LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Also possibly of interest to old-school builders... looks like the Minecraft sets are introducing 6x8 plates in trans blue and trans orange, the first time we've had large transparent plates like that in a while. Now the question is, how long until trans yellow ones make their grand return? -
Friends set pictures are out! The unicorn in the pool set is indeed a pool float... but there is also a white horse with a pink mane in the costume party set ornamented with pegasus wings and a new unicorn horn piece (this one with an accessory pin instead of a 3.2mm bar). This allows it to fit on Friends hairpieces and animals (as here) as well as plushies (which it's used for in the comic shop). This new unicorn horn piece is also transparent (suggesting it'll be hard plastic, unlike the larger unicorn horn which uses a rubbery material). Other animals in the Friends sets include baby pandas and shetland ponies, as well as some new cats in the Cat Birthday Party set.

BTW don't know if it's been mentioned here, but there's also a small streetcar/trolley in the Friends Plant Café and Flower Shop set. Not powered or anything and doesn't come with track but it does look like it'd be compatible with track if anyone was interested.

Super Mario 2025 and onwards - Rumors & Discussion
Lyichir replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was thinking more in terms of one that could be launched from the launchers like the smaller shells in the other Mario Kart sets. That'd need a new mold but I think it'd be worth it for one of the most iconic Mario Kart items. -

Aw, very cool! Though it makes me realize we still don't have one in scale with the other playsets... I kinda expected a mold of that to show up with the summer sets, but I guess not. -
New Friends set pictures are up on JB Spielwaren! https://www.jb-spielwaren.de/lego-neuheiten-2025 There's SO many cool things here, almost none of which even leaked beforehand... The comic and game shop set has the characters in some very cool cosplay, with Nova in a Star Trek-esque Classic Space outfit and Aliya in a cool elf costume. There's also some awesome features like an alien plushie with antennae, a Lego set box homaging the Space Police III Galactic Enforcer, and a working gachapon machine! The controller mascot character outside is cute as well! The Family Holiday Beach Resort looks very cool, with a large beachfront area and very distinct architecture utilizing roller coaster track for the peaked roof. The Costume Party set is really zany, with very funny costumes for Olly, Zac, Paisley, Autumn, and even Churro! Speaking of Churro... he gets his own BIRTHDAY PARTY! Attended by many of the other cats we've seen in the theme as well as a new one, a fluffy grey cat named Bear (so cute...). Also cute: the Pony Ranch and Stable, with small dopey-looking little ponies! I also like the sod roof and wood stove, and the lanterns decorated with the hobby horse head piece. The Music Shop and Apartment has another cute mascot character, this time a music note. The last one that jumped out at me was the "Friendship Movie Night" set, with an outdoor screen and a light brick to project one of two movies (fantasy or sci-fi). Very cute small-ish set.

LEGO Dreamzzz Ongoing Rumours and Discussion.
Lyichir replied to Agent Kallus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
JB Spielwaren has pics of all the new Dreamzzz sets: https://www.jb-spielwaren.de/lego-neuheiten-2025/ The Paint Truck looks very neat and retro (like something from an 80s action figure toyline). I like the new pink character (villain? not sure), and it looks like Albert has a dark blue Classic Space helmet and airtanks! The Nightmare Shark Submarine looks great too, and the alt build looks great (changing it to a hammerhead shark). Logan and Astrid's new designs look very cool! The Fire Chameleon looks awesome, I love its very distinctly chameleon-like body shape. Dreamling Logan is here and looks good. Not as much rebuilding for this one, mainly changing the cannon/saddle to a flyer and Z-blob mech. Zoey's Time Owl looks INCREDIBLE, maybe my favorite set associated with Zoey so far. It's very elegant in a way that Zian didn't quite pull off. Rebuilds into a more boat-like shape (sort of reminiscent of the titular Time Machine from the 1960 movie). We'd seen the very cool looking Cyber Brain mech, but now we can see the alt build. It's mostly changes it to quadrupedal and gives it some scorpion-like claws and tail. -

Probably not the most interesting to Technic builders but one of the Mario Kart sets also has Technic cams in dark azure.- 5,506 replies

Super Mario 2025 and onwards - Rumors & Discussion
Lyichir replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Licensed
I can see how that would be a lot of parts—the castle build has a lot of small detail pieces like spikes, and there's two decent-sized karts one of which is driven by a large character. -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
As a non Sonic fan I kind of love the truck—seems like a very fun playability-first set, perfect for a cool guy like Sonic to hang out in. The mech looks cool as well. -
Yeah, regular parts like windows usually make it to PAB even if they debut in licensed sets—it's mostly things like licensed character parts or specific props that don't.

So many good sets! The horse and toucan are both great with great alt builds. The haunted house is nice as well, and I love the thematically appropriate alt builds there (ghost train/ghost ship). Ditto for the retro phone with its old-school cordless phone and cell phones as alt builds. The unicorn castle is super cute and I love the bright candy-like colors, and the horse knight castle follows in the footsteps of the previous 3-in-1 castle by having two very distinct alt builds that look like they can connect together.

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Lyichir replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If the candy colors aren't to your taste, you could make a white one with the foal from the 2022 Advent Calendar and the wings from the Cupid CMF. -
New sets look very nice! I'm glad we're getting some more houses since the January wave didn't have any. Great selection of villagers too.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
My sister just pointed out to me that apparently this Lego City magazine from last year gave names to the commander/squad leaders from the City Space sets! The names listed are Alf Centauri (gold commander), Stella O'rion (blue leader), Saul Flare (green leader), and Kev Larr (orange leader). I really like these names—they remind me of classic character names from the Lego Mania Magazines I grew up with, and seem pretty fitting for these unique character designs. -

New parts added to Pick-a-Brick, including the Space torsos from the City Galactic Spaceship. I know some people here were waiting on those. -

I mean, there could certainly be room for it! Would be a little surprising to debut a new fig that way though. Or maybe a red space baby could be debuting in another not-yet-revealed set? At this point all we can do is speculate. Red would certainly be nice to have as one of the two "original" Classic Space fig colors. -

Very cute! Though red is a somewhat surprising choice considering the actual space baby piece has yet to appear in that color. In any case, it looks cute and impressively accurate. -
Lego sets visible in movies and tv series

Whoa, that's honestly some pretty good attention to detail, considering how many flashbacks/period pieces I see that fail to use period-appropriate Lego releases. -

The Kai motorcycle set looks nice... nothing too special from a longtime collector's standpoint so I probably won't get it myself, but it does seem like a good value.- 768 replies

LEGO City 2025 SETS - Leaks, rumours, discussion. (Animals too)
Lyichir replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I'm curious what the astronaut in it will look like... high chance it's a figure/uniform we've had before, but it'd be pretty cool if it were, say, one of the "commander" characters (gold, dark blue, dark green, or dark orange) in a Futuron-inspired uniform like the ones from this year's spaceship. Of course, by the same token it'd be a shame if we got a uniform like that for only one of those... so maybe it'd be for the best if it's just a repeat astronaut design. In any case I agree that the Space-themed part of the tower is the most interesting part for me, but I'm not opposed to the rest (I think it's a really appealing composition) so I might be interested in getting it even if I don't normally collect Police, Fire, or Construction. -
Super Mario 2025 and onwards - Rumors & Discussion
Lyichir replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not much discussion of this theme since around Mario Day. Since then we've had the Switch 2 reveals and a better look at Mario Kart World. While the sets so far are largely based on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it's been nice to see that at least a few of the karts that have been made in Lego so far (the B-Dasher and the Biddybuggy) will be appearing in the new game as well, even if others like the Standard Kart and Standard Bike have been redesigned as they tend to be for new games. I'm curious if there will be sets based on the new game—not likely for this year (since if there are more Mario Kart sets in the summer they'd likely still be based on earlier games), but possibly in the future. In the meantime, I recently was pleased to learn that some of the light pink wedge slopes I needed for my digital MOC of the Cat Cruiser from Mario Kart 8 will finally be made real in some upcoming Fortnite and Disney sets! So maybe I'll be able to build that in real life someday (even though my track record for successfully turning my digital MOCs into a physical reality isn't that great). -
Yeah, sketches like that avoid the risk of watermarks or metadata that could track a leak to its source. I think the station looks good—it has some nice features like an elevator, a very fresh layout that's unlike any previous stations, and a design that seems to blend traditional features like a clocktower with more modern-looking features like a glass canopy over the café. Other than that there's not too much to discuss with so little info.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2025 Rumours and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Agent Kallus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yes, there are definitely figs of the main characters in regular/casual outfits. Arguably many of their "main outfits" are streetwear-inspired outfits (most of MK's main outfits fall into this category), and there have been several other casual/non-armored outfits as well. Here's some (non-comprehensive) examples: MK: [1], [2], [3] Mei: [1], [2], [3] Mr. Tang: [1], [2], [3] Pigsy: [1], [2], [3] Sandy: [1], [2] Even some of the villain characters have gotten into the mix, with the Megapolis City set featuring characters like Red Son, Macaque, Spider Queen, and Lady Bone Demon in civilian outfits.
