  1. Welcome! As has been said there are heaps of Aussies here on Eurobricks. We even have our own dedicated sales thread, I'll find the link and come back and edit this post when I get a chance.
  2. Definitely, mainly for dioramas. I have multiple x-wings, a-wings, snowspeeders and ties (of various kinds) and I often buy extra parts to build more speeder bikes, both the Hoth and Endor versions. If I could afford it I'd have multiple AT-ATs too.
  3. Great work and a big thinks for sharing. Have you thought of including many sets in your minifig shots?
  4. OK, just went to order one, $2.41 for torso, $25 shipping and up to 25 business days to get it, I think I'll pass on getting one in the flesh for the moment. It might be best to wait until they appear on bricklink.
  5. Someone briefly alluded to this in the thread on PAB prices but didn't show a pic, and it probably belongs here anyway. Interstingly it even uses the old style helmet. My apologies if this has been shown already, but I hadn't seen it and I keep a pretty close eye on classic space info. link to torso on brickshelf Edit: I knew the torso looked familiar, my apologies to Darth Legois who has been using this as his sig fig for weeks
  6. My insticnct says classic space but there's no doubt it would be modernised and I'd be constantly comparing it to 'the good old days' so I vote for something cool that I don't have the same emotional attachment to, Fabuland!
  7. I don't know what shop at home is doing with their pricing, the town plan up $13 but now the motorized AT-AT is not on sale but the regular price has dropped by $20 to $230.
  8. This is one of the very few OT star wars sets I've owned and then sold off. Both the tie and y-wing are very blocky and simplified compared to their later counterparts the 7658 y-wing and the tie advance from the huge tie set with 4 ties in it. Because of the very high standards Lego set, I couldn't do anything but vote this below average (by Lego's high standards). I don't have the latest tie to compare it to but I imagine that's a more sophisticated model than the one reviewed here. For anyone thinking of picking up this set I'd strongly suggest that you invest in a newer y-wing instead. Thanks for the review!
  9. Brilliant review. I do like how they used the head from the chef minifig, even though it does creep me out a little bit (that's my own issue, I don't need to go into it here). So how'd the cake taste? On a serious note, it's good to see a review of the quality of the some of the gear lego sell, surely they couldn't have got things too bad with ice cubes tray though. Perhaps I should review my classic space logo cap.
  10. As much as possible I've tried to update with new flesh heads, although the top of some of the torsos where the chest is exposed are still yellow and don't quite match. But I like the consistency of having almost all flesh heads.
  11. I think they occasionally do this, I bought a medical helicopter set a couple years ago and the sticker sheet was small and I couldn't find it and it turns out they had stuck it to the instructions, maybe because this one was so small that it could more easily slip through openings in the box. Anyway, I agree, putting them in the instructions might help prevent some cases of damage to stickers.
  12. Well for total craziness, this is the best entry so far.
  13. I've looked at about 20 entries and while some others are very good, this is the only one I'd be prepared to buy if it was a real set.
  14. Fantastic review, brilliant photography. I've always found this a bit of an under-rated set. Because of a lot pf people not being a big fan of the set it can be found at relatively good prices (compared to other sets of the same era), although you will still pay well above original retail price. Like some others have said the only down side is the lack of figures or for me more precisely the lack traditional minifigures (not droids). Although if you add the little companion sets that came out at the same time with it and theminifig count for the three sets is pretty impressive.
  15. Very creative, eti. Well done, it'd add a new dimension to story telling to a child if they played with the Lego at the same time. I congratulate you on a great MOC or should it be series of MOCs?
  16. Yes it does include Lego and also starting Thursday is 15% off Lego at K-mart which in many cases makes prices about the same as Target's 20% off (even cheaper in some cases I recall from past sales, like the rogue shadow)
  17. Svelte_corps, my condolences to you, your family and all your minifigs affected by this tragedy. I don't know what you can do to make this better with Lego as obviously you wanted this stuff quickly but there's no way you should tolerate such bad shipping.
  18. Big W has some good sales starting on Thursday, mainly power miners and those creator type pirate and castle sets Lego on Lasoo
  19. I'm not sure if this is old because the only info I could find about when the sale ends was in the terms and conditions saying prices will be available until 21/3/09. Also at least at the Adelaide toyworld there was no discounted lego last week.
  20. Most if not all toyworlds are franchises so I'd be 99% confident this is limited to one store. Also 75% seems excessive even for a liquidation sale I would have thought 50% off would move stock exceptionally quickly.
  21. Brilliant review, you have done justice to this greatly underrated set. I got it for around $70 US last year or the year before and it was definitely worth it, the quality is fantastic, printed pieces everywhere, chromed pieces and the brilliant Zam minifig.
  22. I'm not a big fan of episode 1 at all but this set is beautiful and was a pretty good price here in Aus of $150. I ususally stick to episode 4-6 sets but I was very tempted to get this one.
  23. Hi Achilles, welcome to Eurobricks, I guess technically you posted an Aussie sale of sorts. I think you'll have a lot of trouble selling the yoda fig for $10, the market is flooded with them since the magnet figs came out. Maybe someone out there will be willing to trade some other lego for it with you.
  24. I jsut went to the Toyworld in Adelaide which is pretty well stocked, but no sign of the 7751 Ahsoka's Jedi Starfighter. February release date pfft
  25. The new star wars lego book with bonus exclusive Luke minifig due for release in September is available at a discount price of around $15 US on amazon.com. Good news is they ship to Aus and it was about $10 US for standard shipping (about 3 to 4 weeks). So all up about $40 AU which isn't a bad buy.
