The front wheels arent too bad, but holy crap, $40 for rear wheels and tires... It does put the model in perspective though, i expected the fronts to be small wheels, but they are in fact the wheels on 42000, probably the biggest in my collection

Trying to see if i would be interested in this, would a helicopter expressly designed for lugging heavy loads be allowed? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erickson_Air_Crane https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_S-64_Skycrane Im guessing a Chinook would be out of bounds as it also serves as a troop transporter And as a really out-there entry, the NASA skycrane used to land curiosity on Mars: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Science_Laboratory#Sky_crane

Hmm, indeed it does (havent examined the teaser frame by frame, so might have missed the high contrast against the lit up SD), looks like the fold-out flaps on the lego model are wrong though.

Seeing Jang's mod i still cant get over the feeling that this is a different ship then the one in the trailer, there is just so much wing left below the hinge point (even without the extra fold out wings), while the trailer ship doesnt have any.

My mistake, im not into construction type stuff, so i dont know all the details on those models Still, a slow crawling crane and a dragster are two very different things, given how much effort it takes to get a big RC model moving at any speed, i doubt its something lego will do stock both 42027 and 42010 are very similar, "off-road racer" and "desert racer", released one year apart. And the combined model for 42011 and 42010 was a dragster as well. There is only so much you can do with the pullback racer formula to begin with, maybe a muscle car or european looking sports car, anything else would be a repeat of dune buggy/open wheel racer/quad bike/dragster which we've all seen.

2016 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vectormatic replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
The lego build is going to be higher, as it needs to seat a minifig, so my guess would be higher, and a custom windshield piece, probably shared with the 919 -
Thanks for the review! It is an interesting set allright, but that is a LOT of stickers, im really disappointed with the one for the control panel (as in, it not being a printed piece), ill probably pass on it purely based on the price As for what you say about the price in japan, is all lego similarly expensive right now over there? Ive got a feeling that here in europe all the SW stuff is more extra-expensive then the other stuff.

Its been happening with SW sets a lot lately, the Tie proto for €55.. the Sith infiltrator for €110 the odd thing is that the EU-US price difference is larger for SW sets then for non-licensed lego, cant quite make sense of it myself, but its driven me away from buying new SW stuff :(

Microfighters tend to not have unique figures in them, so people can buy multiple and build an army (the only obvious exception being Han with the Falcon, but people wouldnt buy more then 1 falcon anyway). The Ghost from rebels is rumored to be in the next wave though, so it is possible, just not extremely likely imho

I think you might be overestimating how much they know or care. You might be an AFOL 100% up to speed on launch dates etc.. but to them you might just look like a parent/uncle/whatever who picked a random box of bricks off the shelf for little jimmy, and the employees themselves might not know exactly what is going on. Generally speaking, by the time im inside a store, ill know more about the product im interested in then whoever is trying to sell it, lego, electronics, games, whatever.

It recently occurred to me that swingarms no longer have the width/height different found on bricks/studded technic (yeah, that took a while, helps that the transition was made in my dark ages and i only recently dug out my old technic), that alone for me is a reason to prefer studless technic. Also, technic models dont need studs anywhere, studless gives it all a much cleaner look, and it fits the fairing panels much better as well

Hi guys, just want to show of my modded 42039: Rest of the pictures can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/QvpfH I went for an Octan inspired color scheme, and tried to match the looks (especially the nose and rear) of the toyota TS040, since i feel the lego model is closest to that car standard.

That's the one, i have the lego set

In the OT, the imperial dropship and the lambda class shuttle look really similar from certain angles, and the TIEs all looks pretty similar too, from certain angles it is nearly impossible to tell an interceptor from a tie advanced, or the tie advanced from a bomber. It makes sense to design ships in similar ways to create a coherent look for a faction. the point that sticks out for me in favor of the two ships theory is the bottom wings on the lego model, the V ship in the teaser has nothing of the sort, so unless they are folded REALLY flat on to the bottom (which the lego model doesnt do, not even close) that would be a pretty fundamental difference. I agree that we'll only know for sure in december though, and i think some people here are just hoping it are two different ships so the lego set isnt a bomb, im not planning on getting it myself, but it'd suck if they do a bunch of inaccurate sets.

If they end up doing a big tractor i dont know what kind of wheels they'll end up using, so either they go all out and make new BIG wheels for pretty much just that set, or they use existing big wheels and make it a medium sized set like the fire plane or formula off-road. (come to think of it, formula off road + big rear wheels and heightening of the chassis/cabin is pretty tractor like) Id love for the IP car to be a big, im loving my 24h hour car currently, but modding that wont last forever, so getting a new cool car next year would be perfect.

Your Best Technic Bargains
Vectormatic replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
picked up 42032 tracked loader for less then €8 this weekend Not the most interesting build, and doesnt match my interests in technic, but at that price it makes a marvelous parts pack -

So far just my hands and other lego pieces (discovered yesterday that an easy way to push out an axle from a hard to reach place is to put an axle pin in a lift-arm for a very good tool) As for dusting, i bought a can of compressed air to clean out a laptop a while back, turns out its awesome for lego-dusting too (or inflating a bike tire when your pump is shitty and the valve wont cooperate), they are expensive though, so i plan to get a smallish compressor sometime soon -
Yesterday i walked into a drugstore (kruidvat, for the dutch guys here), turns out they have 40% off all toys this weekend. Now they also sell lego, and well below MSRP to begin with, so i had some nice deals. Their range is only small sets, so nothingreally big, but i walked away with 7 sets (s@h value €95) for only €45 I picked up 60084 (the racing motorcycle transporter) and the technic tracked loader, along with some friends and junior stuff for my oldest daughter, and a duplo set for the youngest. And on top of that i received my big bricklink order with loads of red technic liftarms and panels, so ill spend today improving my 24 hour race race car further Tis a good weekend!

If you check out the second official teaser video, there is a shot where this TIE is shooting up a hangar bay, if you look closely at the TIE it is easy to see that you arent looking at the front of a TIE fighter, so there really is a rear-facing crewman opperating those guns. Not sure where the engines have been moved to, but the rear cockpit on the lego model seems very accurate to me
