  1. To be fair it’s basically just a tarted up 42077 with lipstick, same goes for 42096
  2. Cheers, just trying to make sure there’s no circular source going on
  3. Says I gotta log in. What’s their source?
  4. I could see it needing six motors, so two hubs will surely be needed. Going off the Liebherr’s price of $750AUD, $700AUD (400€ + 10% GST) seems expected for a 4k set with one less motor. I really don’t think they’d go to all the effort of adding a subtractor or track tensioners, considering the Liebherr didn’t have either.
  5. I don't count that. That was an unsuccessful venture by them to get into crowdfunding, so it basically didn't have any mainstream appeal. The closest thing we'd have for comparison would be the Hedwig kinetic sculpture, but I don't know anything about how well that's been selling. I still think that a series of kinetic animal sculptures with realistic movement would totally be possible.
  6. I think animals would work better as kinetic sculptures. An eagle with realistic wing flapping, a honey bird, a swimming fish, whale, turtle, whatever, maybe even a flying dragon. So many animals that could work amazingly as Technic sets
  7. That was a tow truck, not a logging truck
  8. I figure that this model has more consistent colouring, but that would likely be because CaDA pieces all use more or less the same plastic for small pieces, whereas Lego pieces are more varied in which plastic they use, to account for different manufacturing considerations of each piece.
  9. Now THIS would be worthy of a $90AUD RRP, good job
  10. Jesus guys of course it’s AUD if I said Australian
  11. Sets are up on S@H now for Australia. $200 for the offroad buggy, hehe I don't think so
  12. I tried it once on a large shell-style print and it was awful; I assume there's some manner of tuning that needs to be done, because I sure as hell just enabled it and let it go
  13. Retraction doesn't solve the issue entirely. I'm pretty sure coasting was actually the solution developed to tackle this, although it's a difficult thing to do. An alternate method is available through some slicers, for example Cura, which allow you to choose to begin layers at a sharpest point, so for pinholes you can artificially introduce a sharp corner/notch somewhere in the geometry to force the walls to begin there.
  14. Because these sets really aren't built for them. Soft tyres make for better grip
  15. I absolutely recommend FDM 3D printing Lego (assuming you already have a 3D printer; don’t buy one with the sole purpose of printing Lego). If there’s an expensive piece you’re looking for, such as a rotary catch, it’s often much more economical to just design and print one. I’m currently printing custom rims for Technic cars and it’s totally fine. It can be hard finding the right orientation in which to print stuff though
  16. These new tyres are perfect for a forest harvester MOC. I might try get just them
  17. I don't like the unrealistic shifter. Bike shifters move back into place after pressed.
  18. I was pissed at Sariel's low score for 42101, thought it was absolute BS
  19. I'm kinda over the attitude that gears are necessary for a set to be worth it. 42101 was an amazing little set. I wanna see more clever linkages, shorter ball socket arms and special parts in small sets
  20. Sorry to necro a month-long abandoned thread, but I just built this set the other day, and am wondering whether anyone thinks a compact sequential stepper/shifter mechanism could fit. I don’t like the basic shifter it has and really wanna replace it, but have no idea whether there’s space to fit a seq. shifter
  21. Really? I reckon they look mad. Heaps of visible moving pieces on a small Technic set
