THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
Hewman replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
+1 for Natelite. Superb communication and great packing and speed of shipping, couldn't be happier!!! -
The long technic piece under the a-wing platform might be like in the bat cave, so rather than being a way to launch the ship, it may be a way of rotating the ship around on the platform.

I'd love a bigger version of the 7264/7166 Imperial inspection, not UCS size, but one where you can squeeze in Han et cetera as they make their way down to Endor. The earlier models just didn't have the room in the cockpit. However, I guess this set may never be made as it would be reasonably expensive and isn't really a battle ship like the bigger sets tend to be.

As a massive Classic Space fan this should be a dream come true for me, but unfortunately it's not. There are a couple issues with these packs: 1. They're very pricey $30 AU for 5 figs, making them 50% more expensive than a star wars battlepack with 4 figs and a bunch of pieces and a big amount of licensing costs. 2. I have no desire for any of the other figs, meaning I'm paying $15 per classic space fig. 3. They won't match my collection of classic space figs because of the modern helmet and as someone stated before the logos aren't positioned in the same place as the original figs. So what could be done to fix this, make these sets them related, space, castle, town, pirates et cetera and I'm sure a lot more people would get them. If I could get 5 old school space figs for $30 then I'd have no hesitation in buying them.

About the price and the demand for...
Hewman replied to The Alchemyst's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well on bricklink 35 people have it on their wanted list, however, there have only been 3 sales in the last 6 months and two were for less than $120, so I guess it depends how cheap it's going at your toy store. -

I guess most of you have now seen the fantastic new star wars magnets for sale on Aus shop at home. If anyone from Aus is putting in an order there, I'd be happy to pay part of your shipping plus your costs to ship to me in Adelaide (say $55 for two magnet sets shipped to me). I'm on the straightshooters list here and excellent feedback on bricklink, and am happy to pay in advance to a trusted member here. PM me if you're interested. Cheers Matt -
The howling wolf is a magnificent touch, well done.

Fantastic choice of head for Angela!
-
I think it's excellent, I like that you added the extra touches of set 928 (497 in the US) like the base and the vehicle. I love how the back opens up like the actual 928. The only very minor criticism is that the back end that open my be a little too chunky (but seing there aren't such things as half width bricks and plates I can't see how you could have done any better), but overall I think it's great. Edit: Just noticed the mini baseplates, magnificent!

Personally, I'm disappointed in these sets, but then again I doubt 30+ males are Lego's key demographic. The new head molds are interesting and it looks like there's plenty of playability for kids, they're just not for me (a child of the classic space era). On the plus side I can save more money for all the other great stuff to come out later this year.

Let me think, about once a year around Christmas at Myer and or DJs. That's too long a wait for me! -
Yeah, Adelaide boy here, not that it's a secret, I'm sure I've mentioned where I'm from when menitoning sets I've seen on clearance. Not a problem. Yeah, those chrome hilts look lovely, but they are very expensive to replace. If you look at the sets that have just come out, they have this sort of shiny but not chrome look to them, which I'm sure is much cheaper to produce than the chrome and looks a lot better than the light grey ones. I'm sure someone else here will know for sure but I think it's called pearl silver. Capes aren't cheap either, my local dealer I mean stockist sells them for about $5 a pop. In Adelaide we're lucky to have a store that sells spare parts as well as sets called Toy Corner.

I don't think anyone has pointed it out but the DS trooper is behind Han and Leia in the bunker, you can see it on the bigger pics if you look closely. It's yet another reason to buy this set, if you needed one.

Hi Alan Welcome! There are heaps of us Aussies here, you'll find a lot of us discussing the latest sales and availability of sets down under in this thread Aussie sales. Great to have you aboard, this is a great place for Lego fans, particularly star wars fans. Matt PS For spare parts, do you know of bricklink? bricklink. One very good seller is Brett at Maxspace Maxspace Lego

Huh? Why is that redundant, am I missing something? Anyway, I love these little creations, I think I'll have to get out my space and fabuland lego this weekend to see what I can come up with.
-
Where are the dementors?
-
Great stuff, two fantastic themes from my childhood. I might have to classic spaceify some of my fabuland figs with a few spare classic space stickers I got off a guy on ebay. As for a black fig, the crow here Fabuland crow would fit in pretty well for Blacktron. Also available with a red helmet (at least I think it's red, red-green colour blindness can be a problem when it comes to Lego).

As promised Aussie sales

Welcome Michael, great to have another Aussie aboard, there are quite a few of us here. We have our own thread devoted to Aussie Lego sales which I'll link you to tomorrow when I'm not on slow dial-up and it won't take me ten mins to find the link, unless someone wants to beat me to it. Cheers Matt

People are bagging the stickers (probably justifiably) but it does have one great consequence, the price of the 2x2 white triangle signs that are used in the star wars snowspeeders will drop considerably. Only two sales had been made on bricklink over 6 months and one was for $11 US each! And whoops, forgot to say thanks for the very nice review!

My toys r us in Adelaide has a couple star wars sets on clearance, the magna guard for $69.99 and V-19 Torrent for $79.99. Plus the shelves are looking pretty empty, maybe in preparation for new stock coming in? -

Well there are the shop at home sales, although quite a few 'sold out's are appearing now, particularly with the star wars sets. Don't worry in a few weeks many new sets will be available and we'll all be trying to find which shop stocks which sets first, so we can have a mad dash around the city/suburbs to get our lego fix. -
Actually they're not quite the same as the IG-88 as IG-88 has two arms the smae as eachother whereas these have one arm each with the 'hands' facing opposite directions. Mind you it takes two seconds to make one into an IG-88 by either using the spare piece that comes with the set or doing some arm swapping.

Can I ask where you got these figures. The Falcon price is nothing like I have heard from a very reliable source (posted many pages back now), it'd be more like $60. Also the Echo Base price I believe was much closer to $40.
