I really hope so. Then again, we are only getting Gandalf the Grey this wave, and I don't remember any posters for FOTR with just Gandalf, but maybe LEGO will make posters of their own, which would be great.

Well, I've started making a new list, but I'm having so many ideas for large sets that I can't put them all in one wave, so I might just start making ideas for a bunch of really big (not too big) sets. I'm almost done my next list, and I'm excited to see what people think. Sorry about the double-post, but here is my second list of ideas for a third wave: Rivendell Exclusive: Minifigs: Frodo with reversible sick/wounded face, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Aragorn, Gandalf the Grey, Elrond, Arwen, Bilbo with reversible head so he can have his little Gollum moment, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, maybe two Nazgul on horses. Components: The Last Homely House, with a bedroom where Frodo can rest, Elrond’s study where he and Gandalf talk about the fate of Middle-Earth, and the room with the statue holding the shards of Narsil. Also, there could be the place where the council is held, and the blacksmiths where Narsil is reforged. And two Nazgul horses, one rearing and one not. Cost: $200-250 The Flooding of Isengard: Minifigs: Saruman, Grima, Merry, Pippin, four orcs, two Uruk-hai. Components: Tower of Orthanc, a small wooden tower where the orcs work, a big molded/brickbuilt Treebeard. Cost: $135 Attack at Osgiliath: Minifigs: Faramir, Madril, two rangers, four orcs, one Mordor Uruk-hai. Components: The shore with some ruins where the orc boats come up to the city, an orc boat. Cost: $85 The Bridge of Khazad-Dum: Minifigs: Gandalf the Grey, Frodo, Boromir, Gimli, two goblins with bows. Components: The bridge with a collapsing function, a big molded/brickbuilt Balrog. Cost: $55 The Paths of the Dead: Minifigs: Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, King of the Dead, two Dead soldiers (I’m kinda unsure how this could be possible, maybe just sand green figs with white printing) Components: The door into the Paths, some sort of cave section, I don’t know, this one is tricky. Cost: $35-40 The Mirror of Galadriel: Minifigs: Frodo, Sam, Galadriel. Components: The Mirror, the fountain in which the water is held, a tree with golden leaves. Cost: $25-30 Ranger/Haradrim Battle Pack: Minifigs: two Ranger, one with hood, one without, a Haradrim, an Easterling. Components: A tree where the rangers can hide, and a rock where the baddies can hide behind. Cost: $16 Elven/Uruk-Hai Battle Pack: Minifigs: two Elven warriors from Helm’s Deep, an Uruk-hai swordman, a Uruk-hai berserker. Components: a smaller version of the Uruk-hai ballista. Cost: $16

I was trying to really focus on the Siege of Minas Tirith and the Battle of Pelennor Fields. I'm Planning on making a third list that will have some more stuff like Rivendell (a big exclusive set) and Lothlorien, and maybe some sort of Black Gate set, or Orthanc.

Since we have now got a good idea of what a standard wave should look like for this new theme, I have come up with some ideas for a second wave. The Golden Hall Exclusive: Minifigs: Theoden King with reversible head so he can look possessed and old, Eowyn in white dress, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Grima Wormtounge, Gandalf the White, Eomer, two Royal Rohan Guards. Components: The Golden Hall, with interior details such as Theoden's throne, tapestries showing Rohan colors and symbols (horses) and some tables and chairs with food. Shadowfax, Brego, Asfalof, Snowmane. Cost: $120-40 The Siege of Minas Tirith: Minifigs: Gandalf the White, Pippin in Gondorian garb, two Gondor soldiers, Gothmog, Four orcs, a troll. Components: the gates of Minas Tirith, curved walls attached to the gate, Mordor siege tower, Shadowfax. Cost: $130 The Walls of the White City: Minifigs: Gondorian soldiers x4, orcs x6 Components: wall section of the White City, attachable to the other Minas Tirith set, Mordor Catapult. Cost: $80 Amon Hen: Minifigs: Aragorn, Lurtz, Boromir, Merry, Pippin, Uruk-hai scout x2 Components: Seeing Seat staircase thing, a brick built tree. Cost: $50 The Gates of Moria: Minifigs: Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Legolas. Components: The gates, some rocks, big molded/brick built watcher in the water. Cost: $35-40 Encounter with the Witch-King: Minifigs: Theoden King, Eowyn in armour, Merry in armour, Witch-King. Components: Snowmane with printed barding, fell beast made of new molds/brick built, some grass or a rock. Cost: $25-30 Gondor/Mordor Battle Pack: Minifigs: Gondor soldier, Gondor Tower Guard, Orc, Mordor Uruk-hai. Components: small version of a Gondor trebuchet, assorted weapons for both sides. Cost: $16 I've tried to make this list a bit more focussed on ROTK, so please share your thoughts and ideas. P.S. I've based the prices on what Canadian prices would be, just so you know.

It would be pretty stupid and upsetting if LEGO showed us this fig with a new piece but have no intention of making it. The Frodo fig has a new hairpiece, and they wouldn't fake that, so I have a feeling that this is an official piece, and possibly only one of many to come... I was also thinking, it would be really great if LEGO released pics like this over the next few months to promote the theme, with each poster having a new character. Maybe the next one will be Gandalf, and then Sam, then Merry and Pippin together, Legolas and Gimli together, then Boromir, maybe Theoden, and then Gollum.

Holy Hobbits!!!! That is amazing! The face is so perfect, and this also confirms that Anduril has its own mold!
-
50!!!!! Man, I wish I had that sort of money! I'll be lucky if I can afford two or three!
-
These prices are way better than I had been expecting. Then again, these are the US prices, so let's try to convert them to Canadian prices. Attack on Weathertop $50 CAD Gandalf Arrives $16 CAD Shelob Attacks $25 CAD The Battle of Helm's Deep $130 CAD Mines of Moria $80 CAD Uruk-hai Army $30 CAD

For a non-CW Mace Windu, they could easily just reuse the Seso head from the Prince of Persia theme. It would look great.

This is by far the best set of this wave! The ship is way better then the old version, and the inclusion of the platform and the droid thing. The minifigs are really what make this set great, though. The droids are not that big a deal, but Vader, Kenobi and Gunray are superb! Gunray is a way better fig that the CW one. Obi-Wan is just plain epic. The face is perfect, and the double sided face is just icing on the cake. But Vader! Wow! The Sith face looks a bit creepy, but it works great, and the angry side looks awesome. The printing detail is the best that has been done for any Jedi yet! Anyway, I have noting but great things to say about this set! Thanks for the review!

Palpatine's Arrest sounds very promising. I really hope that Palpatine gets a new face print, and double sided at that (one normal, one as Sidious). Also, I'm surprised at how many people are worried about CW figs in this set. Ever since TCW came out in 2008, not once has Lego mixed it with the PT or OT. Back in 2010, we got two PT sets (the ARC-170 and the swamp speeder), and both had normal looking minifigs. Lego may be frivolous with the place, ent of figs within the CW sets, but they have and will never put CW figs in non-CW sets.

I would not at all be surprised if the new horse is poseable. The new bear in the city sets is poseable, so why not a horse.
-
Yeah, I just took a look at the prices, and I am upset with the prices. The BPs used to be the price that the planet sets are at now, and all three OT ships are too overpriced. The Geonosis canon and the escape pod seem reasonable, and the interceptor makes sense for a exclusive. I'm definitely getting the CW BP, the droid escape nd the Jedi Interceptor, but the others can stay on the shelf.
-
Yeah, I was afraid of that. Oh well, at least reviews will be up on here soon and I'll be able to get a really good look at the sets.
-
Great reviews! The sets themselves aren't that amazing, but the figs are just fantastic! That new ARC is amazing, and the Sandtroopers just blow me away. I really hope these sets get to Canada soon so I can pick them up!

Has anyone seen the new Star Wars sets at Fairview yet? I'm probably gonna be therein Wednesday and I'm really hoping that they are here.
-
I was just taking a look at the prelim pics for the summer sets, and I noticed that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are new. I was thinking, could this mean that they have more detailed printing, like the new Anakin in this January's Jedi Interceptor, and could they have double sided heads with the aqua breathing things on one side. Either way, I'm excited to see. Also, I'm quite surprised that LEGO has made the ships from the Old Republic. It really is nice, though. The Fury looks great and I'm really excited to see more detailed pics of all the Old Republic figs, especially Darth Malgus.

I would love a set based off of Parth Galen and The Departure of Boromir. Amon Hen Minifigs: Aragorn (FOTR), Boromir, Lurtz, Uruk scout. The seeing seat of with some ruins and maybe a tree. $25-$35.
-
I sure hope it isn't Eomer in that set, actually. As much as I would love to get him, I want to buy two of those sets to add to Helm's Deep and make the Deeping Wall longer, but I don't want to have two Eomer figs. Even if it is him, they have done it wrong. Elmer doesnt wear a cape, yet that rider clearly has a green cape on. Also, the helmet is wrong. The helmet on the rider resembles the Rohan Royal Guard (the guys who stand at the door of the Golden Hall), and Eomer has a completely different helm design. The only thing that gives us a hint to it being Eomer is the body print, which looks like his armour. We will know in February.
-
I think that we will see all new weapons in this theme, except for bows. We will have to get new Uruk swords, and as for normal Mordor orcs and Goblins, a simple scimitar that is less cartoonish than the Castle Troll sword. As for Rohan, they could make just one new mould that could be used for both heroes and soldiers. The same could be done for Gondor and the Elves. Gimli could get a new axe head piece, that LEGO could just re-use for the multiple axes in Gimli's arsenal. Legolas could possibly get some new special white knives. As for Aragorn, Anduril would be necessary, but his plain ranger sword could be the same as Boromir's. Gandalf would need a special mould for Glamdring. The Hobbits could get a simple new mould, for Sam, Merry and Pippin, and a new mould for Sting.
-
I could see LEGO making new moulds for Anduril, Sting, Glamdring and maybe Orcrist (Thorin's sword in the Hobbit), but that would be it for swords. As for the Witch-King's flail and helm, they would have to make new moulds, at least for the helm. The flail could possibly be brick built.
-
It would be great if the sword was Anduril, but Aragorn didn't have it during that battle in the movies, so it's inclusion would make little sense. Still, maybe LEGO will just give it to him anyway, and save having to make the piece later.

REVIEW: 8827 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6
Fives replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review! This is one of, if not the, best CMF series yet! I have a question, though, about the Celtic longsword. Is is bendable or rubbery in any way, like the pearl bley swords from Castle and Kingdoms, or is it solid plastic? -
I was just looking at the new review of the Collectible Minifigures Series 6, and I was looking at the Celtic Warrior's sword. Does anyone else think that this sword could be used for Aragorn/Boromir/Gandalf/Nazgul? I also did notice on the prelims that the Nazgul in the Weathertop set both have what looks like a dark bley sword, but in the design of the classic chrome ones. Also, the Nazgul on the left of the box (on the rearing horse) has a sword that is a bit more pointy that the others. Also, Aragorn has the same dark bley sword in Helm's Deep. Could this celtic longsword be a new mould for this theme?

I disagree about Sam being kept as a bumbling sidekick in the movies, at least in ROTK. Sam truly becomes the hero in ROTK, especially when he is separated from Frodo on the Stairs. I know that this is not in the books, but I feel that this separation at the hands of Gollum only reenforces the Ring's power over people, and how Sam is the only hope for Frodo. Like Frodo says at the end of The Two Towers movie, Frodo would not have been able to do it without Sam.
