  1. Try to get 8258, it's very nice and better than 42009 in my opinion.
  2. Does your beacon flash? I remember them years ago in police sets :) can they be got in black?
  3. It's funny I know lots of people buying 42004 for the bucket for jurgens ultimate 8043 mod, I priced the bucket on brick link and it was nearly €15 including shipping because of its size (package) This set has nice parts and a few 5x1 thin lift arms. For €24. Jurgen u should be proud, this ultimate 8043 is a big hit this year :) The more I think about it 42008 tops it for me :)
  4. Maybe read the last few pages and yes they come down automatically too. Dos anyone else think the wheels look a tad small under 42008?
  5. 42004 nice parts for size.( needed the bucket :) ) 42006 love it and bought it,the claw is really well done.( best ever 1h set) 42008 also love it and the mix of la,s and pneumatics are nice. 42009 I'm not sure really,I look forward so much every year to the main model, but for the first time in a few years I'm not wowed (yet) 42000 not into technic cars. As already said the cranes been done and 8421 is a beautiful set already! Do we really need an other. 8258,8043,8110 all great years for flagships in recent years.
  6. I know ur head is normal :) , I ment ur one of the biggest technic fans / collectors on here if not the biggest :) it's just nice too hear ur taughts with so many years building technic etc , Thanks for ur reply.
  7. I think it's when the dipper is fully in it jumps, but if u move it out even slightly out it works fine, there's no solution Jurgen for that big angle is there? I have to say I'm very impressed tho, it's a huge improvement on the original 8043 :) I don't know how u think of ur ideas! Jurgen have u still got ur ultimate 8043 built?
  8. Iv asked already maybe no one knows but will the boom on this be any longer than 8421 fully extended?
  9. Maybe we should start a poll on who's happy or not with this years sets :) I can't understand why they didn't motorise the turret!
  10. Very disappointing, it was the only let down on 8421 too, I wonder guys is there anything hiding under that grey panel between the turret and the cab?
  11. U should build it its great :) I might try move to la or beam a stud too see will it sort the dipper angle
  12. Oh please! , the unimog was one of the best sets in years, everyone agrees to that! Everything about it is great. I forgot to ask is the turret structure motorised or manual on 42009 guys? So no large pneumatic cylinder :(?
  13. An rc backhoe :) @ Allan will u not buy 42008 the fact it has pneumatics?..
  14. For the claw? I didn't try it yet but the boom on ultimate 8043 is not the same as standard boom, ill try modify the joints for the dipper but it works great in general. I also notice motor struggles slightly while slewing? Maybe a bit of oil on the worm gear might help :) How do u mean flipping uni joint at 45 degrees?? Great model tho , works just like the real thing, have u built it alasdair ?
  15. Just finished this and it's a wonderful model, works great apart from what Jantjeuh just said about the dipper, anyone have a fix? By the way 8878 was a great buy too.
  16. Unimog is a top model and very big go for it,one of the best flagships in years along with 8043 :)I'm not bothered about the monster truck it's small and baby for kids :)
  17. Ok guys 1h has Been done, we have a 2h thread ever year pinned so maybe pin the 2h! It's up to a mod but u can see everyone's posting in 2h2013 thread :)
  18. Mmm I kind of have to agree with u, yes ill probably buy them but i wasn't wowed by the crane, I have a new 8421,do I really want the new one or will I just get it for my traditional flagship buy every year! Probably the latter! Some say this might be the best flagship ever,I really doubt that, I wasn't very impressed with last years crawler but I'm disappointed to say i was more excited than i am now after seeing that video. It will be hard to better 8110 in my opinion for recent flagships, I'm probably more excited about 42008 this year even tho mixing la,s with pneumatics it odd. Allan tell the truth when u seen first image of 42008 u where so happy when u seen that pneumatic sign on the box! Then when u seen the new pictures with that lovely big grey LA ur heart sunk just like mine :) Anyway rant over ill buy 42008 in August and 42009 for Christmas I'd say to build Christmas evening :) Just a note on the crane it has only 1 la for the boom, was sure it would have 2, also on the tow truck it's a nice idea when u lower the boom the rear stabilisers lift up themselves. For some reason I think I'm more excited about building jurgens PF backhoe in a few weeks :)
  19. It's going to be a great year, hey wheres all the big technic heads for these important pictures, blackbird , conchas etc :) Would like too hear there taughts! Mmm but they never comment on upcoming sets! Maybe there lego undercover men :) Anyone seen any more photos of 42008?
  20. I'm not sure i understand u, the small cylinder is at the end but what does the big one do? Am i rite saying this has a compressor too? About 42009 , now that we know the length of the arm is it much longer than 8421 fully extended?
  21. Ok I admit I got a big shock seeing that la in the service truck, but it is pretty cool how they mix pneumatics with la,s this time so I can live with it, I would have like pneumatic s to lift the main arm but ill get over it, The service truck looks great, am I rite saying we have one small and one large cylinder? What's does the large one do? It looks like a lot of functions in a medium size set :)
  22. Yes it has 2 large la,s :) 1 la would not lift that mother of a boom :) edit think it looks like 1 now) I'm looking forward too seeing proper pictures of 42008 next :) Ur rite i do want it ted :)
