Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Fives replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Just watched "Crisis on Naboo". One of the best episodes of the series, I thought! Seeing as not many other people have commented yet, I won't say too much till later. -
Watch the movies, or read the books. The movies save time, the books have WAY more info and detail.
-
I just noticed that Leia is holding something that looks like a thermal detonator. Either it is a plain silver stud, or it is a round printed tile.
-
I'm guessing that it is two, and one was accidentally put both on Boba. I think one should be on Boussh.
-
Ya, I agree with you on the Uruk thing, and I also doubt we will even see the Uruk sapper helmet. Also, it is kind of upsetting that the new Star Wars sets have been seen in a bit more detail (some of them), and yet no more news or pics has been leaked for about two weeks now. I am surprised that nothing has been shown. LEGO must really be keeping the LOTR booths under lockdown; I guess they don't want too much getting out.

Jabba's Palace is WAY better than I first anticipated! LEGO has done such a fantastic job, and I must say this new rendition puts the old 2003 set to shame. Jabba is just plain amazing! Also, Oola, the Gamorrean guard and Leia Boussh look spot on! As for the Gungan Sub, again, so much better than the old version! Obi-Wan's hair looks a bit out of place (should be brown), but him having a braid on his torso again makes up for the hair issue. Qui-Gon and Jar Jar looks the same. But the Queen! What a beautiful fig! And then of course the Skiff. The set itself is OK, but the figs are what this set is for. It completes the whole Jabba's Palace scene! With these two sets combined, the whole beginning bits of ROTJ can pretty much be reenacted! Also, Boba has printed legs!!!! (and two capes )
-
This is amazing! The playability is great, and the way you approached opening the ship is far better than most of LEGO's ideas. Also, it has the perfect selection of figs. I kinda wish this was coming out now!

The only way I could see LEGO pulling off a good Balrog would being going the same route as the crystal king from the Power Miners theme. I never bought it, but it looked really good and accomplished what it needed to well. It has been a few years since, so if LEGO did something similar for the Balrog, I'm guessing the design would only have improved.

This would make a great set, and it would be the prime place to introduce a LEGO Fell Beast!

I think that we will definitely see sets that will have all the Nazgul, just not all together. LEGO wouldn't for us to buy multiples of a set to get some very pivotal characters from the storyline. Also, I believe that Khamul, the most powerful Nazgul second only to the Witch King, will be making some sort of an appearance in one of the Hobbit films. But, don't quote me on this! I'm not sure, I just read a cast list a few months ago, and he was on it, but it may change.

This does sound like a massive undertaking. I have dabbled in making stop motion LEGO movies, but nothing very big. From the sounds of it, you don't have the LEGO collection to do LOTR. Anyway, I do have some advice on most of things you are asking. First, sound effects are hard to find for free online. The best thing you could do would be to take the audio from the films and match your footage with it. If you cannot do this, then you will just have to look on the internet a lot until you find what you need. Large buildings and armies is tricky if you have a small collection. If you can't accomplish huge armies, Photoshop can be a good help. As for buildings, you may need to look for ways to gather more bricks. As for fireworks, I'm unsure, but Photoshop could be handy here too. If you want some inspiration, this is the best LOTR stop motion video I have ever seen. Hopefully it will inspire you:

Looks good! Also, I found some info on the first episode of the four part arc that is the finale: "The first episode of a four-part season finale. Count Dooku seeks revenge for his betrayal at the hands of Asajj Ventress and the Nightsisters." The episode is called "Massacre", and here is a link to the page on Wookieepedia: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Massacre -
Another wish fulfilled could be a special One Ring mold! Solution to curved walls in a system set! Good orc army building opportunities! Much better giant spider design! The list goes on! Also, should we expect to see pics from the NY toy fair on Sunday night ( the night of the first day of the fair ), or Monday? I hope we see them Sunday night! The sooner the better!

I just noticed that the Endor set is actually a Kasshyyk set! You can tell because there is a little Wookiee ship next to the radar dish thing, and I think I spy a Battle Droid hiding between the two trees.
-
Now that you mention it, I do see it at the top! I would love that as a set! I would think it would be the closest thing LEGO would ever produce to an Ewok village, and it would go great with the other Endor sets! We need this!
-
This is really cool! The Watto bust is pretty cool, but I'm thinking that was replaced with the Darth Maul one. Also, those offices and workspaces are so cool! Thatnks for sharing this!

I'm actually upset at the lack of horses in these sets. I know there are quite a few, but maybe one more in Helm's Deep would have been good. I'm definitely using the horse in Gandalf Arrives as a battle horse for Eomer or Aragorn, but I just feel that the aren't enough to mount all of the characters on new horses without spending a lot of money. Also, anyone else surprised we haven't seen any more posters?
-
If there isn't a full throne room set up, there may still be some tables and chairs. I have a feeling that if there is a flag hanging on the other side of the inner wall, there may be a throne under it, and maybe a place to put Theoden's armour while not in use. There may be nothing, but given that the is a flag, I doubt the room will be totally empty. If it is empty, well, we can always mod it to our own ends.
-
I'm not surprised, but it is upsetting. It and the Gungan sub are the only ones I'm really looking forward to, along with the ROTJ sets.
-
Seeing as the toy fair is on the 12th, and the Palpatine's Arrest set is most likely an exclusive set, will will not see pics of it? I hope we do, because it is the one set I'm most excited for out of all the summer SW sets.
-
That will most likely be when LEGO releases pics and info, but we will see good close up and detail pics of the sets from the NY toy fair next week. Also, I wonder if LEGO will release more posters, like the ones with the Fellowship or baddies lined up, but for Haldi and all the Rohirrim. I can't wait to see how they do Theoden!
-
I actually plan on buying two of each of these sets. Gotta build up a good Orc army, don't want my Helm's Deep display looking lame! Also, on the topic of orcs, what weapons do people expect the basic Mordor orcs to have. We haven't seen them up close, but I really hope they make a new Orc scimitar mold, rather than just use the ridiculously cartoonish and oversized Castle Troll sword. I actually think one of the goblins in Moria is holding a flail...

I thought it was the best of the arc so far. I like the fact that Bane was put in charge at the end. And, Embo is possibly the most badass bounty hunter in the galaxy, up there with Boba Fett -
That would actually be fantastic. You could get Faramir, a ranger, and maybe three orcs. Man, now I really want that to be real!
-
I could never see LEGO doing that exact replica out of bricks. I am quite happy with Wethertop the way it is. It resembles the entire scene well enough to be recognizable, without being ridiculously large or detailed, which is what is so good about LEGO and licensed themes. They are able to take an iconic scene or place and transform it into a condensed brick version, while still keeping the iconic feel.
