Does anyone else think we should be seeing a poster with Theoden, Eomer, Haldir and the Rohirim rider? I really hope so.

After looking at the close up pics in more detail, I've spotted a few things: The two orcs do have white pupils, but they just aren't as noticeable in the orange and green eyes. Also, the Uruk has a section of white between his eyes, which makes me think that all of the Uruks will have a white hand on their face. As for the hobbit caps, Merry and Pippin seem to have the new short capes in the new olive green color, rather than dark green, like Frodo's.

Yesterday I got the two new BPs, the Geonosian Canon, Droid Escape, and Anakin's Jedi Interceptor. I built them all in about 40 minutes. I'm very pleased with all them, especially the figs. Obi-Wan is great!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Fives replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Today I found two highlanders and four minotaurs by touch and feel. The minotaurs were easy, and surprisingly enough, the highlanders I found due to the hair, arther than the sword or shield. -
These are just amazing! Gollum is perfect! I know that he doesn't have the most poseability, but it seems like he is the kind of fig that looks great, but doesn't get played with much, much like the new Sebulba. Boromir looks fantastic, and the highlander sword looks fine for these figs. The Uruk-hai is awesome, and I'm really excited to see more of the face and body print. As for the two orcs, they both looks really good, and LEGO has done a fantastic job of making them looks different enough but similar enough to be recognized. Simply, I'm amazed, and cannot wait to see more pics and buy every set when they come out! Bravo LEGO!

Having the elves arrive at Helm's Deep is not the worst change of the films. I would think Faramir taking Frodo and Sam all the way to Osgiliath was pretty stupid, although it did serve the purpose of showing a bit more character development with Faramir, cause in the books he is not tempted by the Ring at all, which seems strange for a man.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Fives replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I was thinking that too. I would love a Raako Hardin minifig, and an Eval fig. Also, that preview for the next episode was really cool. I love all the different bounty hunters. I wonder if Embo will survive? -
This pretty much sums it up. Anyway, I just finished watching The Two Towers, and it really is amazing how true to the source material LEGO has made Helm's Deep look, yet still being able to keep the LEGO-ish feel.

All this talk of how the orcs and goblins are reffered to in the books is becoming irrelevant to the discussion of this theme. The sets are based on the films, and all the Minifigs will appear as such, despite how Tolkien used the words Orc and goblin interchangeably.
-
Yeah, LEGO wouldn't just ignore the substantial difference in appearance between orcs. We will, or at least should, see quite an amount of variety within the ranks of the forces of evil by the time this theme is over.
-
I could see this happening, but as one big set, and with no Gamdalf and Gwaihir. I think if anything is to be split up it will be Moria and Minas Tirith.
-
In the books, there is very little differentiation between orcs and goblins. But, in the films, there is a huge physical difference. The goblins are much shorter, and have spindly arms and legs, similar to a bug of sorts. Also, they have large eyes and green skin. The orcs, however, vary quite a bit. The orcs under Saruman's control have green skin but red eyes. The orcs of Mordor have variations in skin color, ranging from green to red to grey. They can also vary in height. Then the tallest and most sophisticated of the orcs are the Uruk-Hai. They are as tall as a man, if not taller, and are known to have a reddish skin color. Just thought I would try to clear that up.
-
The reason for sand blue is that, in ROTK, many of the orcs that attack Minas Tirith have variation with the color of their skin. The orcs bred to attack the White City are a special breed of orcs that have more skeleton-like faces, and some of them have blue skin, while others have tan skin. The orcs of Isengard ( not the Uruks) have green skin, so I could see the orcs in the Orc forge set having that skin color. Also, I've noticed some people are saying that he orc forge has some Uruks and some goblins, but could it just be that the figs from the two sets got mixed up, like at some past toy fairs, where people will move the figs around.
-
Ya, this is the best way for LEGO to do it, and I believe it will become a trend with most orcs who need it. Also, on the discussion of variety in orcs, I wouldn't be surprised if we get three different Mordor orc colours: olive green, sand blue and tan/dark tan. Then, on all the olive green heads, they would have the same two expressions on the front and back of the head. The same would be done for the two other colors. This would allow for six different Orc faces to be available, which would cut down on cloned orcs considerably.

I was just looking for more info about the NY toy fair, and it said the dates are Feb 12-15. Now we know how long to wait.
-
I think the Orc forge is based on the forges in Isengard. I wouldn't be surprised, if there are five figs in total, to see two Uruks and here basic orcs. This would mean you could have the workers forging swords and armour, and have the Uruks arming up and going to war. I'm planning on buying two, just because it is the only set (I think) will have normal orcs in this wave.
-
So I've been drooling over these pics for a while, and I've been wondering how many other people think that Helm's Deep is on a dark tan baseplate? I really hope it is.
-
Well, if you don't consider the next couple of weeks at h NY toy fair, then no. Also, the deliberate misspelling of the sets is really annoying and disrespectful to Tolkien and his amazing work.

On the topic of the new horses. Gandalf Arrives has one. How I know this is by the head of the horse. Not only to all the good guy horses have a white streak on their face, but also all of the new horses have a new head. You can tell because it just looks less blocky and edged than the old one, making it fit better with the new cows and chickens. Not only does it have poseable legs, it is just a completely new horse all together.

As most people know, Evangeline Lilly will be in the two Hobbit movies, playing an elf named Tauriel. I just read something about the character (I don't know what website it was), and it shed some light on what should be expected. Apparently his new character is an elven warrior, and she is the head of the Mirkwood guard, a big deal in the army. It also said she uses a bow and two daggers. This means that, for sure, we will get this Tauriel in the new Hobbit sets, and I think she will make many people happy, as a fig and for parts.
-
Okay, I'm probably starting to sound a little annoying, but I just noticed something about the Gandalf set. If you look at the zoomed in pic, you can see the shadow of a sword in Gamdalf's left hand, which means he will have his sword in the set. Also, in the Helm's Deep set, you can see a small function that allows you to "throw" Gimli onto the causeway and attack the Uruks.

Saruman will appear in the Hobbit films, but it is still unknown whether or not his role will be worthy of being put in a LEGO set based on the Hobbit. His role in LOTR is much more significant, and it would be stupid if LEGO didn't make Saruman in an Isengard/Orthanc set. We will see him, we just don't know when. Also, after seeing that Aragorn will have his ranger clothes in the Weathertop set, does anyone else think he will have the proper design for Helm's Deep? During the battle, he didnt just wear his plain ranger clothes, but wore a shirt of chain mail under a leather jerkin. I've always loved Aragorn's Helm's Deep outfit most, so I really hope they do it. I've also noticed hat one of the Uruks in the Uruk army set is holding the classic LEGO halberd axe piece, which means probably no new pikes. And lastly, I looked at the zoomed in pic of Balin's Tomb and could tell that Boromir's sword looks more pointy than the traditional LEGO swords, so whatever mold it is, it will be different. As for his shield, I would not be surprised if they used the new shield mold for the Rohirrim for Boromir.

Eomer is a man of Rohan, not an elf. Haldir is the other elf in this wave, and he is in the Helm's Deep set. As for Shelob, she appeared in the Return of the King.
-
At first I thought it was a pickaxe, but the piece in the set is too long, and the top blades are shorter. Also, a pickaxe would make no sense in a forge.
-
I've noticed one thing about the orc forge set. Not only does it have some Uruk swords, but I believe there is at least one or two berserker swords here as well, which is good, because I don't believe the Uruk berserker has a sword in the Helm's Deep set, just a bomb.
