  1. I have. The answer generally remains the same. In fact, considering most of the people who worked on Bionicle lived and worked in Denmark, I'm curious which non-European employees you'd even be able to talk with (authoritatively) about Bionicle and its decline. Greg Farshtey and Kelly McKiernan come to mind, but that's about it...
  2. I dunno, Nexo Knights already has a ridiculous number of main characters. I think we'd be more likely to see Robin and Ava graduating to become full knights before we see many other characters being added to the main cast. Which wouldn't be a bad thing... imagine, Trans. Light Blue and Trans. Br. Bluish Violet ultimate armor for them!
  3. Definitely not. They were one of the FIRST stores in my area to have the 2016 Bionicle sets in stock. It's possible that it's just your store that no longer carries them... but even then, it might just be a case where they sold out of their current stock and will be getting more in eventually.
  4. Actually, this piece might be even more useful for that purpose. You could easily attach one underneath each of the flippers, and then attach the fig to regular studs.
  5. They have—both the Imperial Flagship and the Kingdoms Joust would arguably qualify. But there's really no telling whether it's realistic to expect something similar from the 2015 Pirates theme. It is possible, particularly since the last large ship set, MetalBeard's Sea Cow, was recently discontinued, and Lego might want something to fill that void.
  6. The Trans. Fluor. Green ribcage is appearing in Umarak the Destroyer this summer. Still, Scorpio's not as bad a set as some people make him out to be, and the Titanium Metallic spider leg pieces seem to be remaining exclusive to him. Skull Warrior's mask is also a different color than Skull Grinder's (Titanium Metallic as opposed to Silver Metallic). All in all I think all the Skull Villains bring something interesting to the table, but keep in mind that as more recent sets, they're likely to remain on store shelves for several more months, and it might be worth waiting for some more substantial discounts.
  7. Hm... I can't help but feel a LITTLE miffed that we didn't get a more substantial airship for her... but I suppose this is better than nothing. It's a nice model for a polybag, at any rate. Also, does it bother anyone else that the U.S. Lego Store Calendar for March doesn't even mention Lego Elves? I would think that'd be a high-profile release, but even the back omits it in favor of Minecraft, Ninjago, and Speed Champions, and Juniors Disney Princess.
  8. I don't think the Avatar sets sold all that well, considering no others were released after the first wave (unlike Spongebob, which continued for many years). And to be honest, I'm not surprised—the sets and figs were not the best, and it released early in the series before it had necessarily become quite the hit it was during Books 2 and 3. I myself was not even a fan when those sets released—it was only after catching some Book 2 episodes on TV that I really got a feel for how special that series was. Of course, the poor sales for the old Avatar sets are not necessarily a good reason not to consider it for Dimensions—like some of the failed Ideas projects that have found their way into Dimensions, the minifigure-centric Dimensions packs could offer older, short-lived licensed themes a new lease on life. I think the bigger issues would be a lack of current media (Avatar and The Legend of Korra have both concluded, and apart from the graphic novels there's no new media on the horizon), and the big unknown that is the licensing arrangement between Lego, WB, and Nickelodeon. Also, Avatar's elemental martial arts fantasy traits might be deemed too similar to Ninjago, which is already well-represented in Dimensions. Speaking of failed themes, I wonder if a Speed Racer pack might be a possibility. I don't think things based on the movie would necessarily be realistic, but the original TV series hits a lot of the same nostalgia buttons as other franchises like Ghostbusters, Scooby-Doo, and Back to the Future, and they could do interesting things with an adventure world or even a story level if they put a heavier emphasis on racing-based gameplay. Just a thought.
  9. As a fellow Wii U gamer, I really appreciate your review. I got The Lego Movie Videogame for 3DS—and returned it once I realized that the cinematics (basically just ripped from the movie) were the only parts with voice acting, and that the gameplay resembled the 2D isometric games for the Game Boy Advance and DS, rather than the more "console-like" gameplay of some of the recent Lego Super Heroes games. I was really satisfied with Lego City Undercover (enough to reach 100% completion), and currently Lego Dimensions has my interest and will probably occupy me for some time. But maybe I should give The Lego Movie game another chance eventually.
  10. I'm partial to Axl's Tower Carrier myself... such a cool vehicle, with just the right blend of Castle and Space influence. That opinion could change as we get closer to release, though.
  11. There was something that actually happened more than ten years back, the "Legends" line... but that was a failure, and everything I've heard suggests Lego has no intention of repeating that. Rereleasing older sets is not a recipe for success. Castle sets in particular would not be easy to remake since not only have colors changed (such as the old grays and brown), but a huge number of the older molds have been replaced or retired (including all raised baseplates and most castle wall elements). The result is that any "rerelease" would be hugely inauthentic, which would only further decrease demand for those sets.
  12. This is nice—a great size and overall shape, and amazing functions as well. But one minor criticism—there seem to be an awful lot of curved slopes. While curved slopes aren't entirely absent from the Nexo Knights vehicles, they seem to opt for harder angles in most cases. Perhaps you could, for instance, replace some of the curved slopes on the wings with flat tiles, cheese slopes, or even parts like 61409. Don't forget that you can leave space for Nexo-licious parts like the 2x3 shield tile or 1x1 pyramid slope, as well!
  13. I don't think that part exists. Sorry.
  14. I find the actual Reddit post much less interesting than Mark Stafford's response to a commenter there. It gives a much fuller picture of the actual timeframe involved in the production of the Ghostbusters Firehouse, thoroughly debunking the idea that it was in any way "ripping off" the Ideas proposal. Apparently development of the headquarters building started before the Ecto 1 was even announced to pass review (likely to help determine just how big they could make the Ecto 1 and still have it fit in a feasibly-scaled firehouse, and to figure out where else they could take the theme from the initial debut as an Ideas set).
  15. I don't think Nintendo packs are that likely, just because they would be faced with the choice of making the figures work on non-Nintendo systems (which Nintendo probably wouldn't like) or making them ONLY work on Nintendo systems (which WB, Lego, and possibly even retailers wouldn't like). Nintendo did have exclusive toys-to-life figures in a multiplatform game with Skylanders SuperChargers, and the figures only worked on Nintendo systems, but in that case they only included the exclusive figures with starter packs to help avoid confusion from consumers. Since Dimensions already has starter packs for all systems, and those are unlikely to change in the years ahead given statements by Lego and WB Games, they can't pull off the same trick for it. Of other Ideas projects that made it to 10,000 but failed to pass review, the only new franchise that seems like a good brand fit and does not have complications like with Nintendo or Disney properties is Adventure Time, and we're allegedly getting packs of that in the coming year. One that didn't reach 10,000 but which I think would be a fantastic fit for Dimensions is The Legend of Korra, but the chances of that are debatable considering Lego currently doesn't have any licensing arrangements with Nickelodeon.
  16. I seriously doubt it. Not only will the storyline involving the beasts probably be resolved by then, but next year's winter wave will probably follow the same pattern as this year's and last year's—a new wave of Toa, a set of smaller sets to go with them, and maybe one villain character.
  17. Zusammengebaut just shared a showcasing the boxart for the Stealth Raider. I had already been smitten with the Raider itself... but I only just realized that Chen's vehicle features his special chair! About time we got that in a set!
  18. Nice. It'd probably look even cooler if you painted the legs and hair black as well!
  19. Mini-dolls may not be your cup of tea, but they definitely have some advantages over traditional figs, and the Elves figures highlight them about as well as any. They're gorgeously detailed, with highly detailed skirts and printing like detailed eyes, dresses and shoes the likes of which you just can't get on regular figs. They're not quite as posable as minifigures, but on the other hand, they're also more realistically proportioned and compact than traditional figs, allowing for things like a Pegasus Sleigh that seats four figures without being excessively sized. And they pair well with the unique and colorful animal life in the sets. I'm sure if you wanted to to get the sets and didn't care for the figures, you could find someone on a site like this who would be happy to take them off your hands. P.S.: I just noticed when putting that smiley at the end of my post that Eurobricks could probably use a set of Friends or Elves smileys. Probably never gonna happen, though.
  20. The Nexo Knights app somewhat explains them, though it's unclear whether the show canon will feature the same explanation. In the app, the rocky shields are "shields of absorption" which allegedly have the ability to steal the knights' powers. This hasn't actually taken place in the parts of the app that are currently available, but is presumably how the villains can access Nexo Powers considering that the knights themselves download the powers directly from Merlok.
  21. Given the timeframe involved with set development and the recent push for realistically-disabled figs in Lego, I doubt it was anything more than a happy accident. Still, that makes the inclusion of a wheelchair in a Lego set even better, since Lego presumably recognized the need for disabled representation even before advocacy groups made it a major issue.
  22. Maybe... but who would want to buy the rest of that set and NOT have the dragon to go with it? Maybe only someone who already had one of that dragon set and still wanted to expand the castle further... and even then, they might rather buy the parts individually than buy an entire complete section of a set.
  23. I think those unicorn horns are actually silver, which is not new—but still nice. The same technique is used for stalagmites in the Queen Dragon set and the Shadow Castle.
  24. In the Elves set? It's how the Bright Reddish Violet slopes on the back of the Fire Dragon's legs seem to be done. It's most visible in this picture. Based on how those legs are built I can't see any way it could be SNOT, and the same applies to this new Ninjago set.
  25. Again, I think we might see the two in a theme together if it's a "crossover" theme like The Lego Movie or Lego Dimensions. After all, those two themes already feature both yellow-skinned figs and fleshies existing side-by-side—throwing in a few mini-dolls wouldn't be a huge leap. But I agree that we'll probably never see both minifigures and mini-dolls in most general themes.
