  1. I'm surprised no one has asked these: - What happened to 42051? - What happened to 42067? - What determines color choice? Why the unusual color for 41999, 42039, 42066, 42069, 42070 - Why do the instructions from 2016 has a lighter blue for background?
  2. You can expect a 20-30 EUR discount for model like this on amazon.de

This model also has a unique impression on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of LEGO Technic. This LEGO Technic model is specially designed for an exciting and enjoyable construction process. • Intended for indoor use only. 2-in-1 model: can be converted into a mobile research base. The vehicle for extreme adventures (with the roof rack and open the doors) is about 30 cm high, 44 cm long and 25 cm wide, and approximately 26 cm high and 24 cm wide with folded-in tent and closed doors. The mobile research base is about 19 cm tall, 47 cm long and 20 cm wide. MOBILE RESEACH BASE! I'm getting two of this!!
  4. Interview with Technic designers about Porsche and BMW. It shows some prelim BMW B-model prototype.
  5. I spotted two soft springs behind the seats in 42069 https://www.dropbox.com/s/twkxlajwr9h5ang/Screenshot 2017-05-07 18.30.45.png?dl=0 Any idea what this has to do with the adjustable roof function? According to the sticker, only the rear part of the roof goes up and results in a slope.
  6. I'd rather ditch the turntable for a tow fork.
  7. Erm probably because it has two switches?
  8. For the 42070, both the winch and the LA are driven by the M-motor, so I think it doesn't have much lifting power. I find it unusual that the XL motor powers the turntable and not the winch nor the LA.
  9. Holy Grail: 41999 & 8258. I'm not so keen on 8258 A model because I already have 42043 and I consider 42043 a vastly superior model, but I'm really fond of 8258 B model. The pickup truck has an accurate look and very well covered with panels, even by today's standard. Dream: Still waiting for a PF forklift, a PF or Pneumatics Garbage Dump Truck, a properly paneled reach stacker, a 42009 with a better appearance. Also looking for a bucket chain excavator, a dragline excavator, and a power front shovel excavator. Regret: Nothing yet.
  10. - For 42069, how come 130 EUR translates into 179.99 USD? - For 42070, I don't really understand why tow truck needs linear actuators for cranes. It's not like they need to lift things into great height, they just need to pull vehicles, and winches are enough for that?
  11. Well, the name already says "Silage Plow", not "Snow Plow". Silage is fermented hay.
  12. I spot a 3x7 curved panel in DBG under the fender of 42069.
  13. Milan is really a bloody genius! Also, @Void_S, don't forget that 42069 also has Ackerman steering!
  14. On another note, I built the 42065 B model yesterday. Guess what the surprise was? It used every single piece of the A model. No spare parts. Is it the first Technic model to achieve this?
  15. 42069 may probably be his largest set to date, considering that its piece count may be larger than that of 42052 (1042), his current largest set. I wouldn't be surprised if the car chassis is his design. His specialty is coming up with a model with a fixed array of pieces. Like, literally give him a box and he'll come up with the required model in some way.
  16. It's even more meh when you have a set with a price near the Porsche's price and a piece count 2/3 of the Porsche's piece count
  17. Well it's supposed to look wrong because if it looks right then it's not an "Air Race Jet". But here's a problem I encountered with the VTOL function. When I manually push the linkages to open the hatch, the nozzle only goes down about 45 degrees. In order for the nozzle to go completely perpendicular then some liftarms seem stretched. When I motorize it then the nozzle goes down perpendicular again. I've checked my build several times to ensure that no mistakes were made. Is it the same for other's models? If so then woul the VTOL function bend some liftarms or axles?
  18. Well since ihe yellow liftarm snapped out I don't think you can claim for sure that it connects to nothing besides that piece.
  19. I've just finished this set yesterday. The biggest WOW factor in this model is that it's totally swooshable. Other recent large aircrafts like 9396, 42025, 42052, are totally not swooshable because they don't have spaces at the bottom to grab comfortably. This set has two gaps at the sides for the wheels to tuck in, and some more gaps in front of the tucked wheels to grab. And it looks really cool. I don't really mind the slightly unrealistic look. Since it's meant to be a generic model, it's supposed to not look like any particular jet at all. If it did TLG would get a cease-and-desist notice immediately.
  20. Removing the 5L beams may lead to another problem, which is that there's nothing to push the rock bricks against the gravity to go up to the tray. So you'll get the situation that some bricks keep falling down to the bucket wheel end of the conveyor belt.
  21. @Catalinanmb If you tilt the model slightly to the back, so that the battery box is at the same height or lower than the bucket wheel, you'll get that a lot.
  22. @deehtha The yellow liftarm is connected to a pin that is connected to this piece
  23. @Bartybum I haven't thought of that yet until you mentioned it. I think it could work.
  24. I found a 4K resolution pic of the Extreme Adventure 42069, and it reveals 3 things: - It has Ackerman steering! The rack is offset by 1 stud inside, not connected directly to the front wheel. - The suspensions in the rear wheels use similar pieces as suspensions in front wheel of MB Arocs. - The lowered suspension the in rear wheel isn't adjustable suspension. It's just thatthe piece holding the suspension snapped out. Pic: http://d1re64py91r9s9.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/18213707/img_0072.jpg
