  1. These sets are really growing on me, I love the box art, the craters give it a bit of a classic space feel. I think I'll be getting multiples of the K-9 set.
  2. pretty cool looking set town developer set but check out the price, over 20 cents a piece and just a few town figs.
  3. Thanks for those pics, Whittleberry, those huge power miners figs look great. It looks like Lego are putting a bit of effort into promoting Power Miners, even my local K-Mart had a display in a clear plastic cabinet of a few Power Miner sets, it looked pretty nice but nowhere near as impressive as what is in Melbourne Myer.
  4. I don't know if it was the same in NZ but for Aus shop at home, obi wans starfighter was half price a week or so ago! Might be worth keeping an eye out.
  5. I regret selling my 4502 x-wing, does that count? I have a couple 6212 re-issues but they don't have Yoda's hut. Besides that, not too many regrets, thankfully I have managed to get my hands on everything I really wanted. I like the 6209 but don't regret not buying it because I thought it was over-priced in Australia. Oh wait, the Geonosian Fighter 4478, I wish I could have got that at RRP, but now it's not worth it to me at current market prices.
  6. Apologies if this has been mentioned but a couple of the mars mission sets are now half price on shop at home. I think these are a recent addition to the sales. Also General Grievous is in an 'on again' phase of the on-off 50% sale shop at home seem to be doing, mind you with the over supply I've seen at k-marts I'd be expecting them on clearance at some stage anyway.
  7. Usually I'm a stickler for not voting for something I don't have but I just love the look of the DS trooper. The Rebel Trooper would have won for me but the fact that their helmets seem to be pretty loose and come off easily means I just couldn't vote them as my favourite even though they look great.
  8. Yeah it was supposed to be out in February but it hasn't nade it to Adelaide as far as I can tell and I've looked at all major retailers.
  9. As there are very few Australian sellers of older star wars sets it can be hard to tell. One that does sell older sets is www.toycorner.com.au Some I think are very well priced while others are over-priced and it's cheaper to get them from overseas. Otherwise search by Australian sellers on bricklink, check their store policies and convert to Aus $s. Brett at maxspace often has older star wars sets MISB. The set you linked to is pretty rare, but it's also small so wouldn't be too expensive to get shipped from overseas. Looking at bricklink, you'd easily get one shipped for less than $90 AU from a number of overseas countries.
  10. 30 years for me too, some time this year. I had a few old town sets before I started collecting classic space in 1979.
  11. I guess I've been a member here for a couple years (too lazy to check exactly how long). I'm a child of the classic space era and some of my faves from childhood were the 918, 6927 and 6970 which probably means nothing to those not into classic space. ALthough my late teens to early 20s were a time I didn't get into lego I was smart enough to keep all my childhood sets including their boxes. These days I collect star wars (mainly episodes 4 to 6) as well as some of the lovely new castle and city sets. Thanks to Legoman for starting this topic!
  12. Nice find, there wasn't anything obvious to show they were up, but after a few keyword searches, voila, there they were.
  13. Most bricklink stores don't have a physical outlet. Toy Corner is at Modbury near the Hungry Jacks opposite Tea Tree Plaza. In other news I just went to my local toyworld during my lunch break and they have a lot of last year's star wars sets including battle packs which are getting hard to find. They also had the sandcrawler and a couple Belville sets. All at full RRP, but still less than you'll pay for them elsewhere now that they're hard to find. Oh and they had the two pirate impulse sets too, $5.99 though which I thought was $1 above RRP but I could be wrong.
  14. I don't know what difference that people are detecting that they "can't quite put a finger on" but my magnet minifigs feel exactly the same as any other lego fig.
  15. I assume you know they're both owned by the same guy? Fortunately I live a 15 minute drive from Ozparts (ok I have no idea why I felt the need to share that, but I wasn't meaning to rub it in!)
  16. That's a nice collection as it shows many of the boxes but for pure size there are much bigger ones around. Just a few weeks ago someone posted pics of a collection that had to have a couple hundred classic space sets, obviously there were multiples of some sets there. Well worth searching for the topic if you're into classic space.
  17. Great work. It really has a genuine movie feel which is very hard to get. You seem to have got the scale just right. For some reason I can't take my eyes off that beautiful shiny floor.

    City '09?

Hey I didn't want to imply it can't be appreciated by the most masculine of grown men as well as young girls!

    City '09?

Although not a fan of the camper, as it reminds me of traumatic childhood holidays and at the risk of being labeled sexist I think it will have a fair bit of appeal to young girls.
  20. To get all us old classic space nuts that aren't overly keen on space police to buy this expensive set, and it just might work too!
  21. Yep, it was in Adelaide as well, but I resisted the urge to spend, now if they had the next waves of OT star wars sets there I would have gone crazy.
  22. My lovely magnet sets arrived this morning, thanks Natelite. I revceived the dooku/yoda/ mace and obi/chewie/vader ones and they look brilliant.
  23. Correction - pic
  24. I was reading all the comments on the Falcon before seeing the pics and was thinking , hmm, no minifigs, this isn't going to be good, then I saw the pics and it's a really nicely detailed and totally swooshable which is a big plus, I think I'll be getting it now.
