  1. Love it! The LOTR sets brought me out of my dark ages too. This is a much better depiction of the scene than I could hope to do right now!
  2. This is a MOC I created first in LDD, then in real life (thanks BrickLink!), featuring four attractions at a Renaissance Faire/Festival. I wasn't sure whether to post it in this forum or City (since technically it would take place in modern times), but figured its elements would appeal more to Historic fans. You can find many more pictures on my Flickr page. Also, I have submitted this as a project on Lego Ideas, so if you feel so inclined, I'd love your support: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/131376 C&C are always welcome and appreciated! 3. Very cool! What are those sling parts? I can't recall seeing those anywhere before.
  4. Very impressive! You've done a good job capturing the chaos of the scene, and the ruins are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Looks great! I especially like Grond - the wolf's head is brilliant!
  6. Great recreation of a great scene!
  7. This...is...AWESOME!!! I love the details you've put into the interior. I'm gong to go out on a limb and say there's probably not much of a market for a $50,000 Kingdoms set, but f there were, this would be the one.
  8. I like it! Great job with the details, particularly with making the top of the lighthouse extend out further than the rest of the tower.
  9. I did say blindly optimistic. I hear what you're saying, but the inclusion of characters in Dimensions shows they know there is still demand for something, and hopefully they see that "something" is in the TFOL and AFOL market, similar to The Simpsons.
  10. My blindly optimistic hope for more LotR is what they're doing with The Simpsons: one large D2C set and one CMF wave a year. Is that so much to hope for? We could get the major missing sets and characters...come on Lego, throw us a bone...
  11. Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback. I agree about the chimney Vorkosigan.
  12. This was my second MOC, experimenting with a few techniques from Derfel Cadarn's amazing guide to building a medieval village. It's pretty simple and straightforward. C&C appreciated! 13. Wow. I can't really add much to the discussion besides agreeing with the others about how amazing this is! I particularly like the chandelier, which along with the candles and pole arms really creates a perfect Gothic feel. But I'm constantly amazed by how expert MOCers such as yourself can create such incredible exteriors...I have a long way to go...
  14. Very nice! I like the stream flowing out of the rock; nice detail. I wanted to get a closer look at that tree in the back right corner, but looks like you took it out for the shot of the back...but looks good from what I can see!
  15. Love it! The style of the building and the cobblestone walkway really do convey the essence of the Shire. Great job!
  16. Different kind of fir tree, I think, but I agree yours looks much better. I could probably fit a couple more in the scene, too. I just have to figure out how to make them...
  17. As others have mentioned, the floor is beautiful, but the wall and windows are impressive to me as well. Great MOC!
  18. Thank you for the feedback! I used grey for the limbs of the birch tree, but I should have used smaller pieces - I don't think they'd distract quite as much in real life as they do in LDD, but yeah, it's an ugly mess over there. The birch tree is behind the cracked boulder (which also needs more work...), and behind the birch are a couple of small bushes and a dead tree that you can't really see from this angle. My goal was to give the impression they are on the edge of a dense forest, but LDD doesn't really let you overlap foliage enough for that... Thanks again!
  19. Thanks! I do want to fix some of the gaps in it though...
  20. Hello! This is my first MOC, created a few months ago using LDD. The idea is an adventuring party has set up camp for the night, and while the members make their preparations for the journey ahead, the bard plays by the fire to entertain them. I hope to build this scene "in the brick" one day, and I know there are several things I want to change already. But what I'd love is to hear from some of the expert MOCers here on ideas to improve. Please, feel free to rip it to shreds - you can't hurt my feelings. I'm just looking for ways to improve my skills. Thanks in advance everyone! 21. This is beautiful, thank you for sharing! It's hard not to be inspired by this. I think our family may have to have a Lego nativity scene next Christmas as well...
  22. Very impressive Fantu! I really like the half-Hoth dome - and I see I'm not the only one who's thought of using CMF stands to make a roof. The details and thought you put into the entire scene are incredible. Well done!
  23. Thank you for the quick & helpful response!
  24. I've noticed most of the MOCs posted here are real-life...is posting MOCs created using LDD discouraged? I'm low on space and time (and 80% or more of my bricks are still in sealed boxes...) so LDD is about all I can do right now. Thanks in advance for responses. Lind
  25. Thanks for sharing this...incredibly creative and looks amazing!
