  1. Plus, the set is only 12.4 cents per piece. It's hardly the worst PPP ratio in a Lego set, and it actually fairly common these days.
  2. It's incredibly vague https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/in-store-events
  3. The only place I know of it being sold is Hamley's in London. They're charging something absurd like £10 for it. Hence why I'm hoping it's being used at the giveaway event. Edit: @Whovastron I doubt the Entertainer would take them. They don't stock any Harry Potter.
  4. I can work with that. They have a free Harry Potter thing this weekend. I might go along just in case they have some details. I assume the freebie is Journey to Hogwarts.
  5. Is that something officially announced? If so, do you know when they'll have them? I'm hoping to find some info about a UK release soon.
  6. They hadn't even begun filming when that set came out. It was a comic-based set like the Iron Man / Agent Coulson set.
  7. I doubt it would just be @Legoniche who wouldn't want to send one to you after the way you spoke about the set designer. Someone who went through the long and difficult process of getting a job with Lego isn't just someone who won a "TV competition". 71043 is a great display piece and looks amazing on display. Again, just because you don't like it doesn't mean you're right or in the majority. It just sounds like you're bitter because Lego didn't produce exactly what you wanted, when it's actually what a lot of other people wanted. I don't want a Snowspeeder UCS set, but I'm not going to get angry about its existence because Lego didn't make the set I wanted. How do you know they won't make a Gryffindor common room? This is, as far as we know, an ongoing theme. Just because it wasn't in the first wave doesn't mean it isn't coming.
  8. What's wrong with magnets? I'm pretty sure the MBS is like UCS but for the playset-style sets. UCS for display models MBS for big playsets
  9. There was a rumour of it being available with a $/£20 purchase each week. Not sure if it's reliable though. I really hope it is the case. The one hope is that the boxes seen on Reddit don't have the TRU logo anymore. This hopefully means a different method of distribution in some countries.
  10. It's not even out yet. How would you be able to buy it on sale? It's a D2C set, so it will be an exclusive to the Lego store for some time. If you're that worried about the price, wait for double points and you'll get an extra €17.50 worth of points for it. That's better than nothing.
  11. I think my biggest disappointment in the set is that it looks quite cluttered to have the carbonite chamber right next to the platform Luke and Vader duel on. I think it would have been better positioned where the big empty space is at the back, with the area currently used for the carbonite chamber being used to represent the fairly iconic triangular corridors. With the set rearranged like that, they may have been able to better represent the area the window was blasted out from, and the carbonite chamber being next to the torture room would flow quite nicely for the playset.
  12. The most baffling complaint is people saying it's as disjointed as Assault on Hoth. It is literally all combined and connected through a series of corridors and doorways. Hoth was a handful of completely unattached parts. This is the opposite of disjointed. Especially if you look at it as 4 sections in the way it is described. The dining room / corridor in particular look great. I do wonder if you can separate the 4 segments by removing the top bracket. I would find it much easier to display if the scenes could be removed.
  13. You're working too hard on insulting names for sets. "Betrayfail" doesn't work at all. Just call it "Fail at Cloud City" if you don't like it. As far as I'm concerned, they're the same thing. High-end Star Wars sets. This new category hopefully just means we'll have a bit of notice in advance if we're expecting a playset or display set for an upcoming release.
  14. People are certainly reading a lot into whether it's UCS or Master Builder Series. To me, it just looks like LEGO has made a bit of a clarification. Large models of ships are UCS, large playsets are Master Builder Series. Other than that, we're in a position that's no different from before. The terms may as well be interchangeable as long as we know what we're talking about. For example, when someone said they always include exclusive minifigs in a UCS set, why wouldn't that rule also apply to these MBS sets?
  15. The old, flat hair looks much closer to the actual carbonite block than the new hair piece though.
  16. I'd say it looks "fine". It's not the greatest ever, but it's still a pretty good set. I think the only real ways to improve it would for it to be larger, which isn't a realistic expectation. It looks more "finished" than the Death Star, since it lacks the rough edges of the Lego attempt at a sphere.
  17. A Belgian (I think) site stated there would be an announcement in 12 minutes. Presumably they were informed in advance about the press release.
  18. I must say that, with only an hour to go, I am impressed at the lack of leaked images. Normally announcement day begins with a flood of images several hours before the embargo time.
  19. It's a shame the license hasn't gone anywhere recently. They could have easily made a range of vehicles with exclusive minifigs. Either Speed Champions scale or Mighty Micros scale.
  20. Could you give us a few specifics about the way it's laid out?
  21. It may be to preempt leaks. If there's cause for concern that a leaked image is about to get out, why not trump it by making the official announcement a bit earlier?
  22. People over on Reddit have made claims about it being $350 and 2500 parts. No idea what their sources are, but figured people might find it interesting. I guess we can just wait 15 hours and we'll know for sure. If it's anything like other press-release days, someone will end up leaking images a few hours early so we might even know by lunch time.
  23. You guessed it would have an interior. Almost everything else you guessed was wrong: No transfiguration classroom No "removable rock sections" No greenhouses No Slytherin common room One of your predictions was that the largest tower of the castle would be the largest tower in the set. Guessing one thing correctly out of a whole list of things doesn't make you all-knowing. You don't know that there is a D2C micro-scale Diagon Alley coming. You just think there is one. What proof is it that the blurry image looks like the WB Studios? We know it's a build of Diagon Alley, that doesn't mean that specifically is the set that will eventually come out (if at all). All throughout the video we can see part-builds of the prototype sets.
  24. Is this your assumption or an actual fact?
