  1. Looks awesome. I like how detailed it is and how it's built on a snowbank. My only criticism is that it's more egg shaped than spherical.
  2. It's still worth it.
  3. Just ordered the Ewok Village. My collection right now is all vehicles but I feel like the Ewok Village is such a good playset that I'll still like it. If not I can swear off playsets forever.
  4. Your "facts" are very assailable. The DS II is liked by a lot of serious LEGO fans. A lot of AFOLs prefer display models and couldn't care less about play features.
  5. What are the qualifications for an invite?
  6. Glad you like it. Takodana doesn't hold a candle to Final Duel. I can't see LEGO making a Death Star I similar to the Death Star II. That would be very unexciting. However, that would be the only way they would get me to buy one.
  7. How did you guys attach the octagonal plate to the main cockpit? The black 2x4 bricks w/ studs on the side don't line up to attach it. Also, how did you attach the windscreen?
  8. In the last month I've picked up: 75136: Droid Escape Pod 75041: Vulture Droid 10240: Red Five X-wing Starfighter (NIB for $200 on Craigslist!) 9500: Sith Fury-class Interceptor (Bricklinked) 10175: Vader's TIE Advanced (Bricklinked)
  9. If TLG likes money then there will be an AT-AT set available in December.
  10. It's tough to say how much I paid for the 9500 because I already had some of the pieces and I ordered parts for both sets together. My guess would be that it's not worth Bricklinking from scratch. I think you can find the set w/o minifigures for around $90. If you want Darth Malgus then you should definitely buy the whole set used or new. If you already have some of the parts then it might be worth it. Here's my method for predicting if a set is worth Bricklinking. I part out the set to my inventory (which must be empty) and set the prices to the current average for new bricks. Then I export my inventory to CSV which gives me an Excel spreadsheet with all of the parts for the set and their current average prices on Bricklink. Then I sort by cost per piece and cost per lot to determine how much can be saved through substitutions, exclusions and B&P (which is a lot). After that I have a rough idea of how much the set will cost. The shipping costs can be neglected from this total by finding sellers that price their pieces below the average. I have no idea if this method is optimal. I got my last BL order yesterday and the B&P order today. I guess I got lucky with B&P . Construction will begin tonight as soon as I decide which set to build first.
  11. Wow that looks amazing. I like how the whole rear end embraces the LEGO studs. I just Bricklinked the 10175 and got all of the 4x9 wedges from B&P. I'm curious to see how it looks with the Trans-Dark Blue Windscreen. I ended up doing what a few other members have done by using the new UCS TIE Windscreen.
  12. Okay good. My biggest complaint about ships like the Jedi Interceptor, X-wing, TIE Prototype, Shuttle Tydirium, etc. is that LEGO doesn't provide a way to display them in flight mode. I know I can build my own but I would rather have an official one that goes with the set like the latest Naboo Starfighter. The ships look so much better in flight mode.
  13. I really hope that Vader's TIE Advanced can rest on a surface and maintain its wing shape.
  14. If you're mostly into the minifigures then I would recommend the Final Duel. Luke, Vader and the Emperor are top notch. I would actually recommend the Final Duel over Takodana no matter what you're into. It's a better set in every way possible.
  15. I really like the set but mostly for the ship. I think it's better to buy the whole set and keep the pieces than to buy those two minifigures a la carte. Just keep the manual and the pieces in their bags. If you don't end up needing them then you might be able to make your money back by selling just the ship in a year or two. The ship was really fun to build so you might end up liking it if you go that route.
  16. Nice! I need to get more of these Stormtroopers. I only have the one that came with the UCS Slave I. Once I get an Imperial Star Destroyer I'll fill it up with these guys.
  17. I finished ordering parts for the 10175: Vader's TIE Advanced and now I'm just waiting for the bricks to arrive. I also Bricklinked the 9500: Sith Fury-class Interceptor since I already had a lot of the parts in my spare parts collection. My orders totaled to $240 (which included $28 for S&H) for 1 B&P order and 10 Bricklink orders. I had about $50 worth of parts to start out with so my grand total for the 2 sets is $290. I'm happy with that result. I'll post pictures once they're built (which won't be soon).
  18. Those Freemaker sets are fugly. The Luggabeast is cool but the the rest of the Jakku set looks uninteresting. I'll definitely be getting the X-wing, Turbo Tank, Tie Advanced & A-wing. I'm on the fence about the AT-TE.
  19. I'm not really into minifigures, but I would be happy with all of the vehicles shown in the trailer becoming sets.
  20. What makes Jyn Erso and Rey "wannabetough" and not actually tough? How else should a protagonist in an action movie be portrayed, regardless of gender? Why would Disney disregard 50% of the population?
  21. I really want a new Blockade Runner and Venator. The 2009 versions are too expensive for me. A new Frigate/Cruiser and Y-wing would be cool too but they're not as high on my wantlist.
  22. Wow! The score at the end of the trailer gave me chills. I'm really excited to see what LEGO sets we get. That Stormtrooper tank and 4-winged landing craft look really cool. I'm of course ecstatic about all of the OT vehicles and characters. My collection really needs a Star Destroyer and I wouldn't be opposed to having another X-wing and AT-AT. Where's the AT-ST? I hope we get one of those too. Does anyone have a guess to when the sets will be revealed?
  23. Definitely the Imperial Shuttle. It's 15 times more awesome than the other 2 combined. That's a scientific fact.
