  1. Both of these are artistic license that I felt the movies went a bit too far on, and I'm glad to see them gone. I liked the idea of Turaga as wise mystics, not as wise (literal) elders; I also thought that the organic parts they shoehorned into the designs looked far too ugly.
  2. I have a ton of the foot piece in gunmetal. Here's a list of all sets containing it. I'm all for Bionicle using Dark Orange in place of Brown. It's a middle between Brown and Orange and it works quite well as a more vibrant color that still fits as an earthy tone. Oh man, that sounds amazing, but I doubt it based on the low performance of the Chima sets. If only, if only...
  3. That means that if people reaaaaaally want the old Kakama (like I considered because it was my favorite mask) they can just toss Hewkii's on there. Can anyone with the parts say how well the joint in the boomerangs holds up? From TTV's preview it seems that they click like the Beast's jaws but I am not sure whether the pin really holds them together well enough to be sturdy.
  4. I really think that the Stone characters coming with 'Skull Scorpions' is that they can be considered the desert counterpart of spiders and that's a connection that kids can make, not in reference to Pohatu beating up a Nui-Jaga in MNOG. My purchasing plan is to get 1) Pohatu, Tahu, and Lewa 2) Gali, Onua, Kopaka, and LOSS 3) Protectors. I'm crossing my fingers that I am able to get them all on release day (which I have done with some Technic sets in the past, thank you for Lego Stores that reserve items), but if not I won't be in a rush.
  5. Yup, I've also built dummies of the Toa so that I can start planning out my mods. They aren't exact though, so I'm taking them as a grain of salt.
  6. Something (pretty off-topic) that I just realized... the Stone Protector's weapon is pretty much a pepper mill. 'Tell me when to stop.'
  7. Dang, I didn't expect there to be much backlash over TTV. I'm just glad for anyone who wants to help out. Thanks Aanchir for the parts also... I had forgotten that Jetbug was even a thing.
  8. TTv has published a of Lewa! I say 'review' because it's more of a preview, but ah well. Thank you for making these guys, and I'm looking forward to the rest of them.Lewa is confirmed for Apple Green! I thought he was gonna be Mata green this entire time. What constraction parts have we gotten in Apple Green and Flame Orange so far?
  9. I like his blue eyes, because they contrast the gold and red pretty well and make them stand out. I always hated the trans pink for Tahu's eyes myself. Shame about the eyestalks, because I was considering tossing in some Metru ones if I wanted to neuter the popper.
  10. I doubt that they'll have full-blown meaning, just that it's some sort of 'ancient runes' for decoration on mystical stuff.
  11. That was my first thought when we first saw that image a few days ago. It seems that they are throwing in some little ideas from Slizers, which is a good thing.
  12. As Aanchir said at the top of this page... Some retailers (coughTRUcough) put out January sets early to capitalize on the Christmas shopping season. With a hard release date from Lego of January 1st, we can expect sets to start leaking out early-to-mid December. Late November is a bit too optimistic though.
  13. The warhammer. It seems really odd to me, and looks more like an axe than some kind of hammer.
  14. This is the same color of shell featured prominently on Dragon Bolt, Surge (BA), and Toxic Reapa, right? Also, can anyone say if there's a real-life analogue to Onua's weapon?
  15. Sooooo jealous of you Aanchir, getting a clear Hau and a free Toa. What can you say about the relationships between the Protectors and the Toa? I can also say for certain from this picture that Pohatu's trans parts are in the trans neon green.
  16. They are in the pics that we got- if you look closely at the middle of the boomerangs you can see where the pins are connected into it. They're just hidden on the other side from what we see. Also mentioned is that they might have a way to angle them, which I can vouch for (given that I see a seam on the middle of the circular fan bit).
  17. Yup, that's mostly the extent of my mods; changing around armor and arbitrary asymmetry on most sets. For Brain Attack Breez, for example, I used spare lime paws (from an extra Hulk I got) as shoulderpads. I consider there to be a scale of modding: Level 0- Nothing changed whatsoever Level 1- Some minor changes Level 2- Major overhaul Level 3- Rebuilt in a different way from the ground up Level 4- It's an entirely different MOC in it's own right
  18. I love to mod my sets. I like to refine the set down to something more streamlined, cohesive figure. I've been meaning to post my mods for a long time also.
  19. A buff Kopaka in gigantic golden Uggs mumbling 'tahu sux', as his Protector scampers behind him like a dog.
  20. To be fair, I loved the Nyrah Ghostblasters. Their pneumatic function was awesome, and I liked that I was able to actually built them. I liked the Mistika too, but that's definitely an unpopular opinion.
  21. Hopefully it goes better then '06.
  22. The other day when I was at the store, I took a look at the 2015 Speedorz packaging. I have to say that it actually looks rather good and stylish, and I'm looking forward to seeing it used for Bionicle. It's amazing that they can fit a ton of bulky CCBS parts in it though, as it seems rather thin. I bet that, if it's like this, I'm gonna switch out the 4L with stops for some 8L with stops, it should bring his shoulders out to the same spot. I'm really hoping the design you're showing isn't that floppy in real life, but I don't have high hopes.
  23. A reboot is a much more logical way to start the new series off, shedding the old story and creating a new, stronger, more durable one.
  24. Between when they were made and when they were sealed away in their canisters, to Toa Mata were first training with Arthaka and his Hand (with members such as Axonn and Helryx). Later on they went to protect the Av-Matoran working in Karda Nui. If this is true, then it's a sequel to the original series and not a prequel (as it takes place after the Matoran Universe is destroyed).
  25. Looking closely at Pohatu's boomerangs, I think I might see a seam on the side of the middle fan detail, which would mean that they might be able to angle and articulate. Here's to hoping we don't get that, because I don't want floppy boomerangs that they would most likely be with that technic pin connection.
