Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Someone posted what looks like the official Lego image for the set over on Reddit. It's pretty good quality. -

They can just use a transparent globe. They're designed to fit around a minifig head anyway, so it would work perfectly. -

I'm not a huge fan of the jetpack from the back, but it does bulk out the armour easily and looks alright from the front. Having said that, I wonder if they could have used the part from set 76048 with a print added for the details. -

Tbh I'm going to trust the people who have given us reliable information in the past. Plus, I can think of at least 5 Lego Movie 2 polybags off the top of my head. It wouldn't be unreasonable to see a large number for what is one of the biggest superhero films ever made. -

You're forgetting the other option 4. Tony Stark rebuilds his old suits to put on display / as a show of legacy It wouldn't be surprising since the Mk 2 was converted into the War Machine Mk1. The Mk3 was pretty much completely destroyed. The Mk5 was badly damaged by Whiplash. The Mk6 was damaged by both the Helicarrier and Loki's army. The Mk7 was pretty badly damaged during the battle for New York. All of these suits are shown on display in Iron Man 3, so it's quite clear that Tony has a tendency to rebuild his suits, even if it is just for display purposes. It seems collecting the suits became the hobby that replaced collecting cars. -

What makes you think Disney has any say in the budget? Lego pays for a license and they design all the sets. Disney get a final say on products, but they don't dictate whether or not Lego can use dual moulding etc. What Disney can likely be blamed for is how much they charge for the license. If they want a higher percentage of the set value, then there is less money available for printing / dual moulding, but they aren't directly responsible for the decision not to use it. The reason Disney IPs don't exist in Dimensions is because it was a competing product to their own game being developed by a rival company (WB). -

Ant-Man seems to have a flesh coloured neck, which means his whole head is flesh coloured. The slight grey-ness of it is probably just down to a lack of light getting into the helmet. -

Tbh, my biggest disappointment about the reused torsos for the Avengers has nothing to do with Lego, it's down to Marvel. It's the fact that the heads don't suit the torsos. Iron Man looks weird with a red/gold helmet with a white suit. Same for Captain America with the blue helmet. I wish the whole character design suited the uniforms. For example, Iron Man would look so much better with the white/gold helmet from the space variant. As it is, it looks like a kid put the wrong head on the minifig. -

I find it odd that people are assuming Rocket would have different printing. If every other minifig uses an identical torso, presumably he'd have the same torso but with short legs. -
This is the one thing I wasn't keen on during the build. The technique was great, but when positioning the level to get the details in place, I found I often pushed the angled section off. I think it would have been better to build the entire angled wall outside of the modular, then position it when complete. That way it would be firmly attached at the top as soon as it was put in place. I also agree about the quarter circles. I'm not happy about how neatly I've managed to position them, and there's no easy way to get them all straight.

I always get them on day 1. Get there a short while before the store opens and you shouldn't have any trouble. One year I arrived at the shopping centre just before opening, stopped to have breakfast and got to the store about 10 minutes after opening and the shelves were nearly empty (they had a few more out the back, but not loads). I definitely recommend arriving before they actually open.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Something along the lines of this is certainly possible based on that description: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5852/Berth/corner-service-station/#comments -

The video was saying they would talk about the new modular on next week's episode. Not that Lego are announcing next weekend. -

That wouldn't prevent a leak. All the same marketing materials and information would be sent to stores whether it's a new product or not. In fact, I think a re-release is more likely to end up leaking, as it would be considered a big deal. Tbh I'm not sure why so many people are expecting a re-release. Yes, some sets have had re-releases or updates, but at this time there is no hint that the same treatment will be offered for the modular theme. In fact, there aren't even that many re-releases (off the top of my head). The Winter Toy Shop was released due to the alternative being no Christmas set. The Vestas Wind Turbine was never released to the public. The UCS Falcon is more an update than a re-release and the Death Star was an update to include more recent pieces and refresh the price for a very long-running set. The only true re-release I can think of is the Taj Mahal. -

This definitely has me sold on an older style mechanic with wooden doors rather than rolling doors like those found on the front of the Fire Brigade. -

You're right about that, but as you said, we don't have "diners" in a "downtown", but petrol stations are a global concept. That's why I would assume they'd go for something more generic and less region-specific for the name. It's all irrelevant if the rumours of a mechanic are true. -

Any source on this, or is it that same fake image from last year again? Edit: you'e quoting the fake image from last year. Plus, I doubt they would give the set such a US-oriented name. They would go for something more generic than "gas station" that is recognisable around the world. Outside of North America nobody refers to it as a "gas station". Most of the English speaking world refers to them as "petrol stations" or "service stations". When we move into other languages, it would be even more confusing. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

People seem to be underestimating how popular a police station would be. A modular building would be very different from a city playset. The FB modular has almost no resemblance to any city fire station that has been released. The number of people who would be uninterested because they have made a MOC would be tiny in comparison to the those who would actually want the set. If it is a garage, I'd like they to stick with the early-mid 20th century for any vehicles included. While I know some people don't agree about the setting of each of the modulars, I like the idea that they can all exist in that approximate time period, and it'd be great to get an older style tow-truck. We've had so many modern vehicles from the city range (and a lot of tow vehicles), it would be a nice change to get some retro ones. -

No, it's Asia exclusive Yes, BB and DO. They're listed as such on the Lego website, along with the Ferris Wheel, Big Ben and Tower Bridge. Tbh I would be sceptical about a music-based modular simply because last year was a recording studio. -

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Wild speculation doesn't really mean anything. You could just as easily argue that the Marvel sets sell so well they don't feel the need to put in the additional resources of leg and arm printing. It could be that sales are so good, they can pump out sets for the lowest possible cost and maximise the profits. -
Diagon Alley is advertised on there right now. I quoted the US site's information in my last post.
