs later. I really wanted to give tribute to all the great ideas I have gotten from this site over the past year or so, because you will see how many of them are in full effect.
-
I wanted to share my Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel before it becomes obsolete next month, and use this as an opportunity to show my Marvel display and some other customs. Sorry for the poor image quality, the lighting wasn't great and I didn't realize it at the time - I took these pictures in a hurry and decided to post them. Here she is hanging out with a couple of other Avengers who haven't made it into the movies yet atop Avengers tower - Captain Marvel and custom Wasp (reproduction from other posts in this forum). Rescue is inside the tower while Hulk and Thor are hanging out on the balcony cause they missed the fun from Civil War. Below them ... Team Iron Man on the left and Team Cap on the right. Head south from Avengers Tower ... The heroes of Hell's Kitchen (aka the Defenders) and the Sanctum Sanctorum. My customs are Punisher (repro), Daredevil (original, posted in this forum), Elektra (repro), Hellcat (original but not great) and Jessica Jones (repro). You can see Stark's armors to the left ... Complete set of armors except for Civil War armors - no customs :( . Head north from Avengers Tower, you reach the Queensboro Bridge ... Lots of customs on the bridge, many have been posted earlier. This is mainly characters that have appeared on Agents of SHIELD in some form. Under the bridge is custom Sif hanging out with Maria Hill. Peggy Carter can't be seen :( but is driving the blue jeep. Yo-yo, Joey Gutierrez, Lincoln, Quake, May, Hunter, Mockingbird and Coulson have been posted before. Mac is driving the SHIELD SUV, and his shotgun-axe is clipped to the side. Fury is under the bridge tower in his green car. The Bridge sign says turn right for DBC tower ... Custom Spider-Gwen (repro) is waiting for a proper white hood, custom White Tiger is waiting for Christmas when I'll get the proper set, custom Agent Venom (repro) who probably wants a Star Wars head instead and custom Mary Jane as Spider-Woman. These are all based on the Amazing Spider-Man cartoon. That's right, Spidey appears twice! You'll notice a lot of customs are reproductions of ideas I have found here on this forum. A massive THANK YOU for all the ideas and inspirations! Below decks are my custom X-Men which have been only tweaked since my earlier posts, Guardians (tLG), more vehicles, and some yellow-faces. I'll leave those off. But in case you were wondering why the good guys are prepped for battle ... All customs (all original I think?) are yellow-faced, and some are in the choppers or way in the back, but represented customs (roughly front to back, left to right) X-Men villains in the choppers include Omega Red, Mystique, Silver Samurai, Sauron (on tail) Pyro, Sabretooth, Juggernaut. On the bridge, Nobu, Whiplash, Absorbing Man, Klaw, Bullseye (behind Taskmaster, ugh) Iron Monger, Enchantress, Batroc Sinister Six, waaaaay in the back Mysterio, Lizard

I like what you are doing with these! Here's my Black Canary.
