Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
linnormlord replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Any confirmation that the Bricktober pack is a promo starting tomorrow 3/8? I called my local Lego shop earlier in the week and they said they can't talk about it and "an email" would be going out soon. -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

I don't remember the prices and they aren't posted on the front page summary any more. Now that we have good looks at these sets, what can we say about the prices for each? I think someone said the Cap bike is $20, which seems ok (though I don't like the bike) for 4 figures (I'll pass). $100 for the Avengers compound seems waay tooo muuuch. ETA I just noticed that the Iron Man in the Avengers compound has golden arms, and so is a different suit than the mk 50 in the Iron Man Hall of armors. Can anyone tell if the torso print is different too or just the arm color? -

That was my first thought as well! I can't help but thinking this! My son has been interested in the city police sets for a while, so maybe this will be our compromise... -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Pretty sure Lego responds to sales figures. If the sets sell well, they won't change anything. If the sets sell poorly among adults and children alike, then they will change things. Marvel is not among the best-selling themes at Lego right now. (I wonder if it once was.) We are seeing the consequences of the theme's popularity. I own every major Marvel set from 2012-2016 except for 2. I skipped 3 from 2017 alone. I still collected every set from 2018 except UCS. 2019 sets have me scratching my head. I think the theme is gradually less and less appealing to adult collectors? -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Thank you for the reply. I should clarify when I said "comprehensive" I meant "in covering interesting to this thread pieces" and of course not all pieces. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
linnormlord replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm pretty new to this thread, so I apologize if this has been discussed at length before. If anyone is familiar with the lists at http://bnp.jonaskramm.com/ (warning, this goes to a Google Drive folder with a few spreadsheets) how comprehensive is it? I am thinking about putting together an order of some interestd B&P parts, but searching through the service is exhausting. As a second question, I did some comparison shopping between Bricklink and B&P pricing for the same parts. I was looking at a lot of minifigure parts, which were usually more expensive at B&P than at Bricklink, but some were excellent deals, especially because you can get free shipping through Lego S@H. My question is how do you do you comparison shopping for prices? Thanks in advance! -
Cool! You found it! I was never happy with the colors, it turned out way too dark. The pattern on the dark blue legs was pretty cool, but overall just was too dark. It's somewhat more faithful to the source material. To be fair, my lighting was terrible compared to @Schwa's setup. I am eager to get back to this figure and make improvements. I think I will try to get a blue ninjago cowl! Darkhawk has a very distinctive chest amulet. I used the piece above to represent it, but can anyone else suggest an improvement?
-
This looks a lot like mine (you can find it posted a while back) but I used much darker pieces (black mask for example) and it didn't look right. I like the lighter colors you used here. Be sure to give him a Wolverine claw on his right hand to represent his claw cable from the comics!

So are these new Spider-Man sets part of a "juniors" oriented line? The prominent 4+ on the boxes makes me think that this is the new version of Juniors instead of the red boxes. -
This figure has good parts for Radioactive Man AND for Melter https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=col17-11#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

I like that torso too. There are lots of great choices, and Bricklink makes it easy to browse them by color. I just knew that I had to point out the great helm since it really is the perfect piece. Be sure to post the fig here when you're done!

Helmet just screams https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=89520#T=S&O={"iconly":0} Torso is tougher. There are many dark blue torsos that more or less work. This one preserves the X if you don't mind the other details https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb1404c01#T=S&C=63&O={"color":63,"iconly":0} I think that the viking torso looks good too, although it's not a visual match: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0379c01#T=S&O={"iconly":0} Just a few ideas to start

Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

Someone on reddit is saying that they received the Infinity War promo set free with 40 pounds purchase at Toys R Us in the UK this week. Can anyone in the UK confirm that this is happening right now? For us in the US, if I am not mistaken, Lego basically told us to wait for more info?- 3,962 replies

A) I had no idea that Bricklink had updated their database to be SO WRONG! B) I have posted a suggestion on Bricklink to update. C) Lego did a pretty good job adapting the look of the character from the cartoon D) Read Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss. -

That is definitely Luke Cage. This is what he looks like in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series. Victor Alvarez happens to have a similar appearance in the comics, but we have an official Luke Cage figure ... it's just not how we usually picture Luke looking. I like Luke's look, but Luke looks like luck licked his design and this is what we are stuck with. Luke Luck takes licks in lakes duck likes. -

Late to the discussion here, but the Mighty Micro-like vehicle for Green Lantern from that book is identical to the MOC in the youtube video. Either the artist pinched the design from the video, the video pinched it from the book art, or the artist and the youtuber are the same person. Comments on the youtube video bring this to the youtuber's attention, who seems unaware of the situation and surprised, so options 2 and 3 are out. Sorry I missed this detail, but what exactly is the source for this art? A future issue of Lego Life? -
Easier to see where to put a brick. On the printed instructions, putting black bricks on black bricks (etc) too hard to visually distinguish.

Wow, those look terrific? I would also like to know what head you used under the Ant-Man helmet.

I would encourage you to check out Purist Minifigures. It's real fun to make purist customs to fill in gaps. Regarding the Batman villains, I agree with RedHoodPug in general. Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, and Penguin are by far the most memorable villains form the show. Mr. Freeze, King Tut, and Egghead are the next tier. And these all got official figures! I like Mad Hatter, mostly because of the depiction in later media. No version of him has had an official release. False-fase is the show's version of Clayface, who is another classic villain. The animated Batman 66 sequels added Two-Face as a character, so making a version of him matching his appearance there would be fun too. Most of these characters would be straightforward to make because they tended to wear suits (Mad Hatter has a grey suit, Bookworm a brown suit) with a matching hat.

May I ask where and how you got yours? It's hard to find in stores, and I don't want to overpay for the whole set when all I want is Raven.

Me too! There were pictures, probably preliminary images, of a few unreleased sets. I never found them myself, so if anyone has any ideas of where they are, hit me up. To answer your question, the line is almost certainly dead for now. The franchise is also shifting direction with a new animation style coming up. -
My guess is @Numbuh1Nerd used Barbara Gordon Swat Vest's arms. https://brickset.com/minifigs/sh328/barbara-gordon-swat-vest-(70908)
