  1. How do you know that 42128 will have pneumatics?
  2. The blade and ripper each have two functions associated - lift and tilt. That makes for six functions with two hubs.
  3. Given it's probably a $250AUD set, I reckon there's a good to fair chance that it'll both be motorised and come with an extra vehicle to tow. This is all assuming that it's gonna be in the Anthem and cement mixer scale.
  4. It’s still well within the realm of possibility that this set will have two hubs. I’d say it’s probable that it does.
  5. If that 300€ is right then Aussies are looking at about $520 rather than $570. Pneumatics are still looking possible, although now less likely.
  6. Just spitballing what could be here, because why the hell not (note all dollar prices in AUD): 330€ ~ $520AUD, add 10% GST to make ~$570. Yeesh 2.1k pieces at an expected ~14c/p would make for roughly $300, with $270 left for electronics and other stuff. Say $200 for four motors and a hub because it’s in a set so it’s a bit cheaper than buying standalone. That leaves $70. I could still see this set having pneumatics, even with four motors.
  7. Could the price and piece count difference between this and the Liebherr still pay for pneumatics?
  8. bro what kinda pneumatics have you been playing with lol. i can’t relate
  9. aw why not? TLG seems to have a hate boner for pneumatics
  10. @astyanax Soz I think I got it mistaken. The green diffuser on the real thing is only slightly swept inwards, so it’d probs be too hard to do with Lego. Rather, the brickbuilt lime sides of the diffuser, and the panelling behind the rear wheel I think could be adjusted.
  11. @astyanax Oh man from the side the rear is so close to looking like the real thing. It’s just that lime diffuser now that needs to be swept, along with the system pieces next to it.
  12. Edited my comment just as you replied ;)
  13. If it really is fully RC pneumatics, how much would the eight pneumatic cylinders, four valves, one (or even two!) pumps and PU motor cost? I feel like that’s more than just the 50€ price increase. Perhaps it’ll only have 3k pieces? The D11T’s chassis looks like it’d cover roughly the same footprint as 42100, just by looking at the relative size of the driving sprockets in each. Knock 1k pieces off for the shovel arm, and suddenly we’re possibly at a 3k piece set. Curious...
  14. Does it really though? By my reckoning it’s basically the same amount, plus or minus whatever amount depending on a set, which is pretty much random. You have the extra gears to carry the reverse gear, but you lose gears from the rest of the build because there’s fewer drivetrains leaving the gearbox.
  15. The price point doesn't seem unusual for flying vehicles. I think it's likelier to be a car, but who knows really
  16. @kbalage Is there a way to add trim modules to PU? I feel like it's customary for RC controllers to have trim, and it's a big bummer that TLG didn't add one
  17. While you do need to jump between the battery box and the dispatcher (you don't literally need two hands, I can use 42043 with one and it's perfectly fine for me), I totally disagree that it's "much" worse to use, because I'm in camp "cram in as many functions as physically possible" so I'm happy with the compromise - I may not be able to flick a red selector, but I have twice the number of functions available to play with. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. This is really just an issue of old Lego sets not including a linkage for the switch to make it easier to control. It's quite easy to work around.
  18. I wonder which galaxy brain decided that the core play functions had to be compromised to shoehorn some megablock fart buttons. I get that there are humans putting in effort behind the scenes but come on, since 42114 they've continued to drop the ball so hard with C+ profiles that it's unbelievable. In ways that are so trivially simple to fix too, I might add. Given that it's almost guaranteed that TLG ran focus test groups with children, I cannot accept that kids preferred what was provided (unless I'm having a Skinner episode). There just have to be structural communication issues going on across the relevant departments if the profiles make me bang my head on the wall. How hard can it be to make something that makes sense? This buggy's control profile should have been a regular two-channel controller layout, with the sound buttons thrown around the sides or the middle.
  19. Ehhhh I dunno if I'd call it a similar price, at least from a functional offering. 30EUR is enough to be the difference between a gearbox and no gearbox.
  20. A more accurate term would be that it stops the bike from falling over. It won't go straight (because free caster steering alone (with no counterweights) only provides passive stability), but it'll rest in a turning/spiral state and won't go unstable. To go straight you need a feedback controller
