I wanted to read everything first, before I would reply. So I did, and I think this is the first time since 42056 that I read a full review. It's a pleasant read and I agree with practically everything you say about this set. Your photos are excellent! I bought this set, because the new power up parts were a must have for me, simply because they are new. They are big, but with the attachment points they offer, they can be used to add rigidity and coherence very easily. That makes them very versatile imo, and this characteristic was also essential to my B-model. I feel very honored that you built and showed my B-model. It was a pleasure to make it. The limited number of parts made it a real challenge. You have to believe me that I still know the number of pins of all types from the top of my head .

[TC17] Mad Nomad - Finished
Didumos69 replied to Didumos69's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I decided to share the 3D files of this model. Stud.io file and LDD-file. Note that the LDD-file has placeholders for the biscuit-pieces (sand blue) and has some displaced parts (sand green). It should be fairly obvious where these parts belong. The sand green 3L axle with end-stop at the bottom of the front axles is used to slightly lift the 20t gear above it with its end-stop. -
19. Mad Nomad Shortly before the apocalypse a fully electric concept vehicle was developed, which carried the name Rocky II. It was ready to be taken in production, but the apocalypse crossed out that ambition... After the apocalypse, survivors found the remains of the Rocky II prototype. The batteries had turned useless because there were no charging points anymore, but an old 7.8L (478 cubic-inch) GMC V6 engine was installed to drive the vehicle and charge the batteries at the same time. Mad Nomad saw its first daylight... I turned sick on sunday and have been feeling a bit shaky the last few days. I managed to finish things today, but the video is a bit shaky too and I did not have the chance to make outdoor footage (the weather was terrible anyway ). I received this email the other day. Is this the influence of TLG on bricklink?

One of my favorites so far. The finery is not overdone and the integrated taxi is very MadMax-ish. -
[MOC] Rocky 42099 B model

I appreciate your efforts to further improve this model, but in this case I doubt if this is an actual improvement. I can't imagine the 2L thin levers would actually touch the surface of the frame, not even under stress. The round end of the lever has radius smaller than 0.5L (0.45L to be exactly), so the axle would need to bend quite a lot to make the levers touch the frame. The depth of the smaller levers on the other hand, is exactly 0.5L and the depth of the thin bevel gears is slightly smaller than that (because they need to run smooth even when they have only 0.5L space). So imo using the thin bevel gears instead of the thin levers would slightly increase the chances of slipping gears inside the body differential. -

Thanks @scooper22, @amorti and @Philo. I will try to incorporate this in the instructions, using stock parts only, but that won't be soon. First need to finish my TC17 entry. -

Thanks @amorti and @Philo for the suggestions. It would help me and probably also others if you could illustrate your modifications with some pictures. -

Correction, it's in fact a 7.8L (478 cubic-inch) GMC V6 engine: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_V6_engine
