[MOC] Rebel U-wing from Rogue One

MUCH better than the Lego one! It is a great representation, and its smooth, sleek and accurate. -
It is rather fast, more than my other builds. You may certainly reverse engineer it, I'll provide detailed photos later today if possible. Thank you! Yes, it is necessary to hard-couple the L-motors to generate enough torque to drive the model at high speed. You commented on this!!! That means a lot to me, I was inspired by your buggy! Yes, I will post more photos, and possibly a video later today. There is more than enough space for buggy motors once the L-Motors are removed. If you mod my buggy, I would love to see the improved performance!

That is simply incredible. Wonderful display, the accuracy is just awesome! -
I finally got around to photographing one of my models, and figured I should finally post it. It has been raining for several days, and is forecast to do so for the next few days, so no videos yet. It was a model made to improve my skills from the last two I made, and it is definitely an improvement from before. Its fast, but if it isn't on a smooth surface it won't drive well (or at all) because it doesn't have enough torque. Class One Unlimited Buggy: Drive: 2 L-motors geared up 3:1 Steering: Servo motor Suspension: full independent, front: double wishbone, rear: not sure, trailing arm? Anyway, enough stats, I'll let the photos speak for themselves... IMG_3198 by Valerie, on Flickr IMG_3199 by Valerie, on Flickr Soft, long travel suspension. A little too much so, it sometimes scrapes the ground when fully depressed. IMG_3208 by Valerie, on Flickr IMG_3206 by Valerie, on Flickr The required underside shot. IMG_3200 by Valerie, on Flickr Finally, an experimental shot with dynamic lighting. IMG_3204 by Valerie, on Flickr C+C welcome! Thanks for looking!

[HELP] Nascar moc
Leonardo da Bricki replied to letsbuild's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Depending on whether or not you want a gearbox with multiple speeds, the drivetrain will be different: Yes, there is a gearbox. If this is the case, then you will have either one or both xl-motors powering the gearbox input. If there are more than 4 speeds that are gearing UP, use both motors to ensure that there will be enough torque to drive the car at high speeds. Otherwise, one xl-motor should be sufficient. No, there is not a gearbox. In this case, where speed is wanted, gear up the xl-motors and have them directly powering the driveshaft, one of them on each side. For good speed, start with 3:1 gear ratio (24 tooth driving 8 tooth). If that isn't fast enough, and your car is light enough, try a 5:1 ratio (40 tooth driving 8 tooth). But be warned, high speed + friction can lead to part damage. In any case, you will need one receiver per xl-motor to have each powered fully. Then, you can use one M-motor for steering, and one M-motor for changing gears, if you do have a gearbox. A good gearbox with a built-in switching mechanism is Sariel's. You can also check out his book, which goes into great detail on just about everything. I hope this helps. Good luck building! -

I don't know of any Technic Nascars on EuroBricks, but try searching Flickr or YouTube. Otherwise, you will be the first! -

Very nice! It looks much more spherical now, like in the movies.

You modeled most of the plane pretty well, but you need to round out the cockpit portion a bit more, add at least two arching flex axles or u-joints with axles to mimic the shape of the curving cockpit from the top of the plane down to the nose. Also, can you post a video or at least some pics of what the functions do?

That is cool, I must mod mine. What length are the light grey hoses on the back?
