  1. Id suggest buying the black/orange, improving the design to your own taste, and then bricklinking the parts for the blue/white versions
  2. Love the Tie, got a question though, do you happen to have a part-count for the cockpit part? Im kinda planning on moccing a Tie advanced prototype microfighter in anticipation of the new sets, and while i have the wings though out in my head, im not sure how big i could make the cockpit while staying within my €10 bricklink budget
  3. From the sets you mention i guess going for a discontinued set from bricklink is an option, and you prefer rebel alliance fighters right? Out of the ones you mention id go for 9495, simply because i prefer the Y-wing over the X-wing, and it is a good looking Y-wing at that Out of the currently new kit, id go for the Tie advanced prototype, but the B-wing might be worth looking at, its getting discontinued soon (already gone in europe)
  4. Cant vouch for hungary, but here in the netherlands, it sure was.
  5. Indeed they are! There are quite a few differences in terms of looks, mostly the engines and back of the cockpit, which brings me to a new theory, the A-wing on the list isnt UCS or TFA, but Rebels, it would make sense for the A-wing to show up in season 2 some more.
  6. Yup https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_canon Basically, the movies, Clone wars and Rebels, and anything official after april 2014
  7. Haha, i kinda knew that as well (saw it in Rebels, and indeed, that is canon), guess they'll have to ret-con the fact that A-wings werent in ANH or Empire then :P It's interesting that according to "Legends" the A-wing was only in the prototype phase in 0 ABY, so couldnt have been in Rebels, while new Canon doesnt give any history beyond it appearing in Rebels, New Canon also lists Kuat as the manufacturer while Legends lists it as an Incom/Rebel underground engineering craft.
  8. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114469&hl=nooteboom That trailer does 7 indepent angle steering with servos, i imagine adding a servo for the 8th axle plus the needed programming in the control unit would allow for both turn and crab (although the truck obviously wouldnt)
  9. Considering 42022 got a V6, i dont see a V4 happening either, a V8 would be most accurate, but depending on the set size they might not be able to fit a V8, 42022 kinda needs a V8 as well, but even with a V6 it looks waaaaay too long
  10. Doing it entirely true, might require mindstorms/S-brick programmable controllers and servos or mindstorms motors, i think a purely mechanical linkage facilitating both multi-axle multi-angle steering and crabbing would be extremely complex. The only real way i can think of doing it mechanically would be with two sets of cogs on the steering racks and being able to enable/disable them with clutch gears, but working out the proper gear ratios for several axles to steer correctly might just be impossible with the limited set of cogs we have. And this mechanism probably is so complex and has so many gears, all with a tiny bit of play, that depending on how many axles you want, it might not work at all. You can probably do 2 steering front axles and 3 "locked" rear axles, where a clutch would make the rear axles steer as well, allowing a vehicle to both turn and crab, but the problem of different steering angles on steered axles remains, and is fundamentally incompatible with crabbing
  11. One can only hope, it is a lovely fighter, a good UCS version of it would be awesome (although my wallet disagrees) Small niggle of doubt for me though, the A-wing got introduced in RotJ, so it is a relatively modern craft (compared to the Y-wing for instance) at the end of the OT, would it be possible the A-wing also features in TFA? Off course i'd expect a TFA label behind the set then, but given that it would be the exact same craft, i can see some confusion leading to it being mistaken for the OT A-wing. Either way, im curious about the Tie proto and AT-DP microfighters, i hope they look good :)
  12. Id probably try to adapt the design to work with unmodified lego pieces first, but if you really do need this, id go for drilling out the 3M piece, should end up looking better then a cut-modified 6M
  13. Oh, i just thought of something, i wasnt very hyped about the chopper, but it would probably be a very good base for a Ka-52 moc, which would be AWESOME
  14. Personally im not too worried about that, any big set i buy is gonna get modified anyway, and 42039 has much bigger issues then the headlights :P (love the set though, probably my favorite project this year)
  15. Awesome! Ill probably pick up the dragster then, do we know how big the set is approximately yet? As for the speedboat, the size/description reminds me of 42002 hovercraft, not to most exciting set probably, but might be a good parts pack :)
  16. Looks good! The colors look a bit like a hodge podge right now, but that might be because of the smallish pics. Replacing the black side with a white one should give it a nice yamaha motoGP vibe.
  17. So we are talking this kind of dragster? Anyway, sounds promising, as do the go-kart and getaway vehicle, the small Jet depends on the parts for me.
  18. Sounds feasible indeed, i was kind of going off the idea that the arm the heli is on would go up/down as well, and while it is off course possible to drive that from a motor/gearbox combo inside the chopper, it feels a bit unnatural, hence why i figured two motors. Having the rotor assembly driven by the same motor as the rest of the functions might make for some odd behaviour though, rotors going whilst altering your pitch/yaw/roll, and then grinding to a halt as soon as you stop rotating the craft, it might also require a large amount of torque Also, single motor with a big gearbox in the heli itself kind of invalidates the control panel concept, the panel would just be a battery box with the on/off switch, with all the actual control being done on the chopper itself, unless they go for a whole bunch of mechanical linkages through the arm (3-4 rotating axles?), doable on a static arm, but on moving one that would be hard to pull off. yay speculation and such :)
  19. This makes me wonder, if you want to get anywhere near CCII functionality with PF, that'll mean quite a few motors (one for rotors, one for up/down at least, presuming purely mechanical linkages for "steering") Id expect a relatively small chopper then, considering the stand/mechanism and PF stuff will eat up budget And if i may ask a question, any info regaring the kart? Im having trouble picturing a Kart big enough to be a €28 set with only a single cylinder engine, this is probably my most anticipated set for H1 looking at the rumours so far.
  20. Anecdotal off course, but my 8880 wheels havent discoloured that bad (compared to the pics here), kept in a box in the attic mostly. Most white parts of that age in my collection have yellowed a bit though And i do hope current white parts dont discolour with age, id hate for my 42039 and 42000 (and other mocs/mods with white parts) to degrade :( Maybe i should invest in loads of panels/liftarms in other colours to re-color my white models when the time comes..
  21. There was a C-model posted here of a very nice GT car: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=110661 Id build that first myself, before moccing something of my own
  22. Right you are, the theme fell squarely into my dark ages, so im not too familiar with it, but upon seeing the piece, cant imagine i confused the two :D Still, that rock raiders canopy in grey wouldve been a decent falcon cockpit imho
  23. The longer length tubes are much cheaper, the 7L white ones (for instance) go for $0.50 and up, and youd need a lot less of them, id work out what kind of lengths you need for the build and try piecing those together using different lengths rather then the giant pile of 2L parts in the official kit, might even end up looking cleaner. As for the wheels, not a clue, if they cant be bought on BL or Brickowl, id seriously consider just getting the metallic silver version and spray painting them white, not exactly purist, but should end up looking the part, and if you do the paintjob well (few layers + some varnish), itll last forever, especially considering its a display model and wont get bumped around.
  24. You could consider wiring up an extra 1.2v rechargable in series with the 6 already in a battery pack, not pretty, but some handiwork with simple wires, electrictape and perhaps a piece of alu foil will bumped the voltage coming out of the batterypack to 8.4v compared to the 7.2 6 of those rechargeables produce. Bumping it to 9.6 by adding not one, but two extra in the circuit would probably be safe as well Not the cleanest mod mind you
  25. Haha, seems like you are waaaaaay ahead of me in the bike department (so far all i have is one 42007 and one 42036) As for the gold rims, i just get mine from bricklink, but im not familiar with brickowl, so i cant comment on that As for the Decool model, 45 quid seems steep, considering the original can be had for €60 on bricklink (although no current sellers in the UK), personally i wouldnt pay that much, but if the quality is good, then by all means! If you get some custom wheels made, do post, id love to see them
