I'd highly doubt it. Even with the CMF line branching out more frequently, the series we've had are still massive franchises. The only non-Lego franchises we've had are Disney and Harry Potter (excluding the very limited sports waves). The rest have all tied into the Lego movies (Lego Movie, Lego Batman Movie, Lego Ninjago Movie). Disney and Harry Potter are absolutely huge, and certainly more popular than Overwatch in terms of the merchandising possibilities. Realistically, Overwatch simply isn't popular enough to warrant one of the few CMF slots available. We already know that next year will have a Lego Movie series. I wouldn't expect them to then release a CMF series from an untested and unproven theme.

It's hardly Lego's fault. Toys R Us went out of business and they were stuck with a promotional item they needed to find a new distributor for. It's not as simple as asking a company if they fancy having it, it involves a lot of new contracts and negotiations. We're lucky they've managed to sort anything out at all.

It's not going to be available on Lego.com tonight. Lego Tweeted that it will be available at Barnes and Noble in the US "in the future" (they have not specified when). There's no information about anywhere else outside of the Toys R Us deal.

PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement
nikhkin replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The UCS Falcon, UCS Slave I and UCS Imperial Shuttle are all in minifigure scale. 8097 is undersized compared to minifigures. -
That's a pretty short-sighted excuse, considering Barnes and Noble doesn't have any stores outside of America! If they're saying they will be available in the UK at "some point", when we have no Toys R Us stores or B&N stores, they can hardly use the lack of B&N in Australia as an excuse.

PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement
nikhkin replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is exactly what I was thinking in order to perfect the set. The move of the carbon freezing chamber to the back, so they can have a proper, focused area for the duel is the most important change they could have made. The extra smoothing-out of the shape you've done also helps refine it. I'd even go as far as to say you don't need the rail around the duel section. The whole point of the scene is that Luke is trapped out in the middle of nowhere with, seemingly, nowhere to go. Isolating that section on the build would help to emphasise that. -
PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement

Some people here seem to be forgetting that opinions differ. If you think it is bad, it is entirely subjective. If you like it, it is entirely subjective. Saying people are wrong for liking or not liking it is pointless. People won't buy it just because they buy things no matter what. They will buy it because they like it. It's exactly the same as what happened with the Hogwarts reveal. People were saying it was wrong to like it because they wanted a minifigure-scale castle. If you don't want to get it, fine, but arguing that nobody should be allowed to like it is ridiculous. -
PRESS RELEASE for LEGO 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City Announcement
nikhkin replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It really feels that you can't imagine anyone buying it because you don't like it. You're saying kids don't want it because you think it is messy. A lot of kids aren't looking for the most attractive set in the world, they want something they can play with. Ninjago City looks amazing, but it isn't the most playable set. Cloud City isn't perfect, but it's not as awful as some people are making out. I have a couple of issues with it, and won't be looking to get it myself, but it's not the world's most horrendous set. Pretty much all of my issues would be solved by moving the carbon freezing chamber to the back. The rest of it looks pretty good. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
nikhkin replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Let's not forget that this theme also includes such exciting moments as: Pop to the grocery store to buy some carrots Make sure you get your wedding license at the town hall Time to check into the hotel! This theme can do whatever the designer wants. -
Anyone can put a box on top of another box. As far as I can tell, there was nothing to suggest it was out on display and for sale. We shouldn't be making assumptions based on vague wording or mis-translation of what someone said.

I may be mistaken (I did only skim read the article earlier on), but I don't recall it being said that it was for sale / will be for sale. I thought the wording was that someone had "found it in a Lego store". That doesn't mean it was on the shelf and up for sale, just that it was at the store. It could be a member of staff took the image, having found them in the store room.

But they still get the preliminary information. The Lego set may not be 100% accurate, but they would still be given the information about the new map.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
nikhkin replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's not really, though. I haven't bought the MF. It was a totally new product, not the same one with a slight gimmick. I highly doubt anyone bought a £650 Lego set just to get a couple of vaguely defined freebies. Surely nobody would actually spend that kind of money just because they might get something in future. -

Ah right, so it is a generic response. I do wonder what happened to the scheme. It's not like Lego needed to make a false promise to try and get more day-1 sales of a set, so I assume something went wrong along the way. -
Where did you get that info? It seems like a jump from us only knowing B&N were getting the HP pack at some point in the future. Edit: Lego's response for the UK has been as follows: So it looks like, unfortunately, there aren't any proper plans for the UK yet.

Future Simpsons Lego- Rumours, discussion and wishlisting
nikhkin replied to Legochaek's topic in LEGO Licensed
It only had 2 price points Nearly £200 £1.99 Most themes have a wide range of set prices, with kids buying a large number of the mid-range products. Since it only had the 2 big sets, which take up a fair amount of room, it did have a limited market. I think the theme would have done better if it had included some smaller sets. -

Has anyone actually tried contacting Lego and asking whether there are any more offers / why there haven't been more? I see a lot of people complaining but nobody has ever indicated that they have complained directly to Lego about it. It would be interesting to hear their stance on this, or at least the generic response they send back about it. -

Nope, we're just speculating about it. It would make sense though, because we got a UCS set this year, which was a display model. It's the only evidence we have either way. -
I'm confused about what you want. Hogwarts is miniature and in a somewhat similar scale to this Diagon Alley.

Well, clearly a lot of us were wrong about it. I guess it was much closer to the forefront of the video than it seemed. This looks like it may be "mini modular" in size. I wonder if it is compatible with those sets. I think it may be similar to the Mr Freeze minifigure that came out shortly after the 1966 Batcave. It was technically related to that set, but came out a fair bit later. As a result it was a "when you spend £x" rather than when you bought the Batcave. On the other hand, we have the Winter Soldier polybag, which was free when you bought the Helicarrier. If I recall correctly, that came at the same time as the Helicarrier was released, so you got it free with that set.

There aren't actually any details about them for the US. They are free when you spend 40 Euros in Germany, and have a "value" of 15 Euros. It is not specified whether you can actually just buy them for 15 Euros. Lego has stated the Harry Potter set will be available in B&N, but no further details (or even dates) have been revealed.

I think the number of positive responses is greater than the negative ones. It's just that upset people tend to be a bit louder and outspoken about things, which makes it seem that they are in the majority. Edit: tbh the metric Lego will use to gauge its popularity will be how well it sells. People can complain all the want, but if it sells well it'll still be considered a success.

I wonder if it's because they consider the Junior's sets a different market, so they aren't competing sets. -
As much as I'd hope it is, I doubt it. In Europe it's free with a 40 Euro purchase, not just free.
