  1. Excellent, thanks for letting us know!
  2. Ahh, I remember one of these sales well where I got the Dwarves' Mine for $52.50 at Myer before it was released anywhere else. This isn't a sale just for Myer card holders is it?
  3. According to bricklink Yellow classic spaceman
  4. yeah I was very glad to see that, but the yellow spaceman was definitely not around in 1979. Edit: I stand corrected according to bricklink, the yellow fig was available in 1979 in some very rare minifig packs, yet didn't make it into a regular set until 1982.
  5. Am I allowed to enter my copy of this? 6940 Well it is a total classic space rip-off of an AT-AT. OK, it wouldn't exactly be a MOC.
  6. The one thing I often modify is to replace stickers with a similar printed piece if it's available, and as has been said before, the occasional removing of shooting functions. Oh and reinforcing sets for extra strength, this happens in a few sets where the designers had to compromise stability with cost/piece count. Edit: I also make my speed racer cars right hand drive, a really complicated modification there!
  7. Ah well I'm colour blind, but I do know they're a different colour to the two type of troll helmets I already have, so it's all good
  8. I was told by a reliable Australian source a while back that RRP would be $39.99 which I don't think is too bad. I'm sure the first wave to hit the shops will sell quickly but with a bit of patience there'll b eplenty around for the 15-20% off sales. Mind you, if they're $40, I'll be grabbing two straight away, not because I'm flushed with cash, but because I'm an ESB tragic, particularly anything to do with Hoth.
  9. Great find svelte_corps! Edit: a big thanks to Tinn-man as well for finding it on bricklink! A cheap way to get some gold helmeted trolls, brilliant!! And what, those fabulous ragged capes as well, the variety with this set is spectacular.
  10. Thanks for the creative review! I'll be honest; with these figs and a taun-taun I'd pay full price for the set even if it just included 3 1x1 white plates to represent snow on Hoth and it came with nothing else. This time last year you may have been able to get two snowtroopers and a Hoth rebel for that price but that's about it. Plus the Hoth rebels now have those fantastic goggles.
  11. Welcome, Jeff It'd be great to hear a bit more about you. What themes are you into? How long have you been collecting? Cheers Hewman
  12. The green hair is great, I love the safe. The minifigs are pretty good, I like the $ sign on the back. Besides that, I have learnt that if I don't have anything positive or constructive to say about the set I should say nothing. Thanks to TheBrickDaddy for bringing us this review!
  13. This set is absolutely beautiful, thanks for the pic. I'm hoping it's around $100 AUD, then I can justify getting it from shop at home by buying two (shipping is crazy in AUs for S@H). To someone that has grown up in a country where Christmas day is usualy very hot, there's something so appealing about snow and ice at Christmas time.
  14. The troll king and witch are fantastic figures and their capes are brilliant. However, the set as a whole just doesn't work for me, bley just doesn't seem like a troll colour.
  15. Do my eyes deceive me or is there not even a hint of a sticker sheet there? Woo hoo!

    City '09?

Thanks Legomilk, I love the kid with the remote control car. Lego sure are putting a lot more short legs in sets now.
  17. Welcome to Eurobricks, and what a magnificently comprehensive first post. You did a great job!
  18. Finally got myself the black and white Fabuland bear I've been after for ages, plus a few female heads and hair pieces.
  19. As a lover of blacktron 1 and the snowspeeder I have to say this is magnificent. Welcome to Eurobricks. Oh, and before you finish, I reckon getting the dust off some pieces will make it even more appealing and pull in a lot of votes. Edit - whoops just noticed KimT beat me to the punch on the dust, I recommend a soft small child's toothbrush (not one that currently belongs to a small child, otherwise they'll get a mouth full of dust and develop a phobia and have to spend their adult life at the dentist)
  20. I'd prefer not to see topics like this here. This is because it's a pretty harmonious place and such topics can arouse some very strong feelings in some people that may cause unnecessary conflict here. To the starter of this thread, I have noticed that there are several members here that put references to Jesus in their sigs, when you come across them, maybe send them a private message. I'm not quite sure why there would be a need for any specific religion Lego fans group as Lego is inherently non-religious. Of course MOCs with religious themes are very welcome and there are some fantastic examples of these around the place. Peace Hewman
  21. Over 20% off the already good prices on construction sets at Big W, starts Thursday.
  22. OK, I rated this 'below average' but I don't hate it, it's just below average for Lego's standards. Like others, it's the technic construction of the vehicles I don't like, but the figs are good and I love the gold dinosaur, in fact, this alone might encourage me to get the set if it's fairly cheap. But thanks for the review which showed us everything clearly so we could make up our own minds about it. Thanks for spending your time and effort on it.
  23. Give the guy a break! General, thanks for showing us these sets, and it'll be great whenever you get around to showing us more detailed reviews. Some of us actually do understand that people have a life beyond doing what others demand on a lego fan site.
  24. Duplo Polar zoo, ok maybe it's for a gift, although if it was in system scale I'd get one for myself in a second.
  25. What is up with that? Surely the bidders were joking, it'd take one old 50 cent minifig, 10 mls of petrol and a match to get the same result.
