  1. This looks like an unofficial CW Arrowverse year: Firestorm, Reverse Flash, and Killer Frost. At least it makes me think that. Nice to see so many new characters getting figs for the first time. Cheetah is a great choice with all the attention WW has been getting of late. Lobo is a popular character too. All around this looks like a nice selection. It's a little hard to comment on the figure quality yet. @Duncan Young pointed out the plain legs throughout (except WW). All the arms appear to be plain too. Can't say the builds are that exciting to me. The LL Mech is interesting, but I just picked up the first one used a few months back. A shame too, because I would like a battle-suit Lex. For me, I think I will BL some of the new figs and pass on the rest.
  2. You lost me at Sam Wilson Cap ... ANAD Avengers?
  3. This is funny because Orca doesn't have hands. Technically, the head/neck gear on these figures could be considered their "accessories," but only technically. Besides, they could always give Crazy Quilt a 2x2 printed tile (of patchwork!) they way they did with Eraser - who also wasn't holding anything in the movie. I guess what I am really saying is anything is possible.
  4. Could you try it with Red Hood's head? I know the color will be off, but the face may look good.
  5. So I loved the brick-built "maxifig" Ant-Man from last year's airport battle scene and ever since we found out this year's Wonder Woman set would have one as well for Ares, I resolved to make some of my own. One of my favorite MOC brickbuilt figs was The Destroyer from Thor, but I had to dismantle it a while back. So I am excited to bring it back as a MaxiFig. It still looks like a minifig so I say it belongs here :P He's also facing off against Ant-Man. Editing in Flickr disabled at the moment, so the crop on the first image is atrocious, sorry! I built this with parts I had laying around, so the hands are very different from TLG's design, and there are definitely a few places where a different piece is out there that would have worked better. I found also found out just how hard it is to find the right pieces in light grey. Anyone else working on purist superhero brick-built maxifigs? p.s. I am aware that "maxifig" has an established meaning in Lego speak, but that term hasn't been relevant since 1982 so I am appropriating it here.
  6. Here is a complete list of "blue hands" https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=983&colorID=7&in=A You can see that the arctic series from a couple of years back gave a lot of blue hands ... those should be pretty cheap figs/torsos on bricklink and elsewhere. A few Nexo Knights figs too.
  7. That piece already kind of exists ...https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18962#T=C or https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=85979pb01#T=C&C=2 I really like the Ares brickbuilt bigfig. Love the Ant-Man one I already have, and started building a custom on the same design. I am wondering if bricklinking just the parts and stickers for Ares will be reasonable as the bricks typically are, or pricey like the minifigs typically are since it's a character.
  8. Thanks for the link, but I guess I wasn't clear. I wanted to see what the school and two dorm rooms looked like when connected to each other.
  9. Very nice! What torso and legs on steel? Is that the new super adaptoid?
  10. Any idea where I can find a picture of the two (or three) sets connected to each other? A quick googlin' came up empty.
  11. Do I spot a clever use of an official sticker? This looks pretty great IMHO. Is it just me or did you cut the bottom of the sticker?
  12. I am going to agree with what I think you were trying to say. Barbara Gordon appears throughout the movie, but not as Batgirl. I was surprised at how little time she spends dressed as the iconic character, and only one set gives us her detective outfit she wears throughout the majority of her appearance in the film. In fact, I would have like to have her detective outfit, but it's only in the most expensive set of the line, and a store exclusive to boot, so they did disservice to her most common appearance in the film.
  13. In an alternate universe ... "I am disappointed in Hela's headpiece because they used the movie design and it's inaccurate to the comics." "What do you mean? Look at the antlers, they're perfect!" "It's not the antlers, it's the mask. In the comics, the helmet and mask are attached and come down below her eyes. In the movie, it's more of a crown, and the part on her face is just face paint. Lego decided to go with the movie's crown design without a mask, so it's inaccurate to the comics." "I think the helmet is perfect the way it is. It looks accurate to me." "It's not accurate. When I buy a Marvel COMICS movie set, I want the set to be accurate to the COMICS." I found this whole exchange to be hilarious. Especially because the (presumably concept art-derived) design is in fact more accurate to the comics, so we totally would have had the conversation above had they gone with the different design.. Everyone should remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and nobody should be trying to convince anyone that they are wrong. Remember, perception is subjective. The use of concept art in designing sets will be a thorn in our sides for a long time to come, especially because these movies come out so frequently, giving limited production time for the films, and even less for the tie-in toys. For me, this Hela is the best of both worlds, blending movie and comics elements, it can sit comfortably between MCU or comics characters. This is a best-case scenario for me, and is a testament to the director's vision that his film designs are so faithful to the source material. Usually. ps. The parody above is not directed at anyone in particular. It is meant to show how the opposite reaction was at least as likely.
  14. I am pretty sure that the CMF are not made in Denmark. I don't know if they ever have been. The plastic is also slightly different. Lobster Lovin Batman seems to have the most problems.
  15. Mine's face doesn't quite line up with the mask right so he doesn't look suave but looks more derpy. Yours?
  16. Oh, I agree. I'm not complaining about the blue. It is cartoonishly blue though. It is true to the source material, looks ridiculous, and is comically appropriate in a movie about a Norse god wielding alien technology and a giant green temper tantrum buddying up in a movie starring Goldblum. Remember that the whole idea of Hulk wearing armor itself is pretty ridiculous, and the fact that it only covers one shoulder is similarly ridiculous (because he's nigh indestructable, and Roman retiarus with shoulder armor was supposed to look ridiculous). I was just trying to point out that it's the same blue on Thor and Hulk and it's on purpose.
  17. Both Thor and Hulk pick up some ridiculously blue armor bits in the arena. This is the same blue color that everyone complained about in Hulk's pauldron, and it appear's on Thor's leg here (and other little bits in the movie).
  18. There's going to be a build and take event at Barnes and Noble for a mini speedwagon batmobile.
  19. I posted mine a while back. I like it, but it's far from perfect. Here he is with a bunch of other X-Men Villains.
  20. Love that Jessica Carpenter Spider-Woman. Is that Jackal head purist? I don't doubt it but I am unfamiliar. A few of these I'm not recognizing, and reddit doesn't seem to have one (I could be missing it). Can someone provide a legend? Also, as pointed out at the link, the bridge battle spiders aren't on there (yet, she/he hasn't built the set yet).
  21. Oh goodness thank you for clearing up my idiocy. Easy mistake to make, but I should know to be a little more perceptive by now.
  22. But that's the 2015 wonder woman from the Grodd set! That's not new or exclusive. I have it already! Grr shakes fist in anger.
  23. Here's a dumb question. Which set has Barbara Gordon in her "detective" outfit she wears in much of the movie? Why am I unable to find it? NM, I found her. She's in the Arkham set.
