UCS sets don't have a set retirement date so it could happen at any time. It will most likely be available in September but not guaranteed. -
I don't really mind stickers for the most part. The only set that was frustrating to build because of the stickers was the Resistance Troop Transport. The cockpit was really annoying. Here's a tip: If you apply a sticker and it's crooked you can actually move the sticker into its proper position by applying shear force with your thumb. You have to apply a lot of pressure and continuously move your thumb across the surface of the sticker. The sticker will move slowly but eventually it will move into its position. This probably won't work for very large stickers.

That's good news about the hoses. There's multiple sellers in the US with >6 @ $1. I just ordered the stern plates in black from two different sellers. They were the last two available in the US on Bricklink. I'm not sure if I want to get the rear canopy in light grey or black. I'm leaning towards light grey. I placed a $55 order from B&P and added the Droid Escape Pod to get free shipping. That saved a lot of money compared to the prices on Bricklink, mostly from the 8x 4x9 wedge plates and the 16x 8x8 grille plates.

Thanks for sharing. I just started this and a couple other Bricklink projects and I had a couple of questions. Did you replace the 6L umbrella stands with 63965? Did you use substitutions for the 2x Light Bluish Gray Hose, Rigid 3mm D. 14L / 11.2cm and the 8x Light Bluish Gray Hose, Rigid 3mm D. 10L / 8.0cm? Those are hard to find on Bricklink and out of stock on B&P.

Could we ever see a remake of these UCS sets
jdm44 replied to Distorted Vision's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That looks awesome. Did you just do color swaps or did you change the build at all? -
Total garbage but not surprising. LEGO wants to save the actual exclusive TFA minifigures for expensive sets.

Bricklinking a 75059 Sandcrawler without the play features
jdm44 replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It was a rhetorical question. I was pointing out that this is a place where people come to discuss LEGO Star Wars. The OP wants a Sandcrawler but doesn't want to spend $300 so he started a topic in a LEGO Star Wars forum to see if a cheaper option is viable. That seems completely logical to me. Responding with "Do we really need these threads?" is unhelpful to the OP and also rude in my opinion. -

It seems like the order you should get these items in would come down to your personal preference. What items do you want to have the most? Get those first. The only advice I can give is to get the items that are currently available before they retire like the Slave I. -
Bricklinking a 75059 Sandcrawler without the play features

Do you know you're in a LEGO Star Wars forum? Please keep rude comments to yourself. Back to the subject. You could also buy the set used with minifigures and then sell the minifigures. -
Bricklinking a 75059 Sandcrawler without the play features
jdm44 replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The pieces used towards the interior and play features are minimal compared to the total piece count. I think you would end up spending more money using Bricklink for an inferior vehicle with no minifigures. -
The UCS Snowspeeder set will probably be a collection of 4 regular sized Snowspeeders.

How does that work? $25 to sign up for 1 year and you get 10% discount on everything with free shipping? Do they ever have discounts more than 10%? -
A Snowspeeder that's "much bigger" than the previous one with 1455 pieces seems very unlikely. It's not 100% the Death Star but it's 100% not Starkiller Base since it's a remake of a previous UCS set.

Picked up an AT-AP that was still on the shelf at a local Barnes & Noble. Ordered the UCS Tie Fighter from LEGO to get double points! Impulse purchased Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor while shopping for princess LEGO with my daughter.

Thanks for the advice. I looked up the set on Brickset and realized that it was marked up to $100 instead of being $90. I also looked up the going price for the Phantom which is around $50 on eBay. A $150 set with poor reviews is an easy pass. On the brightside B&N also had the AT-AP which I didn't hesitate to pick up. It's been on my wantlist for a while. -

I'm considering getting The Ghost (75053) and I wanted to get some opinions from those of you who have the set. I never considered getting the set before because it was already retired when I started collecting a few months ago. However, I saw it today at a local Barnes & Noble and it piqued my interest. Is it a good set? Is the Phantom a must buy to go with it? Does it have enough room for all the main characters (Ezra, Chopper, Kanan, Hera, Zeb, and Sabine)? -
I'm sure LEGO realizes that. They make more money by saving the regular OT Stormtroopers for more expensive sets.

Nice! I really want a Venator for my collection but the price on the 8039 is too high for me. Did you get it used or new?

How do you display your models? With or without stickers?
jdm44 replied to hallonsylt's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm a purist in the sense that I build and keep my models the way that LEGO designed them. I put the stickers on when the instructions call for it, and I don't make any mods. However, I do plan to swap out the figures and satellite dish on the 75105 Millennium Falcon. Maybe that'll open me up to making changes on my other sets. -
The AT-DP is not as cool as the AT-ST but it's the next best thing which is still pretty cool. I like it because it's an awesome display piece for $50. I enjoy looking at it.

Looks really good so far. I'm impressed.

Is that a female A-wing pilot? Very cool if it is.

I've picked up a few new sets recently so my list has changed. Top 3 sets >$100 75059: Sandcrawler 75060: Slave I 75105: Millennium Falcon Top 3 sets <$100 75092: Naboo Starfighter 75101: First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter 75083: AT-DP
