Will the DC Superhero Girls sets be discussed here? It would appear that Lego is treating it as a distinct theme from "DC Super Heroes" which makes sense given the different format of the figures. I don't have a problem in principle with minidolls, but sometimes the prints end up looking weird. E.g. Christoff from Frozen looks like he's wearing spandex instead of thick woolen clothes. But that could work in favor of a superhero themed line. I am not terribly fond of the fixed wrists though, you can't pose as much. Either way, can't wait to see what these will look like! 6 sets in the line is a big investment, so Lego must believe this will be a successful line, and my kids love the show they'll be excited too.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion

How quickly do you think the store exclusive sets are going to sell out? I want to wait before I buy them but I also don't want to miss out on them. I remember the Ant-Man set had a pretty limited run (I got it in time) and I don't want to miss these. I'm thinking double points in October? -

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
linnormlord replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
It sounds to me like no villain will appear in more than one set. In fact, Batman may be the only character to appear more than once, and even then he may be different variants. I guess what I'm getting at is will every figure in this line be exclusive to the set it appears in? That will be both exciting and expensive for us (not to mention expensive for Lego). I guess the closes line for comparison is The Lego Movie sets, and almost every figure there was set-exclusive (the first Emmet is the only repeat I can think of right now), so is this really possible? -
I'm going to try this again. And I'm going to address it directly to Nemo. Nemo, please make it expressly clear what you think belongs in the fora you moderate. If discussion of info about future sets that does not come from Lego officially does NOT belong in the fora you moderate, please state that explicitly, so that we can be clear with each other. You have implied this several times, and I suspect that's what you want. If that's so, that's fine, but allow us to create a new forum where we discuss unofficial info, and allow the community to come up with a reasonable set of rules of behavior for posts in that new forum. Note that I am not talking about leaks of watermarked images, which are always off limits. There would be separate fora for set discussion and rumor discussion in the licensed (and other?) themes. Is this ok? *together with a moderator

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Just noticed this and can't unsee it. What's going on in the middle of the Black Panther brickheads' belly? Is that a pronounced outie? Why does it look like that? Dr. Strange has a belt, and Iron Man has armor texture, so the protruding bits in the front make sense, but Captain America has a very flat belly. What's the deal with Black Panther's tummy? That's probably going to be my weirdest post for a while.- 5,808 replies

I'm not sure if you're trying to be helpful or not. You are not addressing the comments or concerns themselves. You have not acknowledged that a mod has insulted the forum users. Yes, much of what you are saying is correct, and mods have final say as per site guidelines, but still, ignoring insults lobbed at forum users is hard to understand. Per site guidelines, suggestions from users are allowed, and welcomed. The mod in question is unreceptive, and is actively deleting posts with suggestions in them for being off topic. This should be addressed, or at least acknowledged. Technically, posts are hidden, not deleted. This is a distinction without a difference. I quoted the mod himself saying that he has hidden posts. Why are you still questioning whether this has happened? I understand that you need to defend other mods from abuses from users. There is no way to know which users are making stuff up or crying over petty slights. I feel that I have put forth a reasonable argument and you have dismissed it out of hand. Maybe it's not your job to moderate disputes of this kind, but given that this is a dedicated forum where such complaints can be aired publicly and you are moderating it, at least measure your responses in kind. Do not idly accuse me of being insulting or childish. Please provide proof. I have presented evidence of insulting speech in my comment, you have not acknowledged it. Disagreeing with someone is not itself insulting. Calling someones posts "garbage" is insulting. What we want to see is fair treatment from the mods, and mods and users held to the same site guidelines we all agree to. edit. ps. Your point about site enjoyment is very important. You have several users indicating that the mod is interfering with our enjoyment of the site. This is why we are bringing it up. If my personal statements are getting in the way of someone's enjoyment of the site, I would like to know that and there are ways to tell me. I

Moderator is being rude and inappropriate. Implying that the forum members are stupid is wrong. Calling their posts garbage is wrong. This should not be coming from an official moderator. The moderator is also deleting posts with suggestions about the forum. Site rules state that suggestions to moderators are allowed. The deletion of these is baffling, and perhaps retaliatory. Specifically, the discussion was asking for clarification from the moderator, which the moderator deleted instead of replying to. There seems to be disagreement between the moderator and the audience about what is on topic. The moderator is not helping to clarify or discuss with the audience, but rather is deleting posts about it and is writing almost insulting posts like this. Respectfully, no one was acting immature nor insulting anyone. We were discussing the scope of the forum and how to handle "leaks" and unsubstantiated rumors in a respectful way. These topics are material to the forum in my opinion. Calling my opinion garbage is where the insults come in, and that was the moderator. The site guidelines say that suggestions are welcome. This moderator disagrees. Please hold the mods to the same site guidelines we all agree to when we sign up here. I think the frowning clown face doesn't help the discussion either, because it makes all the moderator's posts sound more harsh and reprimanding, as opposed to friendly guidance of the conversation.

I agree with you but the mods do come in and set things right ... after the forum has lost its mind discussing the dubious rumors. Why not nip it in the bud? Warn posters of rumors that they need to give some info about where they got their info or it will be deleted? -

Is it possible to cite sources in the future so we can gauge the reliability? I heard it from a person who works at X I saw prelims at Y Someone who saw prelims or catalog images told me Z I found an image on a website Or is it not possible to cite sources when they are legit? (Obv. no names, urls, or identifying info, just generalities) -

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Ooh, ooh or give us BOTH heads! They kind of gave us two heads for an Iron Man suit before (Tony and Pepper in IM3) and they gave us two heads for one minifigure before (Carol Danvers with and without mask for Captain Marvel). They could do it again! I really liked the option that these two sets gave, and keep Pepper in the Mark 42 and Tony in the most current suit. The Captain Marvel heads are also really nice. Have they done this before or since?- 5,808 replies

I don't think they would troll us that badly - give us a character nobody cares about and is clearly a joke character, but ... It would be HILARIOUS if they did! Just needs a new new torso print, leave the rest the same! -
I am using this one https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626bpb0376#T=C

Thanks for the comments! A lot of your comments come from the heads I "chose" which really means I used whatever I had spare lying around - but now with suggestions I can seek specific parts for specific figs. As I posted earlier, finding heads in human skin tones is frustrating because they tend to be pricey. I'll look into these head suggestions to improve my designs. Professor X is definitely made of spare parts and not my top choices for his parts - will improve. Thanks! I like the new legs on Jean too. Yeah, Colossus has too much red. He needs more yellow, but red/yellow is hard in Lego (at least in Colossus appropriate versions). The armor gives some detail to the chest and makes him bulkier. The first link you posted doesn't do anything for me, but I want to check out the legs on the second link for a splash of yellow and some needed detail. But I can't find them on BL - unless maybe they aren't "red"? Better reception on Banshee than anticipated! That neck bracket is super old and pretty beat up. Head: see spares that I had lying around (Banana guy from Grodd set). Good suggested alternative. I'd like a better torso for Nightcrawler, and I think Red Nightwing's could work, but I don't have it, it's pricey, and I don't know if I would want to sacrifice Nightwing for a MOC. Other than that, the google search you sent didn't give me a lot of new ideas - did you have something specific in mind? Quicksilver is not a problem for me, not all my creations are strictly comics based. And he's never really been on the comics X-Men team anyways (X-Factor and Avengers yes, Magneto's original Brotherhood, but never X-Men proper). The Rogue suggestion is expensive! The Havok one is very doable. I've got spare Super Mans (Super Men?) I can cannibalize. Shadowcat needs a new head, yes. As pointed out by others, Shadowcat is a expert martial artist and is sometimes depicted with paired katana - I needed to give her something to hold to make her somewhat distinct as the costume is completely generic (see Magik). I would rather give her the navy/blue puffy costume with the domino mask and Lockheed, but I couldn't find a good torso to start with. For Magik, one of those is affordable and will be checked out soon! Bishop's color scheme and hair don't match any depiction I like the one you linked a lot more. I have obtained the second hair suggestion for Psylocke - haven't tried it yet. Her face is currently Hawkeye's! Gambit's colors are close but not perfect- any ideas for recreating his iconic trenchcoat? Jubilee needs sunglasses or else will blind herself with her own powers. Any other light flesh heads with printed shades? Also, I would rather a yellow jacket without a Battle of Yavin medal! Thanks! Gambit uses this head http://www.bricklink...626bpb0664&in=M which it has been pointed out came in several sets/figures. I got mine in the TIE pilot/mini TIE interceptor/Death Star globe set. Suffers from looking too pale as a printing inconsistency printing light colors on dark parts. Thanks for the comments !Thanks for the comments !

I feel silly asking (repeating) this question, but it's not on the first page and I can't remember where the discussion was: In the US, Dr. Strange set is Target (and S@H) exclusive (saw it on the shelf) In the US, Civil War Tanker set is ??? exclusive? TRU? -

You might be thinking of these: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb033#T=C but the color scheme is reversed from what you would want. However, these would work pretty well in a different way: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb072#T=C- 8,446 replies

Here is my updated and expanded X-Men roster. Many of these are directly inspired by this forum (EBF PSF), so apologies for not crediting each of you individually. As usual, idea, comments, suggestions are welcome. I'm looking for the best pieces for these characters by looking through BL for parts/colors, but I would love to hear from you. Also, these are my favorite X-Men from across comics, cartoons, and movies, and video games. I am pretty satisfied with my list for my purposes, but which characters do you feel I have left out? Who deserves a spot on this roster? Dazzler? Firestar? Negasonic Teenage Warhead? Original X-Men Professor X Beast Angel Jean Grey (updated legs) Iceman (TLG Electro) Cylcops (TLG) Giant-Sized X-Men Colossus (EBF PSF) Storm (TLG) Banshee (blue hips can't be changed, he's actually a keychain ) Wolverine (TLG) Nighcrawler (EBF PSF) 70s-80s X-Men Quicksilver (TLG) Rogue (EBF SPF) Havok (yellow head needs replacement) Shadowcat (not my favorite version of her costume, but easy to make) Magik (yellow head again! I told you I was running out!) 90s X-Men Bishop (needs work) Deadpool (TLG) Psylocke (so tough to do, could be better) Gambit (TLG Hawkeye) Jubilee Cheers!

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
linnormlord replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
IIRC there will be three sets in the January wave, one of which is the Hulks set (confirmed), another which is potentially the Coulson + LOLA + ??? set (rumor from a trusted source), and another set that may or may not include Spider-Man + superhero in a red suit + supervillain that is big enough for both of them (my speculation based on hints, no need to comment). Technically, we could call all three of these "comics-based sets" or very vaguely "cartoon-based", but definitely no movie sets in the Jan. wave. Not fishing for new details, just wanted to see what I have (or haven't) pieced together correctly.- 5,808 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Given both of your track records, I feel like you are hinting at USM Spider-Man / Daredevil Teamup vs. Kingpin (possibly as a bigfig). Of course, I could be projecting what I want here ... I always considered Daredevil off-limits to Lego due to the adult-themed show, but NOW I think it could still be possible, especially if any of the Defenders show up in Avengers Infinity (even as background characters). A Coulson figure/set is exciting, but it does come way too late for the character, doesn't it? It's not AoS-based, so possibly a reference to his appearances in the USM cartoon, or he takes the role of the "generic cop" figure the way Capt. Stacey did, so the set is not actually about him at all.- 5,808 replies

A couple of general questions for building purist MOCs. What the cheapest/easiest way to get extra head in human skin tones? Since they come from licensed sets, they tend to be expensive on bricklink as far as I have seen. If I build a nice MOC, I don't want to tear it apart to build the next one and would rather get more parts. I have used bricklink to buy parts for my creations, but I haven't used pick-a-brick. I am turned off by having to type in the set number and dig for interesting parts. Is there a better way to go about it? And how is their pricing compared to bricklink? Shipping? Thanks! I'll post my bigger purist X-Men lineup in a couple of days.

My biggest complain about the minidolls is that their hands don't rotate, which severely limits the poses you can place them in. They are mostly fine otherwise, and would be happy to see the SuperHero Girls in either format. I can see Lego going either way, so we'll find out.
