  1. what can i say other than that it is great  I upvoted your project on lego ideas, but lego always rejects technic-projects. It's worth a try though.
  2. nice work!!! but he videolink has a . on the end. the link does not work now, unless you remove the dot
  3. well, i don't expect to see it in the porsche, but it is possible as this guy shows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1G2SylEllg
  4. the point about LA's is, you have to lead an axle all the way to the motor, or use you hand. pneumatic tubes are flexible, and thus much easier to make a (motorized) crane with. and about the crane that drops, if you switch gently, the air will not pop out all at once and it goes down slowly.
  5. For the non-dutch people. In case you are wondering whats written, i made a translation. The site says: This is my translation, as litteraly as possible: LEGO Technic 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Description experience the iconic 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS with this authentic LEGO Technic replica. Provided with a detailed bodywork, cool rims and brakedisks. Build the cilinderblock, open the doors, and look at the working gear box and the steeringwheel with shifting-pads. This orange monster is a must for every collector. In the box, you will discover a special collectors-book with interviews from LEGO Technic en Porsche teams. just like 4 original design-rims with the RS-emblem. The Technic 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS set is part of theme New.
  6. this is the 2nd topic if i have to believe 'technic jim', but i will try to help you anyways It depends, if you need much power for steering. If yes, i would use an L motor, and if it is easy i would use a m-motor. maybe you can limit the rotation, to max a half revolution. If not i would recommend to slow it down, otherwise the gears start slipping, and/or you can't position the wheels to straight forward.
  7. thanks, I am wondering what you can come up with. I haven't stopped building in the mean time, I modified it into a container truck. I used 8052 as example I haven't made i video but i've token a few pictures. oh, i also put the crane a bit backwards because there was room enough, and it couldnt turn properly. and now, it does: 1. here it is normal, you can see 2 DBG beams 7L, this was used instead of the H-beam 2. Here is it halfway, the cilinder is pretty flat so you have to help it a little bit before it gets in the air. 3. here it is on the ground. When you're almost at the end, the container just drops because the cilinder is almost straigt/in line with the 'hook' 4. here it is at its lowest point, it comes low enough which i like i almost didnt modify the bed/container. I only put the hook on it and some beams on the bottom so it doesnt slide sideways when driving. just like 8052 5. The hook is going back. 6. And finally, The MB is ready to go home  what a bad picture though. the end of the hook was a bit difficult because it rests right above the gear box. luckily, there were 3 beams in a row so it can rest there. you can also see that the width is 7L. I made this so that the bed does not slide off. under the bed i put a few beams. I also wanted to make a 10x10 version of it, but that is pretty difficult because the room where the axle is, is pretty small, and have to attach it in a different way because the differential is so big. But then i have to rebuild the whole chassis on the front and i don't want to do that. i hope you liked it
  8. Hey blackbird, I just checked out technicopedia and it contains lots of information. But There's still stuff to do, it is not completed yet. The last update was on 12 july 2015. I understand that it is a lot of work to make a proper site, so i thought, can't we help you a bit with making the site? There is not a single essay about a 42 _ _ _ set I would love to write a essay about 42043 for your technicopedia or about something else. You would have to check if you like it and if it is good enough to appear on the technicopedia but i think it will save you a lot of work. What do you think about it?
  9. well, i as a starting AFOL, I totally believed it i was getting some doubt when you began about the 10-axle crane. and when i scrolled further, i saw that it was a joke. BTW: your post is posted at april 2nd according to eurobricks. yeah right, seems legit...
  10. today i build a 10x6 version of the arcos. I was surprised nobody else did it. i basically added an axle. I'm going to move the crane a bit forward so it has room to turn around. I also want to make it 10x10 rather than a 10x6, so basically adding 'drive' to the front axle. If only i had working IR receivers i would make it rc but they're both broken so that's not going to happen. maybe later.
  11. it only mentions youtube video's. But its alright. the photo shows enough.
  12. i have also a short video. filmed with my mobile phone. but i don't know how to share it here. if i copy the link that i see, you probably have to log in to my account to see it. if you know what i mean. nevermind. it should be pretty clear.
  13. i made a small mechanism for you. it's not that difficult as you may think you can see everything on the image i think. 2 thin lift arms 3L and 2 thin liftarms 4L. use 2 axles 3L and tadaa ;)
  14. Don't take it too serious. I like it and you (i hope so) liked to build it. So who cares about that one blade ;) You can make one with three is if you reallly want to.
  15. If this topic only gets useless posts, (which it does imo, and this one included), can't you close this for a little while untill we get more information and have usefull stuf to discuss? same story with 42056-topic. -Edit: sorry for another useless post.
  16. more blue? the BWE(42055) comes in dark blue, doesnt it?
  17. yeah but TLG knows a lot that we don't know and maybe it is not such a shame as it looks to you right now. we don't know what is/was wrong with it.
  18. well, promobricks gives the same weight(4,8 for box, and 3,8 kg estimated for car). so it could be true but maybe they got it from the same source which told them wrong. who knows...
  19. i used a turntable and a gear to steer the trailer. it didnt work though. There was too much backlash and the trailer did'n steer properly. Maybe a linkage would work. see cumulonimbus' post
  20. there is not a 'bump' or something at the end, otherwise you wouldnt be able to build a circle out of it, and the teeth should be normal as well otherwise you can't use normal lego gears. so i think it would work
  21. I absolutely agree with that it contains loads of useful information. but ehh, I don't want to be rude but (when) are you going to update your site? last update was july 12, 2015 and many sections of the technic fundamentals are still in work.
  22. i was wondering: who detemines the colors of the set/part? let's take 42039(24h racer) it is green. 1. does the designer choose to use a black part here and a green part there (except for things lik 5x7 frames or 3L pins) 2. Does the designer make a set from just one color(black or LBG) and is there someone else choosing the colors per part, which fits best? sorry for heading (too) much to 'sets' instead of 'parts'
  23. it is more than 2 years old but i love sariel's minigun!
  24. well, i defenitly like it . This is a crazy huge build and i would never be able to do something like that!! Did you use real life mechanisms to make everything work right?
  25. Do we, as AFOL's, have any influence on TLG? Hello, I have a question (you probably already saw that ;) i was like: I understand that it is not the goal of eurobricks but, we have for example a future whises topic. Does TLG do something with that? Is someone at TLG reading these topics for work? I could have asked this in the general discussion but i also would like to know if we had influence on the techinc/mindstorms line because that is the only theme i care about. and what exactly is the embassy? thanks!
