LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game Discussion
Japanbuilder replied to npgcole's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Doesn't look that way. The thumbnail to the video shows them all black. Then the rest of the shots show only the underside as white the rest black, then all black. So very strange. Unless maybe the weapons change colors if they have a level up feature? My dream is LEGO reduces the build sizes on battle packs and actually packs both types of blasters going forward. That would seem a good compromise for me. Getting these dual colored ones for new FO battle packs would be just fantastic!- 201 replies

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game Discussion
Japanbuilder replied to npgcole's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I can't wait for this game to come out. I also noticed watching the trailer for gameplay that there are inconsistencies with the blaster rifles shown on screen. Of note at 0:37 I noticed this: Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 3.35.11 PM by Macster Tome, on Flickr The rest of the time they are the older all black types. I really hope they keep the dual color ones and that they start mass producing those for sets after the game is released that would be AWESOME!- 201 replies

Do they? Do you know the name of it? This app is not solely for stop motioning but it can link to your LEGO account. I would say the main draw would be the stop motioning but it definitely has things children will be interested in beyond that.

I am on iOS and it seemed to run reasonably well there. I will also search the App Store to see if there are simple alternatives there too. Thanks!

It is for children primarily. It is peppered with easier games than those found in the LEGO City app. But it does seem to offer a way to "stop-motion" your creations and share the results. I just haven't yet figured out a good method to extend video editing outside of the app itself. It also allows for rotation videos (another from of stop motion by looking at the process included in the App). Basically any budding youtube reviewer can potentially use this as a launchpad for projects. I would like to get to grips with it more and use it as a kind of springboard showcase for builds and such in case I want to start fishing like-minded people here in my local area and have LEGO meet-ups or something. But me being technically challenged is quickly checking these ambitions lol.

That right there is what LEGO is all about! Creativity and inventiveness coming together as one. The concept and design of this is amazing. Well done!

Or it is a place holder effect. I imagine it takes quite a bit of time to fully animate a feature made of CG LEGO bricks =)

The import price here so far stands at 67,800 Japanese Yen. Roughly $700 USD when you factor in shipping. Once authorized retail begins on this thing I don't see the price going down more than $300 (thanks to common pricing collusion) The fact that we never get sales or special promos further aligns this set in the outright you-are-out-of-your-mind-if-you-buy-this-category. It is going to be easy to vote with our wallets here. Which is a shame all other UCS sets here have flown off the shelves no problem.

Has anyone else gotten it? I started to dabble in it some and found the stop motion tool to be pretty useful. The tip videos were pretty nice I hope they keep that updated as time goes forward. The games are simple but they do entertain. Has anyone found a way to further edit the videos made form the app on other apps? I am not too technically inclined on the iPad so any tips would be welcome =) http://www.lego.com/en-us/creator/apps/creatorapp

Love the details but I specially love how you made the flag. Fantastic!

Or it could just be LEGO dipping UCS in their roots: children. Making something children will enjoy is basically the LEGO mantra all around. So this could be an experiment on that. That said someone needs to tell TLG that children don't have the dough to drop on a set like this and that most parents don't either. How they missed that part to this experiment is really what has me baffled.

Saint Quentin (France) Town Hall, Theater, Basilica, and much more

Holy cow! That stuff is impressive! Love the mosaic of Napoleon crossing the Alps. Very cool as a LEGO mosaic. Tell your fingers it was worth it! -
I am sure most of us have said our peace on this matter. LEGO getting stung as these sets fail to sell and the price is reduced by a ton is going to be the only way they learn to either redefine what UCS means or simply not make a UCS set like this ever again. Even as a recently returned AFOL I certainly expect a lot better than this offering from TLG. But as they say; live and learn right? Like many here I will simply vote with my wallet. That is the best way to get a company's attention. And with all of that I feel sort of bad for the next UCS set that follows in the wake of this one. Imagine the pressure on the designer too.

I thought the New Republic was in the midsts of demilitarizing itself (why they would do this I don't know). General Organa had been branded a warmonger and the Resistance was equipped with older or even prototype gear predating the Rebellion (thus the older model X-Wing). But then again maybe Wookiepedia is not the best source for this sort of thing >.> In any case I have seen people in other places online complaining to no end about the lack of "progress" during the 30 years post Jakku and the New Republic. If what Wookiepedia says is true about the state of the New Republic, her policies and the size of the First Order than it seems reasonable to assume the Galactic Civil War was more costly than the films presented with the New Republic so drained of resources as to mothball its service vessels and Imperial Remnant cut off from its previous resource-rich holdings limiting its options in terms of evolution in gear. If so I can accept most of the "progress" to be under-the-hood for a lot of gear seen on the films. Hopefully Episode VIII will bring a bit clarity to the scale of the conflict than EPVII did. However, they justify it I am glad they kept the iconic designs for the good guys and the bad guys. They look great.

Question: What term do we all call ourselves?
Japanbuilder replied to Paul B Technic's topic in Community
I just like LEGO. A LEGO-liker! That's me! Though to outside eyes probably "big-kid" would be the more apt term, not that that one bothers me either. -
I hope there is an interior period. The image only seems to show up to the depth of the facade and nothing else unless it is hidden on the left wing (from our vantage point). If it does I may have a hard time passing up this set.

That is a wonderful house! The minifig family who owns it must be really happy there.

Wow, how did you mount the mirror? That looks awesome!

More females in general. A female rebel trooper pack. A female First Order Battle Pack I am looking for a few good female minifigs for my armies!

Love the vandalized bicycle touch heh heh. -
That is fantastic! Are those tubes connected to whatever is helping it float? Or is it a boiler attachment of some sort?

That thing is impressively tall. Oo Feel sorry for any clones caught underfoot by that thing.
