  1. I had a mod with balloon tires that you can try https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84984/nguyengiangoc/42129-pf-conversion-l-motor-steer/
  2. @efferman Where can I get those awesome rims and tires that you put on the Zetros?
  3. Reject smart motors, return to PF
  4. Worry not! All of the designs involve L motors have built-in safety features: - In the 42109 L motor steer, the L motor goes through a pair of 8:24 clutch. - In the 42124 L motor steer, the L motor is connected to a friction pin which is connected to the steering rack. - In the 42129 L motor steer, the L motor is connected to a friction pin which is connected to the 12z gear. Mine also ends there. I have no liking for C+.
  5. 42129 PF Mods: - L-motor steer: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84984/nguyengiangoc/42129-pf-conversion-l-motor-steer/ - Servo-motor steer: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-85004/nguyengiangoc/42129-pf-conversion-servo-motor-steer/#details
  6. 42124 mods are added! - L-motor steer: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84954/nguyengiangoc/42124-pf-conversion-l-motor-steer/ - Servo-motor steer: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84955/nguyengiangoc/42124-pf-conversion-servo-motor-steer/
  7. Bloody hell I thought there are new candies.... Nothing to see here people.
  8. I've added my two free PF mods for 42109: - L-motor steer: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84883/nguyengiangoc/42109-pf-conversion-l-motor-steer/ - Servo-motor steer: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84884/nguyengiangoc/42109-pf-conversion-servo-motor-steer/
  9. Yes, the model turns out to be more restrictive than it appeared at first. I wanted to save the parts for the cabin interiors, the crane, and the bed, so I just went for some generic truck front, and incorporated a number of design choices from the 42098 cabin.
  10. I proposed a deal to buy a 42129 with no electronics for 150 EUR and 42128 with no pneumatics for 80 EUR, and it was accepted by a vendor. I need a 42128 with no pneumatics just to build my B model.
  11. It doesn't, but a pump and a valve do . Especially the pump. As you can see from all angles there's no space for it. Besides, the crane doesn't have a 11 stud space for a cylinder. Of course I can do a straight boom crane like the one in the original 42043, but that wouldn't be challenging enough for my taste. Designing a mechanical side-fold knuckle boom is a much much harder task that I struggled with, but I solved it eventually, and enjoyed that journey.
  12. Miss out on the 42043? Don't wanna spend 400$ on a new one? Have no regret. The second coming of 42043 is here. Spend 150$ on a new 42128, and build yourself a smaller version of 42043 with all the functions and details faithfully replicated. Better yet, sell all the pneumatics to recoup the cost! Functions: - Twin drive rear axles - Inline 6 engines - Twin steer front axles with different radii - HOG steering - Cabin tilting - Openable doors - Linked 4 outriggers - Dumping bed - Openable and lockable tail gate - Crane slewing - Crane's 1st section raising - Crane's 2nd section raising - Crane's 3rd section extending - Winch Essentially all the cool functions of 42043, minus the suspension, motorization, and pneumatics. The lack of pneumatics is both a good thing and maybe a bad thing. It's a good thing because if you want to buy this set only for the pneumatics, you can use the remaining parts to build something nice. It's maybe a bad thing because the 42043 has pneumatics and this model doesn't. The reason for no pneumatic is simply that there's no space. All the details from of 42043 are replicated: - Modular build - Side mirrors - Additional two mirrors on passenger's side - Horns - Antenna - Hazard lights - Aerodynamic roof fairing - Wheel chocks - Tow hitch in the rear And additional niceties: - Screen wipers - 3 pedals under the steering wheel with different shapes - Aircon slits on dashboard - Cup holders on dashboard - Adjustable arm rests on chair - Adjustable back rests on chair - Adjustable head rests on chair - Bed with pillow and blanket - Table and drawer under the bed - Overhead shelf - Fuel tanks - Oil filters - Cabin prop bar Instruction: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-84354/nguyengiangoc/42128-b-model-t-face-mc-t-truck/
  13. 42128 B (with bed removed) vs 8258. 8285 is in the inspiration behind the side-fold knuckle boom and the outriggers. 42128 B vs 42043. 42043 is the inspiration for everything else.
  14. The last thing to do is to test build the instruction using the actual set. I ordered it 2 days ago already, but it still hasn't arrived. In the mean time I'll take a break and follow up with a C model, which is none other than: Now that the foundation has been laid, working on the next model should be easier.
  15. The design of the B model is done. I managed to get the 3rd section to fold neatly into the tight space.
  16. To put it in a fancy term, do a Tenet's Time Inversion
