I built the U-wing a few nights ago and I am very impressed. It's my favorite among the new vehicles from Rogue One. The AT-ST is still my favorite set from the initial wave.

So far I've stayed away from the Rebels subtheme. Mostly to limit myself but also because I'm worried that the sets will no longer have any appeal after the show is over. I like the show but I doubt I will ever watch it again in the future. Some of the sets like the Wookiee Gunship and Rex's AT-TE were only featured in one episode and might never be seen again. I watch all of the movies at least once a year so I know I will enjoy having those sets long term. Do any of you feel this way about the Rebels sets? Do any of you feel this way about the Clone Wars sets now that the show is over? -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?

I'm a huge fan of the Resistance Troop Transporter as well. The build was probably the most enjoyable of all the LSW sets I've built so far. Its only downfall is that it's not the most interesting ship in the galaxy. It definitely does a good job of transporting troops . -
I would be super excited to get any of these sets. I would highly recommend the original Wookiee Catamaran if you ever get a chance to buy it. It's a really solid build and looks great on display. The Hammerhead Corvette is now at the top of my wantlist. Right behind a Tantive IV.

The new Skiff set looks pretty good. I'm mostly excited for the new Weequay, Han's hair and the Sarlacc. I like how the plank slides out perpendicularly instead of rotating. My only concern is if it'll fit all of the minifigures from that scene (Han, Chewie, Luke, Lando, Kithaba, 2x Weequay).

It boggles my mind how the 2017 sets aren't going to be released in the US until March. That seems like a very costly mistake.
-
I finally picked up the 75149: Resistance X-wing Fighter (35% off at Target). I now have the complete collection of Force Awakens sets and minifigures.

The First Order Battle Pack is a huge surprise since we already have one currently available. The Bounty Hunters Battle Pack breaks the rules for battle packs. I hope it's true. It gives me hope of one day getting a Battle Pack with Cantina aliens. The Republic Tank only sounds interesting for the minifigures. I hope it has movie versions of the characters instead of the old Clone Wars style. The Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring sounds amazing. I'm really looking forward to it.

Here's my quick thoughts for the wave: Duel on Naboo - This set is very similar to Carbon Freezing Chamber which I liked a lot for its price range. It's nice to get all of these characters in such a cheap set. I'm looking forward to seeing some mocs made with multiple sets. Y-wing - This is my favorite set from the wave. The minifigures look awesome and the Y-wing looks likes the best LEGO version yet. I can't decide if I'm going to display this with my OT collection or with the other Rogue One sets. Battle on Scariff - There's nothing mind blowing about this set but I still like it. I think it'll be a good way to display a bunch of troops and a few vehicles. I liked Battle of Takodana for the same reason. Desert Skiff - I have the 2012 Skiff but I'm still excited for this one because of the minifigures. Luke, Kithaba and Lando from the 2012 Skiff will go great with this set. It also doesn't hurt to have another Skiff since there were two in the movie. A-wing - I have the 2013 version which I really like so I'm not super excited for this set. The fins are definitely an upgrade. I really like the Rebel Ground Crew and of course General Lando. Landspeeder - This is my least favorite set from the wave. We're not getting anything new. The Landspeeder is slightly different than the 2014 Cantina version and all of the minifigures are repeats. I guess it's nice to get another Tusken but that really just makes me sad that we don't have a Bantha. Battle Packs and Microfighters - All of the minifigures look great. I especially like the Imperial Pilot, Death Troopers and of course the OT Stormtroopers. I also like the mix of different Rebels. I don't care for the builds so I'll be throwing the parts into my parts collection. Yoda's Starfighter and The Phantom - They both look cool but I don't collect Clone Wars or Rebels sets so I won't be buying either one.

There's only two options that I know of for reference books. LSW Visual Dictionary and LSW Character Encyclopedia. The Visual Dictionary is a great book but it was published in 2014 so it's not up to date. I would still recommend it if you're interested in collecting sets and minifigures from 2014 and older. I looked at the Character Encyclopedia at B&N and wasn't a fan of the format. I like how the Visual Dictionary lists all of the minigures with pictures on about 10 pages. -
Here's a random list of sets that i'd like to see. Most of them have already been mentioned here. Tantive IV Venator Naboo Royal Starship Invisible Hand $25 Echo Base Medical Bay with Bacta Luke, Hoth Leia and Medical Droid Republic Dropship Jedi Temple Yoda's Hut TIE Bomber TIE Interceptor Cloud City Geonosian Arena Executor (non UCS) Maz's Cantina

That Y-wing set looks amazing. Awesome build, two new alien minifigures, a new astromech and an OT Stormtrooper. My only nitpick will be if the pilot is the same as the one in the U-wing.
-
The Y-wing and Battle on Scarif both look awesome. I don't really care for Battle Pack or Microfighter builds in general but the minifigures in these look really good. It's nice to get an updated all black Imperial Pilot. It's also nice to see some new heads on the Rebels. Those bearded heads look like they're the same as Snap Wexley and the Hoth Rebel Trooper from Assault on Hoth.

Picked up the CTT, TIE Advanced vs. A-wing, and Encounter on Jakku all on sale at Walmart.

Wow this is spectacular. I love the AT-AT footprints and how the feet are dug into the snow among many other things.

Imperial Shuttle Tydirium > AT-ST > Krennic's Imperial Shuttle > Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle > Imperial Assault Hovertank is my ranking. They're all really good sets IMO so you can't go wrong. I haven't built the U-wing yet but it looks pretty awesome. I don't think the Rebel Combat Frigate would be a very good set by itself with no other Rebels sets. I'd rather have the TIE Advanced vs. A-wing! -
I've decided to start picking up some older sets since my collection is mostly complete from 2014 - 2016. I'm still waiting for a few sets from 2016 to go on sale. My long term collection goal is to have the best version (which is usually the newest) of each vehicle and location set from all of the movies. I'm willing to get some Clone Wars and Rebels sets like General Grievous' Starfighter and the new Vader's TIE Advanced if they are better than the other versions. I got all of these sets used on either eBay or Bricklink at decent prices: 75017: Duel on Geonosis 9491: Geonosian Cannon (no minifigures) 7959: Geonosian Starfighter (no minifigures) 7962: Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers 8091: Republic Swamp Speeder 8095: General Grievous' Starfighter (no minifigures) 7260: Wookiee Catamaran (no minifigures) 7143: Jedi Starfighter 7115: Gungan Patrol
-
This is pure speculation but I think the reason is because LEGO wants to gradually increase the level of detail so that future sets will always feature "updated/new" minifigures.

I think you guys should refrain from bragging about getting multiple Revans. I'm sure there are a lot of members here that missed out.
-
The AT-ST is discounted to $32.82 on Amazon!!! Free shipping with prime. 1 down, 4 to go.
-
Could you lmk if they have all of the RO sets and Revan? I'm about 45 minutes away from the Galleria. I really hate going to that mall though.
-
Yes 5002123 is Revan
-
I'm tempted to buy a battle pack right now just to get Revan but I'm really only interested in the RO sets.
-
I'm on central time and they aren't available yet
