  1. Yeah exactly lol. No need for precise mechanical speed control when encoders do it for you.
  2. @Unbrickme I guess you're more of an optimist than I. Reading rumours that the Zetros isn't actually going to have any pneumatics brings the cynic out in me regarding this bulldozer.
  3. Maybe he doesn’t like it enough to buy it, or he’s not in a position to buy one
  4. Two for the drivetrain, two for the front and two for the back. You sound as though you’re surprised that there are competing interests in this forum. It’s a fairly useless statement imo
  5. Looking really nice - any chance at some more closeups of the front fork?
  6. Wow, I'm really impressed with these two sets, the B-models are really creative!
  7. ah, so when they say 'review' (one of the key pillars of which is a commentary on the price), they're actually just lying through their dog teeth. i see, it all makes sense now ONLY NICE COMMENTS ALLOWED we should buy one just to spite them
  8. Well that's just rank BS on TLG's behalf. I think I'm done supporting them as a company. Only secondhand sets from now on for me.
  9. I wonder how much of an effect the ambient temperature has on the stiffness and strength of the pieces. I very much doubt they're both from the same mould, as wherever CaDA sources its parts from (Go Bricks or inhouse) seems to struggle with the tolerances on that type of connector. I can also confirm that the dark red connector colour issue isn't exclusive to Lego. I have CaDA's Centenario and the red connectors it has are also darker than other red pieces that come with the set. I highly suspect it's due to how thin the walls are.
  10. If you don't need steering then you can just rotate the hub by 90 degrees to have the axle holes face sideways
  11. @Jim a new visitor needs some helmp lol
  12. This is not the right forum to ask, sorry. Try the Creator forum
  13. I know right. Just as big as the smart hub, no smart electronics but more than half the cost. Wow great moves TLG. Keep it up, proud of you
  14. Wouldn’t the original tyres work well on snow because of the tread?
  15. Jesus Christ $50AUD... what a joke
  16. While you can get great investment returns if you pick the right set (from what I can see large Technic sets will generally appreciate, and licensed ones probably even more so), it’s just straight up not worth it for the amount you need to buy. What’s a profit of 2x for one or two sets over the course of 20 years? Seems not worth the effort imo I’d throw my money into stonks, crypto or metals.
  17. Well that's bloody scary lol, great work
  18. Yeah I dunno, it seems a really weird choice
  19. The XL and L have basically the same power requirement so I’m not surprised. It’s the same motor, but one has a larger reduction gearbox
  20. Dunno if the steering arms, but the wheels definitely rub against something at full lock in mine, and I'm 100% sure I built it correctly
  21. I guess I was expecting something with tyres halfway between the scale of 42099 and 42043. Would’ve made for something way cooler
  22. That’s actually a really good point that I hadn’t considered. Two XLs would give you much better performance than just one. By that alone I think it’s likely that the tracks will just be direct drive (after a reduction gearbox)
  23. Well I sure as hell hope that info for the Zetros is incorrect, because $570AUD for 42070 (even presumably with suspension) is just a flat out scam unless there’s a pneumatic crane on the back.
  24. Well hang on, we still know next to nothing beyond surface level about what’s on offer here
  25. A subtractor drivetrain. It’s unnecessary, but it’s cool and I’d be impressed if they did it
