  1. @nguyengiangoc Man what a poorly designed power train the designer made :| I have two ideas... one involves adding a third 24z 8z pair, and the other involves rubber bands
  2. Can you not just replace the 24z clutch gears with normal 24z gears? Alternatively, can you not do: 24z 8z 24z 8z 20z 12z ...?
  3. Looks similar to a Promethean Watcher from Halo, except without the engines! Good work :D
  4. Oh man WHAT. I thought that stencil was just some sort of inside joke
  5. How are you going to connect the long webbing at the front?
  6. Man this is some amazing work! Some ideas for pairs you could do (bold for personal favourite combos): MARVEL: - The Vision and Scarlet Witch - Thor and Hawkeye (only because for some reason TLG went with Black Widow and Hulk when it should have been Thor and Hulk or Black Widow and Hawkeye - Deadpool and Wolverine - Gamorah and Nebula - Groot and Rocket Racoon - Thanos and Adam Warlock - Falcon and Ant Man - Charles Xavier and Magneto STAR WARS: - Lando and Leia - Kanan Jarrus and the Grand Inquisitor - Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano - Anakin and Obi Wan (Clone Wars versions) - Tarkin and Krennic - Thrawn and Agent Kallus - Maul and Ezra Bridger - C-3PO and somehow R2-D2 - Yoda and red-robes Palpatine (someone already did these but I'd like to see your spin on them) - Kit Fisto and Mace Windu - Savage Opress and Darth Maul LORD OF THE RINGS: - Legolas and Gimli - Galadriel and Elrond - Smeagol and Bilbo THE SIMPSONS: - Bart and Lisa Simpson - Skinner and Ms Krabapple - Apu and Snake Jailbird - Sideshow Bob and Krusty OTHER (not necessarily pairs): - Robocop - T800 (good luck) - BBC Sherlock Holmes and John Watson - G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron - G1 Starscream and Bumblebee - Spock and Kirk - Baracus and Hannibal (A-Team) - Royal Guard and the Queen of England - Austin Powers and Foxxy Cleopatra That's all I could think of so far
  7. You and me brother EDIT: Wait you're not talking about the Venator are you?
  8. I'm still confused about how the hybrid gearbox works. Is each function a product of combined switch settings or does each switch control three functions?
  9. After watching a video of dokludi's replica of 42070, I have to say it's growing on me a bit (a reasonable view, seeing as dokludi's replicas are almost identical to the final product). My only original gripe was the lack of live axle suspension, but after seeing the chassis I see there just wouldn't be enough space to include that, so I think what we get is a fairish compromise. The pricing is still way off for me, much like a large number of the 2017 sets.
  10. All I want is a UCS Venator SD :(
  11. 42068 is the airport fire truck. Unless you meant in that video?
  12. $290USD = $378AUD Yeaaahhhh look Lego, for an unlicensed set with only 1862 pieces, two motors and one IR receiver, 42070 ain't happening for me... compared to 42030 which had twice as many power functions, was licensed and $360AUD. Mass disappointment from my side :(
  13. That is a massively shady strategy. To bring it back, I'm pleasantly surprised to see what appears to be solid axle suspension on 42069, that coupled with a modern rally car colour scheme this set will be a must buy. 42068 looks very interesting too, so it's a probable buy for me. I love the dark grey panels. 42070 is giving me grief. It's suffering from the same problem 42065 is, which is a lack of sprung suspension where it clearly should be present at both their price points. TLG and its designers seems to be very scared of building vehicles with live axle suspension. With all the crawler MOCs we see on YouTube there should have definitely been an official set by now. Additionally, I've noticed that many sets this year are immensely overpriced, at least on the Australian Lego site. The stunt truck and bike are ~$33 which at their piece count puts them at 23c/piece. 42061 is in the same position. A bit annoyed about that.
  14. I'd like to see a source that it was confirmed for 2017, not just confirmed in general
  15. I think you guys are forgetting about language barriers. Often when a non-native English speaker someone critiques someone else's work it comes off as harsh because the speaker's English skills haven't yet developed to the point of being able to fully use the language. It's very rare that a user is gonna go "NAH IT SUCKS" with the intention of being rude/harsh, and I really don't think @M_longer is the kind of person to do that.
  16. Sorry for the misunderstanding guys, but when I said wings are the "most important" part of a plane what I really meant to say is they are the DEFINING CHARACTERISTIC: the layman calls something a plane because it has wings. If a piece of machinery (glider/powered, whatever. That's irrelevant to the definition) doesn't have wings that make it fly (or wasn't designed with wings in mind) then no one calls it a plane.
  17. Honestly I don't see the problem with calling it flying Lego. It's a step in the right direction - the wings (most important part of an aircraft) are made of Lego. If someone builds a car with a Lego chassis but gives it a non-Lego motor then we still call it a Lego car. I don't see why the same isn't the case for aircraft. If the defining part of any vehicle is made of Lego and the majority of parts are Lego then I think we should be happy to say it's a Lego creation. That "Lego" RC helicopter is not what I'd call a Lego creation, because the most defining part of a helicopter is the rotor system, which in that helicopter's case they weren't made of Lego. Thumbs up to that Lego RC plane
  18. It's weird though, I saw people treating that essentially as confirmation we were getting new parts for either 42056 or 42065. At the risk of being scolded by yours truly Jimmy for going off topic , I hate that there's not even basic bogie suspension on 42065. That and I have a strong suspicion it won't drive well on hard timber floors - some guy made a replica of the set not too long ago and it bounced around constantly because it wasn't geared down in any way, much like what we see in the images above. This goes without even mentioning the racket it's gonna make with those hard plastic tracks. I can't help but feel that a better choice would be the smaller link treads: http://brickset.com/parts/design-3873
  19. Just realising the fact that there are no new PF components. Why did people hype themselves up so much about "PF 2.0"??? As far as I know there was no reason to believe in its existence
  20. If this doesn't win I'm gonna be thoroughly ticked off
  21. Saber I'm not sure that's a thing Google doesn't seem to return anything about nudging machine jokes
  22. Is this promise of doubling/tripling/quadrupling a calculated promise or a willy-nilly promise?
  23. Unfortunately that's most likely the case. The current sales probably don't justify making it more accurate. How about just a thicker rear tyre? Both of 8420's wheels were the same, only they had different width tyres
