I guess because the eyelash on the Marvel one WASN'T standard, most horse decorations lack that and have the plain circular eye.

Marvel horse is three years old and likely out of production, so there's really no cost difference between producing new horses with the same print versus a different one.

Just browsed through myself. Not a lot jumped out at me, but there were a few highlights: The Sunset Hotel from previous series has been rebranded as the Paradisa Hotel, with a color scheme befitting the classic theme. I've seen a couple Paradisa-related projects but this is my favorite—it absolutely nails the sun-bleached, glitzy aesthetic, but with modern design sensibilities. It's often harder for smaller projects to get support (contributing to the high price tag of your typical BDP set), but I love the look of Le Petit Bouquet. A gorgeous looking little build with unique Parisian set dressing (including an iconic advertising post and metro entrance). Apart from that I didn't see a lot that interested me too much. Very little has really captured my heart in BDP since the whimsical Mushroom House and Mushroom Village—so many projects either seem designed to augment an existing theme (often in a very expensive package) or are more creative but lack the polish that would get me to stomach the high price tag.

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Lyichir replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yeah, Dustmark Keep looks very nice! While I'm not really a major castle collector/army builder, my favorite interpretations of some of these newer factions are ones that really take pains to make them distinct from each other and from past factions in more ways than just color scheme and emblems—and interpreting the snake faction as inhabiting a desert biome with sand-worn battlements definitely does a great job with that! -

The Technic axle connectors on the sides do suggest that maybe this is designed with the ability to be expanded in the future in mind. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Lyichir replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hm... no telling if it ends up being licensed. My top wish for a licensed series based on a current theme would be Animal Crossing maybe (since this has been a light year for it, it'd be nice to see it come back in a big way), but I dunno how likely that is. Possibly more likely would be a Super Mario series since they're rolling out minifigure-based sets next year and a CMF series would be a good opportunity to "jumpstart" that new direction with a wide variety of characters (many of whom might need dedicated molds). There may very likely be another Spider-Verse series next year, but probably not in January, since the next movie in the series is supposed to drop that summer. But again, with licensed series, all bets are off, since often licensed minifigure series revolve around totally new themes. Next year's first unlicensed series, on the other hand, will probably be a big deal since series 30 (!) will be a big milestone for the minifigures theme. 2027 will also be Lego's 95th anniversary, which combined could be a good occasion for some classic theme references (remember how big they went for the 90th anniversary four years ago). Chances are not every fig in the series will be a classic reference or anything, though, and they could go for some other different sort of commemorative theming even if it IS anniversary-themed (like the costume party series). In terms of individual unlicensed themes with anniversaries next year (a la Bionicle or Ninjago in this latest series), I don't think there's a lot of ongoing themes with major anniversaries next year (except Friends and the modular buildings series, and while I do expect anniversary commemorations for those I don't really expect it in a CMF series). A really FUNNY option would be some sort of Galidor anniversary fig (turning 25 next year), but again, probably not likely. -

You know, that's something I never thought of building but now that you mention it it could make an interesting build! As a Ninjago fan I also wouldn't be surprised to see that sprocket gear in some sort of spinner mechanism before long (since getting something spinning fast and continuing to spin when it's released can be key for those sorts of play features)- 5,656 replies

They might look more proportionate outside the cars that way, but adding more height or leg length might make figs even harder to fit into the interiors (where space is often at a premium).

Now that these are all officially revealed I've been dabbling in building them in Stud.io and poring over the details more closely. The Grand Hotel is absolutely gorgeous. I love the storytelling it has with a wedding between Petch and Astrid—adjoining rooms with a shared bathroom for them to prepare for their big day, a ballroom on the top level with a dance floor, grand piano, and wedding cake, and a cute trellis in the garden for the event itself. A fun detail I noticed is that while Astrid is watching bridal videos in her room, the cat-loving Petch (previously seen in the Heartlake City Apartments and Shops) is watching cat videos! I also love that the wedding cake itself uses the new 1x1 quarter circle brick for the top of the cake so you can break off "slices" and serve them on individual plates. The linked elevator mechanism (with one rising as the other descends) is both simple and very dynamic-looking in action. The Creative Flower Shop is another favorite. With the wide variety of floral elements introduced through sets like the botanical collection and Ideas botanical garden, it's a great concept to create a florist shop where you can mix and match flowers and vases to form unique bouquets. The opalescent purple boulder pieces used for one of the vases is also the perfect color to go with the City and Friends space sets from a few years ago! The Pizza Truck reminds me fondly of one of my childhood sets, 1994's Pizza To Go, but in a modern twist this combines the brick oven and delivery van into a food truck. I love the colors and unique prints like Olly's employee uniform and the recyclable pizza box. The three amusement park sets (Candy & Cupcake Ferris Wheel, Flower & Fairy Teacup Ride, and Mermaid Roller Coaster) are all stylish and look like they'd go great together! As mentioned above I love the plushie "mascots" and unique aesthetics of each set. The Mermaid Roller Coaster looks great and makes me long for the hypothetical mermaid-focused Elves wave we never ended up getting. The Cozy Autumn Forest Cabin looks lovely. I love the rustic vibes and the hot spring with billowing steam over it. The Koala Habitat isn't necessarily my cup of tea (while I love animals, these sorts of animal rescue/care sets can sometimes sort of blend together). But the koalas are cute and the eucalyptus tree builds are nice too.

Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
See, I assumed 80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival was loosely based on that sort of event! Chinese Traditional Festivals (CTF) is the internal name for these sets, which is probably as close as we'll get. A part of me thinks that this theme expanding/branching out now is partly due to the void left by the Monkie Kid theme now that that's over. -
Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
Lyichir replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Mostly it's been Lunar New Year sets coming out at the start of the year (probably because that's the biggest "gift-giving" holiday of the year, much like the Christmas season is in other countries). The only exception up until now was 80103 Dragon Boat Race, which came out in May of 2019 to celebrate a festival that typically takes place in late May or early June. -
This is an interesting observation but I think it has more to do with most languages using the Latin alphabet reading left to right. Think about it—the Lego logo and theme logo, set information, etc. is on the far left, and from there people are generally inclined to scan the boxart to the right. So in the case of vehicles, it makes sense to orient things so that people scan from the front of the vehicle (on the left), which is often one of the more interesting and distinctive angles, to the back of the vehicle (on the right).

Doesn't look like it to me, the existing postcard/junk mail tiles and cookie tile are the only non-minifig, non-animal prints I see.
