The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
linnormlord replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm more interested in the vehicle than the figs. What a weirdo! I love combiner vehicles, and Lego does them quite well. Both the Chima and Nexo Knights lines have had some neat ones before, but this one looks a bit (bigger and) better than those. The main Batmobile is enormous on its own, but looks pretty neat to me. I can't wait for pics of the thing split up. I am very unimpressed by the figures. Batman, Batgirl, and Robin are either identical or very slightly different than in other versions. I already have several Batmans and plan on getting the Catwoman set, so I don't need any more of those three. Wizard of Oz figures may make sense based on the events of the movie (haven't seen it) but not quite what I'm looking for from a Batman set, and I am not particularly fond of the movie or the characters/figs (it's a classic, I know, I'm a weirdo). I mean, the monkeys are (deliberately) ugly. Polka-dot Man is kind of similar - I had never heard of him before this film this Lego set (I missed B:tBatB), so I have zero attachment to him. The only figure of interest here for me is Batfred. Anyone know if there's any precedent for Alfred dressing up in this Greet-Hornetesque costume in any media before? -
Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
linnormlord replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I believe that the Iron Man armor in this set is modeled off the appearance in "All New, All Different - Invincible Iron Man" also abbreviated as the ANAD suit. The new helmet piece and color suit that adaptation well, as colors in the comics are brighter than in the movies. It's a testament to the success of the MCU that (what should be) the weirder dark red and flip up helmet from the movies seems more "natural" now compared to the more traditional bright red and pot helm shape.- 5,808 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
linnormlord replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think you can discuss anything you have seen. You are not allowed to post images that you should not have access to, or that aren't publicly released. If you see a picture that you shouldn't have seen, you can discuss it without posting the picture. You should not speculate on what a picture might contain, or anything that isn't based on evidence. Only discuss the known facts about known future sets.- 5,808 replies

Civil War box art shows a Captain America costume that was never even in the movie - it was concept/promo art only. The Civil War Vision IS accurate to both movies. I assume you are referring to the gem color, which was changed in a new head. The body was reused. Captain America was the only figure that was reused from Avengers. The only different in his movie costume was the removal of the red bits between films, so Lego reused the previous figure. Black Widow was reused too, and the costume there was pretty different. So out of 12 superhero characters, there were only 2.5 reuses, and 9.5 original designs. 7 of those already existed as other figures and were remade for the new movie sets. It wasn't as bad as you remember.

First look at Taserface in footage? He seems pretty well reproduced in Lego form as well.- 5,808 replies

The green box is for the Ninjago Movie minifigure series. It's not a second wave of TLBM figs if that's what you were thinking. Look here: https://mi-od-live-s.legocdn.com/r/www/r/stores/-/media/brand retail/stores/calendar/january/feb17-l.jpg?l.r2=-1726013088 Starts Feb 10, minimum $75 purchase. -

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Guys, I'm not too sure about the AMC offer. Some places it says exclusive figure https://www.amctheatres.com/movies/the-lego-batman-movie other places it says it's the Phantom Zone polybag. https://www.amctheatres.com/offers I am guessing that the first one is a mistake since the second one has a picture to go with it. -
Any secret place to get a spare hood in white? Taskmaster is using my only one at the moment, and as far as I know it's the only place that piece has appeared, so it's not cheap.

I'm finally going to get a Scarecrow! -
This video shows a lot of the contents of the DC Super Hero Girls sets in action. It is the preview for Season 3 of the Youtube series. there, Lena Luthor, the creation of the Kryptomites, Steve Trevor and the Capes & Cowls Cafe, the school itself, Batgirl's Jet, Wonder Woman's invisible motorcycle, Lashina and her Tank, all there. Some of the content rumored for the second wave of sets is possibly also in there. It's actually remarkable how closely the sets parallel the beats of the trailer for Season 3. In case you were curious about the source material ... Killer Moth appears in Episode 1 of season 3, and he happens to be released this year (as a Mighty Micro) as well.

My design above is taken from Lava Pasta's Flickr, all credit to him/her. That is indeed the Ventress head backwards. https://www.flickr.com/photos/141531000@N04/28582379786

This was on the Lego Twitter feed. In context, it is clearly a cute little joke about a Bat Plow, and something that the Lego team put together for a tweet. There is zero indication that this is a set. Besides, when have we ever gotten a picture of a Lego set outdoors? Only fan builds, and this is a Lego twitter team fan build of sorts. Sorry if posting the picture caused more confusion than clarification. When the OP said there was a new vehicle on twitter, I thought I would post the picture to save people time and help show what the vehicle was to abate speculation, not stoke a fire under it.

Just thought I would point out that Lego has never made a Mark 3 armor. The earliest (MCU) full armor is the Mark 06, and if you want to get cute about it (I do...) the Mark 5 is included as a suitcase in the Malibu Mansion.- 5,808 replies

It's not quite what you wanted, but I use these to upgrade Man-Bat from monster fighters' werewolf. http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=970c00pb158&idColor=7#T=C&C=7

I'm no expert, but that's what has been reported, yes. So that means 6 new Marvel sets in the US in March. Only the three mighty micros got Jan. releases in the US. Also, at the moment you quoted me to ask this question above, we both had 166 EBF posts!- 5,808 replies

The Krypto polybag is an in-store (and online?) promotion at the Lego Store from February 1 to February 15 with the purchase of any DC Super Hero Girls set. The store calendar for Feb is here: https://mi-od-live-s.legocdn.com/r/www/r/stores/-/media/brand retail/stores/calendar/january/feb17-l.jpg?l.r2=-1726013088

Is that a promo or you paid cash? $4.99 US? I got the Phantom Zone polybag from a Target 3 states away during a road trip in December. I have been to three Targets close to where I live since then, and haven't seen them there at all yet. -
From previous experience with wave releases and early images for sets appearing online - Given the summer release dates of the second wave of DC Super Hero Girls sets, when can we expect to find images of those sets? I want to get one Batgirl set - so I want to figure out which one I like better. And I want to do so before Feb. 15th so I can pick up the Krypto polybag at the Lego Store with a set, but will it be Batgirl or something else?

I suppose I find some comedy value in an inept and uninformed review. I assumed it was intentional on the part of the author ... maybe I gave them too much credit? It made me laugh at least.
