That sounds reasonable. The biggest set is likely to have three or four characters—if it's indeed the museum, that'll likely include Blathers and possibly Brewster alongside one or two villagers as visitors. No telling about the other two sets but the closest price comparisons have one and three characters, respectively. It's possible that some characters will be repeats but most of them should be new—so far the only repeat characters in the theme have been Isabelle (in two normal sets) and Julian (in one set and one polybag).

Super Mario 2025 and onwards - Rumors & Discussion
Lyichir replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Licensed
It just occurred to me that it's probably not too long until we get a look at at least some of the summer Mario sets (if they do a reveal on Mar10 day like they did last year). -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Lyichir replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Another aspect of making the sets easier to identify is unscrupulous people are less likely to just tear open a bunch of boxes to find the ones they want (which in the past would be way easier and less time-consuming than the feel method). So yes, scanning being easier may make it so that desirable figs get bought quicker, but from the retailer's perspective I'm sure they prefer those figs getting bought at all instead of valuable figs getting stolen and a bunch of opened, unsellable products being left in their wake. -

A Mario Kart maker kit could be interesting... I'd be especially interested if it had additional gliders (since the only one in the sets is specific to Mario, so having ones for characters like Luigi or Peach or less character-specific ones like the parasol, cloud glider, or parafoil would be nice). More track barriers and start/finish lines based on iconic course types like Bowser's Castle or Rainbow Road would also be fun, though less essential (since compared to foil parts like gliders, track sections are easy enough to MOC). Not sure what sort of karts would be most appropriate for a set like that... maybe something the classic Pipe Frame (a kart from more recent games that's based on the stripped down go-karts from Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64). By the way, since my last post here I built the Baby Peach and Grand Prix set. Very pleased with the three karts in it, and Baby Peach is a very cute new character build. -
I mean... it's more than "tend to", that's kind of the point of them. All of them reference either the Lego House itself, Lego history, or often, both (in this case, for instance, this set both acts as a tribute to Lego Fabuland and a tie-in with a current Lego House exhibit on the theme's history). New Elementary has some behind-the-scenes stuff from the reveal including early versions of some of the builds and elements like a vacuum cleaner and scooter that didn't make the final set: https://www.newelementary.com/2025/02/revealed-40506-lego-fabuland-tribute.html. Should be great inspiration for anyone seeking to make a larger display based on these!

814 pieces is the most parts any set in the theme has had so far... maybe the museum? 543 pieces is more on par with K.K.'s Concert at the Plaza or Nook's Cranny and Rosie's House (personally I'd hope for something more like the latter, since we've only had two house sets so far despite getting increasingly more villagers). 149 parts is closest to Bunnie's Outdoor Adventures, and might be another outdoor-type set since it might be too small for a full building—maybe something themed around another season (I'd love more fall-themed sets with things like mushrooms), or an outdoor event like a Fishing Tourney.

LEGO City 2025 SETS - Leaks, rumours, discussion. (Animals too)
Lyichir replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I wouldn't say it looks just like it... the opening sides of the trailer are structurally similar, but the trailer as a whole has different dimensions, different exterior detailing, and some important internal build variations to allow cars to roll in and out easily, and the cab is completely different. I don't think the similarities of the opening sides are by any means a deal breaker—when something works there's no reason to throw it out, especially when you're making changes to everything else. -

Zane's full storm suit (with hood) still doesn't come in any of the other sets yet, does it? And the set where he wears it without the hood is almost as expensive as the Dragonian village set, with an even less impressive 4+ build.- 768 replies

Since migrating my main public social media to Bluesky (https://bsky.app/) from Twitter, I've missed being able to automatically embed my posts when I link them in a comment here (for example, sharing a social media post with MOC images). Would it be possible to implement embedding of Bluesky posts? This is both a request and a query, I genuinely don't know how embedding is done or if it would be something that could be implemented separately or if Twitter embedding is baked into the forum software.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Anyway, on another note... I finally came up with a City Space MOC that I'm satisfied with! It's a Power Miners-esque rover for FebROVERy. I'd been toying with the idea for a while but only just got down to finally bringing it to something resembling completion. I doubt I'll be able to get ahold of the parts to build it physically before the end of the month, but I'm still proud of finally breaking through my "builder's block". https://bsky.app/profile/lyichir.bsky.social/post/3licygeuw5s2r -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I still don't think there's any reason at all to assume the current licensing terms would forbid a space theme even if it's not called "space" but would allow for a Lego City theme with sci-fi spaceships and aliens that has "SPACE" in huge letters on every box. The reason 2024 Space was in the City theme (and Friends, and Creator, and Duplo, and Technic, and Dreamzzz) was that it was a huge cross-theme promotion across many of Lego's themes (including some of their most successful ones), arguably bigger than any single theme would've been (and able to synergize with existing fans of those themes instead of competing directly against them). Disney would have to have some pretty crappy lawyers if they negotiated a contract that was meant to forbid Lego space themes but allowed a loophole that gigantic. -

I think both look really good! Love the use of those roof slopes for the shoulders! In terms of preference, I feel like the one on the right looks a little more interesting and distinctive thanks to its unique color scheme.- 768 replies

Reviews of the workshops are starting to come out! There's some nice features and details I had missed in the initial photos. Mechanically, the way that the mech platform actually comprises two sections (including steps that deploy when the platform is near the shore and retract when it moves outward) is a brilliant feature. There's also some great details on some of the interior walls of the buildings, including a stage curtain in Dorama's theatre and portraits of Zane, his falcon, and Dr. Julien in Zane's room. The sticker sheet also includes eight alternate cockpit stickers for the mech, corresponding to each of the ninja—pretty much an invitation to customize the mech frame in the set beyond just the armor details that are included.- 768 replies

MOC: NINJAGO City Workshops (Mini Modulars)
Lyichir replied to Adeel Zubair's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I should've known you'd do one of these! Like your previous modules, this is great-looking! An especially fun detail is how the build of the mech in this somewhat resembles the model kit from the "Ninpla" store in the full-size model!- 1 reply

Lego headphones and vacuum tube amplifier
Lyichir replied to kraai's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Very cool details on the amplifier! -
My thought (which unfortunately I can't demonstrate visibly since I don't have these gears IRL and don't think they're available on digital building software like Stud.io) would be to use two 2x4 bricks on the four Duplo studs to convert to System connections, and then use a part like this on the System studs to add an axle hole that you can use to connect a driving axle. I'm not sure how sturdy this would be, but that's the basic idea.

I don't think we've seen any pictures (even leaked ones) of sets as far out as August yet.

LEGO City 2025 SETS - Leaks, rumours, discussion. (Animals too)
Lyichir replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I would assume beyond whatever the train itself looks like, the cargo might be mainly arctic vehicles or scientific equipment and if a station/platform is included it may be designed like a more remote arctic base (as opposed to an urban train station/platform). -
Since the bottoms of these gears are designed to rotate freely on Duplo studs, I imagine it would be hard to reliably drive these from underneath. It seems to me like the easier way to connect parts to power the gear would be via the top of the gear (with the Duplo studs that can be used to easily convert to System parts using 2x2 or 2x4 bricks) rather than the back. If the orientation of the gears is essential you could use one of the smaller gears backwards as a driving gear to allow the larger gear to face forward.

Mattel announces new brand of building blocks similar to Lego

Really without pictures of any sets it's hard to judge the merits of this new brand (we don't even know what sets it apart from Mega Blox/Construx apart from name). -
LEGO City 2025 SETS - Leaks, rumours, discussion. (Animals too)
Lyichir replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I grew up with the former set but think the latter one looks like a more interesting build experience overall, plus looks more realistic (with two side-by-side seats like a real vehicle).. In general I don't miss the days of four-wide vehicles with more basic builds and more abstract appearances. -

Thanks for all the positive feedback on the mod I made! Not that it was any massive creative endeavor (just a minor part substitution), but after several years of MOC block that has kept me from completing very much in the way of full MOCs, I'm glad even a little modification like this can be well-received and contribute some small ideas to the community. -

Here's some quick and dirty pictures of the modification: https://bsky.app/profile/lyichir.bsky.social/post/3lhwec47bys2s My order also included a handful of other parts that I hope to maybe use in MOCs related to the City Space theme, including lime green elephant tails/trunks for a potential larger alien build and satin trans-purple 4x4 rock wedge pieces to maybe use for a larger energy crystal deposit. -
Great MOC! The lighting of the lava really elevates it. I don't see a ton of Lego Minecraft MOCs but this might be one of the most impressive ones I've seen.
