Since the beginning of February I've aquired: 75060: Slave I 75083: AT-DP 75092: Naboo Starfighter 75102: Poe's X-wing Fighter 75054: AT-AT 75059: Sandcrawler

What should I swap out beyond the satellite dish if I wanted to make my 75105 look more like an OT Falcon? My goal isn't to make it look like the 7965. I just want it to be a good home for Luke, Han, Chewie, Obi-Wan, Princess Leia, R2D2 and C-3PO.

Who are the two Duros in front? I know the one in the middle is Thrawn. I need to pick up some of those new BPs.

I would suggest getting the UCS Slave 1, Sandcrawler, or Ewok Village before buying retired sets that are priced way above MSRP. They're worth saving up for. -
Sweet collection and display setup. It makes me consider getting the Ewok Village. I sold all of my playsets (Takodana, Cantina, Final Duel, Jabba's Palace, and Rancor Pit) because I found them all lacking. I'm wondering if the Ewok Village would be different.

75131, 75132, 75139, 75140, 75101, 75102, 75103, 75104 and 75105 would go together for an epic Takodana display. They're all currently available. There's also a lot of options with the PT sets. Battle of Naboo, Geonosis, Kashyyyk, etc. The problem with those would be that you would end up paying a premium for the retired sets. I would do the same. That would look awesome. -
LOL I'm more excited for Rogue One than I was for Ep.7 because it's closer to the OT time period. Hopefully it will feature a lot of the OT vehicles.
-
Very nice. I thought about doing the same by switching the black and red pieces to grey and the grey pieces to black on the 75101. I like the modifications you made to make it look more like the OT version.

I did some research on how much it would cost to bricklink and came to these same conclusions. it's also worth noting that an original set is worth more than one that's pieced together through bricklink. The shuttle is definitely white in the movie. Not grey. There's no mistaking it.

I picked up a brand new one about a month ago for $159 shipped on eBay (BIN). I ended up not liking it after I built it so I sold it used for $149 shipped on eBay (BIN). It sold in less than a day. I hope that helps give you an idea of what the going rate it. If you don't mind a used one then keep an eye on eBay auctions and you can save a little money.

It would be tough to play with if it's still in the bag! -

I bought one on Bricklink for $25 less than a month ago (because I bought an incomplete Rancor Pit on eBay really cheap). I ended up selling the complete Rancor Pit set yesterday for $59 + shipping. So whatever you do don't buy just the Rancor for $50. There's currently one on Bricklink for $30 but you can probably get one cheaper if you're patient and wait for a deal. Why don't you just buy the Rancor Pit set? -
Is there exact dates for the double VIP event? I want to get the UCS Tie Fighter.

I don't think there's a set date. It could be soon. -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
jdm44 replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars

The A-wing (and the whole set) is is from the Rebels TV show, not Ep. VI.

Quick question. Does the parts list in the back of instruction manuals include extra pieces? -
I recently picked up the 75082 TIE Advanced prototype and the 75083 AT-DP and finally got around to building them. Wow!!! They're both going on my list of favorites. I had originally planed on collecting only sets from the movies but decided to give these Rebels sets a chance after hearing good reviews. I'm happy I did. The builds were awesome, they look great on display and the minifigures are top notch. The Stormtroopers look almost exactly the same as the OT ones. I can't wait for the Tie vs. A-wing.

Same here. I can't explain why, but I love this figure. -
That's an epic haul.

Thanks for all the responses. This gives me some good ideas for sets I need to get in the future. I just started collecting and I've been buying a lot of sets that are currently available. However, I feel like a lot of them are mediocre and I need to start being more selective. Quality > quantity. The AT-AP was off my radar until recently but now I'm definitely going to get it. The Sandcrawler and the UCS Slave I are my top priority and I plan to get them in the next couple of months. At some point down the road I'd like to get a Republic Gunship, Imperial Star Destroyer and the 7662 MTT.

I wanted to see what everyone's favorite sets are. Feel free to list top 3, 5, 10 or even top 25 if you have a lot of sets. You can also do different categories like UCS, regular, different price ranges or whatever categories you can think of. I just like like top x lists in general. I'm new to collecting so I just have a top 3 list. 75105: Millennium Falcon 75020: Jabba's Sail Barge 75101: First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter Favorite set <$30 75080: AAT

I'm on the fence about the 75043 AT-AP. The price hasn't gone up too much so I was thinking about getting it. What do you all think of the set? -
I don't know what's good value. I'm new to collecting Lego Star Wars so that's why I was asking. It seems comparable to the Ewok Village. A few have mentioned that the Ewok Village has more valuable bricks and that makes sense. They both seem like they're $50 overpriced to me. I think that the price per piece should go down as the price goes up. That's how most things in this world are priced.
