  1. That would be awesome, but I wonder if it would limit the options in terms of building style. We would need the buildings to have very similar layouts (for stairs), and the style of construction couldn't vary much, or it would look mismatched. The wait for November is going to be so long!
  2. This is kind of the shape I am expecting to see now. It allows for a "square" but doesn't prevent it from fitting in. It even matches up to what I always considered a ridiculous rumour - the "inverted corner" I do wonder if you can actually fit all that, at the correct scale, onto 2 32x32 baseplates though. I feel like each of the buildings you have suggested would be a 16x32 baseplate or larger.
  3. My issue isn't that the figs wouldn't use Lego, but more that the Modular buildings are supposed to be set in the early 20th century, which a Lego store doesn't fit in with.
  4. Very interesting. I wonder if it works kind of like the Minecraft Fortress.
  5. This would be interesting. The modular could sit at the back of the plate to allow for the square in front. I would just hope it isn't too much like the Town Hall set, because the image that comes to mind for me as a stereotypical courthouse is the one from Back to the Future. In Europe they are either much more majestic, to the extent it wouldn't fit in with the street we have, or very generic buildings, so I would imagine a US style is more likely.
  6. The problem with "a way to bring all the modular buildings together" is that it could be of very limited appeal. If people don't display their modulars in the exact way that the "assembly square" intends, it'll be useless. Most people either have their own custom city layout, or display them on shelves. In both cases a central plaza, as has been suggested, would not work out without customisation.
  7. Definitely not a department store, due to the GE. I'm almost as sure it wouldn't be a hotel because of CC. It may be empty on the inside, but it is a hotel. Considering how limited the releases are, Lego wouldn't waste a year on a repeated building type. It's not like City where we can have a new police station every year.
  8. People say that often, but you forget that it takes a long time to design and release a Lego set. They won't approve an Ideas set if they're planning something similar. Why give money to someone for coming up with an idea that is already happening anyway? Plus they're clear on that sets based on existing licenses / themes are not going to happen.
  9. The idea of a hospital was a wishlist item that went out of control. Seems like we are gradually getting more information that confirms the rumours.
  10. Except, in this case, the Brick Bank is still clearly visible just above that image. This seems more along the lines of showing off the BB, and then informing people of the other available buildings.
  11. That's where the original name came from, and they were also modular in the sense that they could be combined into a larger street. However the Fishing Store is neither of those. It is one large building (the back comes off) and it doesn't connect.
  12. It's not a "modular design" because it doesn't conform the designs of the modular buildings. It does not, be default, slot into the street currently created by the existing modular buildings. Isn't Just2good basing that off the same "leaked" image as the rest of us? I rarely see him come out with fresh information. He seems to just report on the news and leaks that are posted around the internet, and helps them become more widely known about.
  13. So is the Yoda's Hut and that is now 100% not happening.
  14. I don;t see how a Sunday makes any difference. January 1st is a bank holiday and they release sets then. What difference does it being a Sunday make?
  15. What I would really love to see is both rumours turn out true - a £170 set released as normal in January, and then a 10th anniversary set later in the year. Perhaps around April since that is when the original modular was released.
  16. As much as I think it's fake, why does everyone assume this is in dollars? Don't American's use the term MSRP instead of RRP? Why wouldn't it be a Kroner? TLG is not a US centred company
  17. If the correct image is available to the person faking it, then really should have been available to someone working for Lego. As for why a person faking it would use that image; it could be a lack of research into it and the fact that it is the first result on Google.
  18. Brickset has listed sets with an incorrect name before. All the brickset listing (potentially) confirms is the set number itself. And the set number is just a logical progression from previous sets. I personally find a £170 modular more likely than a £300+ one. The idea of the modulars is that they are all compatible and interchangeable. Suddenly creating one with a different size and base shape seems odd. Just look at the Ghostbusters HQ next to a modular, it doesn't look right
  19. Thatfezguy over on reddit claims to have recently been a Lego employee. Supposedly he looked at the system and the first Creator release of 2017 will be £170. That works out at around 1500 Kr, so would disagree with the Asembly rumour unless there is an additional release next year. Obviously this is just random guy with a random bit of information, but thought I would share just in case it pans out.
  20. Why would an internal presentation not use the most up to date images and material? If anything the lack of BB is what makes me think is isn't an internal document.
  21. What evidence do you have that it isn't fake? We're all going to discuss the possibilities as if it is real, but it wouldn't be that hard to fake. The image of PC, PR and DO is the first result when I googled "Lego modular", and I do find it odd that the "10th anniversary announcement" document doesn't show the most recent set. The only thing on that document that would take more than 30 seconds to create is the logo, and even that wouldn't take very long.
  22. Wednesday 4th January 2017. Seems a perfectly good date to me.
  23. Yes, I figured that out when I googled it. Some reviews had mistakenly used the wrong number. I do still find it odd, we've never had such clear screenshots of (what I assume) is an internal document before.
  24. The problem with a "city square" type centre is that the modulars don't form a square in that way. They can form a block with space behind, not in front. The biggest giveaway certainly seems to be the use of a prior existing code. Doubtful it would be used again! Edit: nevermind. Acalade was mistaken (presumably due to erroneous google results)
