  1. What are the differences between live and independent suspensions?
  2. By "work" do you mean doing a paid full time job or sth else? What kind of company would make employees work 12 hours a day...
  3. Could it be that TLG set 42070 price that high in order to push sales for Porsche *gasp*
  4. What taboo have you just uttered?!! You're supposed to join the bandwagon and decry the lack of [insert desired function here] ! /sarcasm
  5. Given the limited space I think the best way to mod this set, like Sariel said, is to get rid of the gearbox altogether and install each motor for each function ~~ If TLG had made this set like that I wouldn't hesitate to pay the current price
  6. "movable" here is synonymous with "knockable" is it not
  7. Not everything beautiful in life can be seen, just as not every beautiful Lego Technic set can have Power Function
  8. Yeah so instead of referring to the "left" side and "right" side of the model and causing confusion they can just call it "red" side and "grey" side. Similar to the "starboard" and "port" side on a ship I guess.
  9. I think color coding the two sides makes it easier for technical support to debug and troubleshoot.
  10. I'll do some nerdy gear reduction ratio: Drive: 20/28 x 8/24 = 5/21 = 0.23 Steer: 16/20 x 8/24 x 12/20 = 4/25 = 0.16 Rotation: 20/24 x 16/20 x 1/24 x 20/60 = 1/108 = 0.009 Outriggers: 1/1 = 1 LA: 16/20 x 16/20 x 12/20 x 12/20 = 144/625 = 0.2304 Winch: 16/20 x 16/20 x 8/24 x 12/24 = 8/75 = 0.106
  11. I don't play around with models much so the limited playability isn't much of an issue for me. I think I'll still get it just for the sake of having a big bad good-looking and fairly realistic tow truck in my collection. The most recent tow truck before this is 42008 and it's abysmal to me. About the structure, it's quite unusual to see an XL motor connected only through the front pin holes. This from Uwe Wabra, who properly secures the side holes of XL motors in his other creations that use this type of motor, namely 8258 and 42030. I would venture for a guess that he has to keep the weight of the model to minimum.
  12. XL: Drive, Outriggers, Rotation M: Steer, LA, Winch
  13. I laughed so hard for this. Too much salt. And btw: Error 404. Movable lights not found.
  14. 42069 still has a mystery: the lever between the two seats. According to the part list there's no gear shifting element, and there's only 1 red clutch gear whose usage is already figured out, so I guess that lever is a dummy. I was hoping it to be some kinda gear changing though...
  15. 4 for all wheel drive, 2 for the HOG, 2 to connect two differentials to the center, 2 to connect the HOG to the front wheels.
  16. @Jim How are the tools in the toolkit (#6103444) in the 42068 packaged? Are the tools in a small bags or are they scattered around like other pieces?
  17. Last year's flagship isn't the most expensive either
  18. Talking about sets, there's another clip about 42070. It shows the other side and shows where the steering gear is. It's rare to see the steering gear is placed off the center to the left.
  19. Refreshing Sariel's channel every 5 mintues...
  20. Pickup line: Do you have a Lego minifig teddy bear? 'Cause I have a 1/2 Technic pin!
  21. So from left to right, we have 42066, 42050, 42070, 42042, and 42064 / 41999. Maybe one day we'll have a set like Gali Uniter in Bionicle 2016, in which there are Blue, Dark Azure, and Trans Blue...
  22. Will he end up being banned like CM4SCi...
  23. @schraubedrin It's funny how the 3 sets you included are all official flagships and 42069 can only be an unofficial one.
