I don't know if this was mentioned or not, but did the set come with any extra rubberbands..?

Lego has an awesome design team, what I would like to see in the future is maybe them working closer with some guys.. For example if Sariel or Eric had a prelim version of this set back when it was at Toyfair, they could have helped aiding in working out the friction flaws or maybe spotted the gear error in a first run of the instructions.. I understand Lego's main concern would be anything leaking out, which is understandable.. I agree that it wouild be cool to invite someone new along from time to time to add some new inspiration though..

You have to swap the 12 tooth black bevel gear and the 16 tooth gear, they are on the wrong axles.. Jim has pictures in the opening post.. He is actually saying to switch out the 20 tooth and 12 tooth black bevel gears, he made a mistake there.. It should be the 16 tooth and 12 tooth gears.. The pic on the top needs to look like the pic on the bottom..

Eric, in that fix in the beginnng, does it make a difference which way the bushings are facing.. Like I have it in my hand now and it seems that the smooth ends of the bushings would be better facing each other... I don't know how much torque ends up being placed here, so I don't know how much twist will be put on the small tan bevel gears..

If Lego knew that the car shifted out of order, then why would they not inform every reviewer about it when they sent them the set..? Since the gearbox is the "heart" of the model, that seems like it would be a crucial piece of information..
-
You know, since the model has 4 forward speeds and 4 backwards speeds, technically all that you would need to do is switch the sticker on the center console.. Maybe that was another error.. Perhaps the sticker is wrong..

Lego should have just used this as their response.. "Attention Everyone who thinks there is a problem with the gearbox"
-
So let me get this straight.. Lego purposely and knowingly designed the gearbox to shift out of order to enhance the experience..?

I am a top rated powerseller, so I get money back every month which works out to 8% in Ebay fees(But still like 4% Paypal) and I wouldn't even bother wasting my time getting up in the morning and then picking up my friends to get around the 1 per person limit just to maybe make a measley $20 per set..

That portion of the authentication research must have been used to ensure the shock absorbers were the correct color..

There is one thing that I know for certain.. These rims are going to have a date with my chrome guy..

Sorry.. I was trying to type it up and couldn't remember what pages it was on.. I used your pictures of the fix.. Going to read the full review now..

I got a link for your review up at my Facebook page and I am also going to send out an alert about the error in the instructions..

That is understandable, but It's quite out of the ordinary for Lego to release a model that would require some monkeying around with the mechanisms to get right.. LOL.. Was wondering the same thing.. There are like 200 people in the forum right now.. -

Hmm. That's not quite what I meant, but I can see where you're coming from..
