I imagine there will be a lot of that in a busy thread. :P I saw someone earlier who suggested a hordika neck; but to me it just looks like her shoulder armor is floating. I would recommend uploading them to an imgur album that you can post the link too here. Fast, simple, and easy.

You can see on Gali that her feet are connected to the axe parts by the middle of the fans, so I would imagine the similar decoration on the boomerang fits it. To me it looks like it already has a pin inside of it, indicating that something is attached to the other side, like the propellers used by the Water Defender.

Are you referring to the fact that there's an extra ball in front of her shoulder? That's where the torso bone's actual shoulder is- her arms are connected through a gearbox.

(It's so great to finally have my account back. Thanks gmail spam filters!) It's totally awesome that Bionicle is coming back! These G2 sets are looking very good, and I have to say it was worth the five-year pause. Looking at LOSS, I've noticed that the front legs are connected directly to the middle legs. I don't think that bodes well for the idea of having a Pewkii-like crawling function (which I was hoping for). Darn, ninja'd.

Does anyone remember in 2009 when bioniclestory.com released a summary of everything that had happened 2001-2008? Even as the bare-bones summary it was I remember that thing being so long my brother (who wanted to get into Bionicle) gave up halfway through. Just an example of how the story drove away fans.

I was too going to use the Transformers example in why I'm saying that a reboot would be good because 1)later iterations brought welcome changes 2)new takes on the same basic character are very refreshing and 3)diversity in the way the story is told leads to new developments that strengthen the franchise for the better. I doubt that the new Bionicle will have quite the same depth, but I certainly don't think that's a bad thing as it could give a chance for greater creativity from the story team instead of them being bogged down by past canon. I certainly don't want to leave my head buried in the sand.

I'm all for the apparent reboot, as it simply re-tells a similar story in a new way without invalidating the old one. I'd much rather it then a 'far into the future' continuation, as that sounds a bit of a cop out to me.

IMO, Pohatu could work as a Toa of Air- his mask is related to speed, which can be something associated with air and wind. The area he's in, the desert, can be seen as nothing but dust and air- in sense, his native element. A bit of a stretch, but it could just work.

I'm wondering if the polybags will even see release in the US this year, based on the poor preformance of the Black Brain poly. I believe they were still giving it away quite a while after the promotion started.

Looks like quite a nice haul! Sadly there didn't seem to be many Constraction fans at Brick Fiesta, but that did mean I was able to snag BA Stormer and Fire Lord for $15 from a vendor.
-
I'm going with Pohatu first also, because he's my favorite. Anyone given thought to how much these will be? I'm hoping it's in line with the $10 USD and $15 USD prices on the current sets, and betting that Lord will be a $25 USD set.

Ah, sorry. Had forgotten that they had kept the domain. I was thinking for a moment there that they had lost it completely. I think that an NYCC reveal is the likeliest because it will give them time to finalize the product, finalize the website, etc so that it can be launched at the press of a button. Slow trawling of databases and records, by frantic fans rooting from the source itself for any sign. I'm honestly not at all surprised.

Seems unlikely, as they just got the domain back and will probably be putting in the time between now and November getting it back up and running. I'm betting on the NYCC reveal mentioned before, if there will be one at all.

A warrior king desecrating the grave of a fallen hero to show how much he 'means business'. Man, that would totally work if Matoro hadn't 'been turned to energy'.

Favorite "obscure" constraction theme?
TheDesuComplex replied to TheGreatSpirit's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I've messed with a couple of them, and I'd have to say that I really loved the personality behind the Slizers, and I think the story was certainly going somewhere when it was terminated. -
That sounds a bit like a rumor created by someone hopeful that there were 'closer' versions somewhere.

I tried building the structure, and it's rather interesting. It doesn't have any give going to the left or the right (thanks to how it is connected to the bottom torso), but it has up and down movement. Due to how many joints are used though, it's super sturdy and will easily hold its position.

[MOC] evo war mech (BA rocka + scarox + evo walker + xt4)
TheDesuComplex replied to bacem's topic in LEGO Action Figures
This looks very chunky and well-made. Surprising that something so good can be made out of the smallest sets. Good job at using all the pieces, too. -
TRU was selling them about the end of May. I remember because I was able to get an order in before they were taken back down (only to be put up a couple of weeks later).

I have made a helicopter with it, but I haven't really gotten to trying it in a wheeled/tracked vehicle. I am planning to pull apart the 2009 Bionicle Vehicles sometime soon, so I just may try something.

I got 44012 Evo, 44013 Aquagon, 6221 Nex, and 6229 XT4 for $6 each at Ross, I'm scrapping them all for parts. I also got 44016 Jaw Beast and 44019 Rocka Stealth Machine to modify soon.

Hero Factory Brain Attack Heroes Mods/Revamps
TheDesuComplex replied to Takanuinuva's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Bulk is the best, mostly because of the fact that he actually looks bulky now! The shoulder armor works perfectly. All the others seem to have very little modification, but what you've got works well. I'd suggest maybe revamping their weapons like you )somewhat) did with Bulk to make them look more formidable. -
Today I got 44012 and 44013 out of the blue, for $6 each at Ross. Stocking up on HF because lately my supply has been running low.

It's pretty obvious that the bugs throughout the line are a re-use of the idea.

Darn, it sucks if these truly are cancelled.
