  1. As Sariel used to say, if you wait long enough eventually TLG will make the parts that you want.
  2. I think I'm 90 percent done with the B model. There is still one more function to work on, but I need to get a real set to do it. Before then, there is little else I can do on Studio. Possible names: - Mini 42043 - The second coming of 42043 - T-face Mc-T-truck Functions: - Twin drive rear axles - Inline 6 engines - Twin steer front axles with different radii - HOG steering - Tiltable cab - Openable doors - Linked 4 outriggers - Dumping bed - Tail gate lock - Crane slewing - Crane's 1st section raising - Crane's 2nd section raising. This is the unfinished function. I want to go for a foldable knuckle boom like the one on the 8258. The second section requires a design that can translate a 3-unit stroke of the mini linear actuator into a swing motion of approximately 120 degrees. If I can't figure out, I'll go with the straight boom like the one on 42043. - Crane's 3rd section extending - Winch Essentially all the cool functions of 42043, minus the suspension, motorization, and pneumatics. The lack of pneumatics is both a good thing and maybe a bad thing. It's a good thing because if you want to buy this set only for the pneumatics, you can use the remaining parts to build something nice. It's maybe a bad thing because the 42043 has pneumatics and this model doesn't. The reason for no pneumatic is simply that there's no space. All the niceties details from of 42043 are replicated: - Modular build - Side mirrors - Additional two mirrors on passenger's side - Horns - Antenna - Hazard lights - Aerodynamic roof fairing - Wheel chocks - Tow hitch in the rear And additional niceties - Screen wipers - 3 pedals under the steering wheel with different shapes - Aircon slits on dashboard - Cup holders on dashboard - Adjustable arm rests on chair - Adjustable back rests on chair - Adjustable head rests on chair - Bed with pillow and blanket - Table and drawing under the bed - Overhead shelf - Fuel tanks - Oil filters Are you interested now
  3. Aaand Grohl has started working on the B model for this set.
  4. The 5x11 panel in the hood has two rows of beam on each side, so how about giving it one row only?
  5. Is there truly no way to secure the front fenders? One of the core component of the current Technic build is form lock and structural integrity, so it only makes sense to secure them as well. I really really want to build this one, but the thought of the front fenders flapping in and out while I'm pushing this thing around gives me gripes.
  6. T-face McT-truck, coming Soonâ„¢ to a Rebricakable near you.
  7. Build yourself one: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-83101/nguyengiangoc/42113-maiden-flight-version/
  8. Attika's fix makes me wonder why the designer didn't go for the 7x11 frame from the beginning.
  9. My model has a full-sized dumping box with a consistent color scheme. Just so you wait.
  10. The B model I'm designing for this set will be the 42043 on a smaller scale and in this color scheme: It will have all the bells and whistles that 42043 has, and then some more (for example, screen wipers). I don't want to share the model yet, so I'm just gonna tease the information here. Thank you @Void_S for the Studio file.
  11. And the infamous hood continues to pop... I guess we can say that when this thing was first revealed, almost no one detects the problem under the hood. #pun
  12. Is there anyone that attempts a remake of the classic mobile crane 8460?
  13. What if the orange one is the preliminary version like the 6x6 Zetros, and the blue one is the actual product
  14. The dark blue one looks a lot lot better
  15. I do think it'll be complicated. The set has 9 11L alternating hole beams. 1 is used in the front axle, 2 are used on the sides, and 6 are used in the rear axle. The first three are easily replaceable, but the last one will need a major redesign of the rear axle.
  16. @Maaboo35 I think the term you used yesterday in the Part discussion thread is more appropriate here
  17. What does the text that points into the Ocean Explorer say? Can anyone figure out? Since the model in the column for Milan is his first official model, at first I thought the Ocean Explorer is Luke Cragin's first set as well. But that doesn't make sense, because he joined TLG in 2019, while the set was released in 2017.
  18. The name is Zetros, and it is associated with mobile homes, so upon this base, I'll build my expedition truck This mod is a low budget version. I removed all the motors, removed the differential lock structures, simplified the axles design, and gave it a good ole HOG. As a result it has no need for the new 11L alternating beams. I tried to put a fake engine under the hood, but there is simply no space, and I bumped into constraints everywhere. It was not until I started trying to put the engine did I realize it needs a vertical space of 6 studs (3 for the 2L liftarm rotation, 3 for the 3L axles). If I put it in the lowest possible position, it will interfere with the front suspension. So I scrapped that idea. The model still has a 4x4 drive train with a center differential, but that's it. I'll put this thing on rebrickable as soon as 42129 is listed. In this state it has 1755 parts, and the preliminary price Studio gives me is 255 USD already.
  19. I managed to squeeze the servo in. But putting a drive train and a small inline 6 under the hood is nightmarish. I spent two days trying to do that and bumped in to constraints everywhere. In the end I just decided to ditch the attempt.
  20. @johnnym Thanks for the information! I've updated the first post.
  21. I do like the set! I've always wanted a proper Ford pickup.
  22. The constant hood popping must be frustrating.
