  1. Preppin' for Brick Fiesta 2013

  2. That is a truly terrible creature- in the awesome sense though. Great MOC.
  3. I took inspiration from the other sets- simple melee weapons. That's Trans Purple by the way, it's not used very much. I thought it'd be great to give him a trans color other than green or blue to help him stand out and purple seems to go well with black. Speaking of colors, he was entirely black and trans purple until I decided to make my two entries connected and I had to throw some orange in there, he was originally made with a ninja vibe. Blame the most recent Bulk for the shoulder panel. I put the bulbs in to seem like lights, the black surfaces there looked a bit too flat to me.
  4. Here's my entry, I tried the Raven's 'Bulwark' in action figure scale.... Chima_Bulwark.lxf
  5. Here's my entry into the 'Hero or Monster' contest, 41300 TITAN NEX: And Here's my entry into the 'Digital Hero' contest, 41301 STRINGER: Good luck with your entries everyone!I'm looking forward to seeing what amazing things you guys can make! [ ]
  6. I've always though they did it because of the threat of Core Hunter previously.
  7. That's where I moved the part to. I quite like it.
  8. 41301 STRINGER Defeat the brains that control the rookie! Attention STRINGER: The evil brains have made a beast out of Rookie Nex and must be stopped! We’ve equipped you with dual shock-blades, a sleek jetpack, an opening armored visor and hero core locking clamps. Now fly to the threat and fix your friend! • Features dual shock-blades, a sleek jetpack, opening armored visor, hero core with locking clamps, poseable joints and translucent elements • Take back Titan Nex's mind! • Lock the clamps to protect your hero core from the same corruption! • Wear fellow hero Rocka's leftover helmet! • Battle with 41300 TITAN NEX • Combine with 41300 TITAN NEX to create a powerful brain-annihilating super-hero! My own explanation as to why Nex and Stringer where not included in the Brain Attack series; that Nex was mutated by a brain early in the invasion and Stringer was deployed to take care of the threat. I created this with the intention of it being an unofficial set and I didn't want to use more advanced skeletons and complicated builds- just a similar hero to the ones already released. I'd say that his gear is somewhat inspired by Shingeki no Kyojin. Just a teeeeensy bit. Here's some (slightly) higher-res pictures: Head, Front, Back, Pack A view of my LDD-MOC: A view of his Jetpack: A view of the technic pack beneath. I just love dense technic on a Hero, there's something about it that feels vaguely robotic: I haven't really used LDD much recently either, so Constructive Criticism would be very appreciated![ ]
  9. Yeah, that was kind of tacked on at the last second to match his core. I've changed it by now anyway. Aaah,I forgot the higher-res pictures! Silly me. For his: Frontal, Brain, Hand (Sorry, I don't have much in the way of a quality camera or setup.) Yeah, the neck is the shortest bone. Without it it seems too short and with it, it seems too long. I've moved that Joker tie below his neck to seem like a sort of circuitry or conduit detail.
  10. 41300 Titan Nex: Friend Turned Foe! Be careful Heroes, for the ravenous brains will stop at nothing to destroy us! They have already made a grand titan out of rookie Julius Nex! Be wary of his actuated claws that cut through even the strongest alloys and his twin poison shooters! Neutralize that parasite to save your peer! Features removable brain, wrecking claws, barb-shooters, and brute force to take down any Hero! Attach the brain to turn a rookie into a beast! Shoot your foes with poisonous barbs! Disable the Hero Factory once and for all! Battle with 41301 STRINGER! Combine with 41301 STRINGER to create a devastating fusion beast! My own explanation as to why Nex and Stringer where not included in the Brain Attack series; that Nex was mutated by a brain early in the invasion and Stringer was deployed to take care of the threat. I created this with the intention of it being an unofficial set and I didn't want to use more advanced skeletons and complicated builds- just lots of orange and gunmetal. All images link to higher-res originals. An overall view of my moc: A view of the brain, that has a grip on Nex's central core inlet center. This is the first MOCI've posted on here, so Constructive Criticism is appreciated! [ ]
  11. The unfolding cockpit works out very well. Simply outstanding for a first.
  12. Lovin' the look of the torso. Not so sure about the limbs though, they could use a little bulk.
  13. I'd say so, since the ball joint is made to fit within the common technic system and many designs involve technic bits. I wouldn't exactly say it's a seperate system but more of a sub-system (akin to the pnuematics of Technic or the minifigure rods of System).
  14. Man, I love the new packaging over clunky canisters. It feels weighty and flashy instead of clunky and spacious. I store my sets in plastic baggies anyway, so the new packaging works well.
  15. I believe that translucent parts are made with a different sort of plastic- one that wouldn't be the best to make joints out of. It'd certainly be cool to see them made sometime- perhaps with the joints cast of the regular ABS.
  16. I'm thinking about just scrapping Bulk's drill completely and giving him a minigun instead, based off this piece.
  17. Alas, I doubt that this rumor is true. They might reissue a single figure here or there- but the point in them being Collectible Minifigures is to create a tight market. Re-releasing the oldest and rarest series is a completely illogical move from this standpoint. Is there any basis- such as employees receiving word of shipments or info leaked among the W2013 pictures- as to this prediction? Is so, I'd be glad to hear it.
  18. That reminds me of that one PR series where the entire POLICE HEADQUARTERS was a 'Zord. But, if that were true, would there be two assembly towers? I find it quite humorous that just the other day I was wondering when the prelims would come in- and now that they have, it feels really early. This theme. Oh, this theme. It feels like a bit of a letdown since the amazing designs of Breakout, but the pieces..... Earth Green....
  19. I dropped by TRU and picked up 6230 Stormer XL, the copy of 30163 'Thor and Cosmic Cube' that I got for free just barely made up for the markup.
  20. They were the upper arms of Rocka XL, just to let you know. I love XT4. Initially I hated his lack of armor and asymmetry but now it has grown on me. Also, I grabbed Stringer today and I loved him, besides the way his gun is built. Is there any more-stable-than-a-ball-and-socket solution out there for the inner construction anyone has come up with?
  21. Today, while running around, I picked up the last copy of 2182 Bulk 3.0 and 6282 Stringer. I adore them both, especially the transparent-blue chestplate on Stringer.
  22. That, in all honesty, is the most perfect villain ever. "Hey sunnies, I've baked you cookies~! OF DEATH!"
  23. I received 2143 Rocka, 2144 Nex, and 2145 Stormer along with 6202 Rocka from the Shop@Home sales for $25. I also dropped by Target and got 2236 Scorpio for $17.
  24. You do realize this is Valve, right? From what I've seen, Valve is pretty open to licensing and overall a great company. I seriously doubt that they'd not agree to a lego license.
  25. I imagine that, in his years of hiding, he either covered it up with armor or modified it in some way. If that were true, I'd actually find it very nice if the next Nebby has a Hero Core under the chest armor.
