Looks great! Are you using premade light kits or did you do them yourself? I've been thinking of attempting to light my village as well but its a daunting task. It will be interesting just finding space for new buildings this year. Heres last years village

I think the one commonly referenced in this thread is from 2014 by Swan Dutchman. Mainly people are poking fun at TLG - insinuating that they intentionally don't approve sets so they can simply steal the idea and come out with it later. I think most people understand this is not the reality but its fun to throw on our tin foil hats sometimes.

I don't think we can assume we are getting a large carousel just because the creator expert one is going out of production. (although it sounds like it would be cool) Did the store employee actually say that its a carousel? As far as I know the employees often don't know anymore than we do, many time less

I think an open back gingerbread house is still a possibility. I would likely require a departure from the classic gingerbread house and be something more elaborate. I'm thinking something with multiple stories kind of like a small doll house

Totally in the 'wait and see' camp now. I've purchased the WV set every year (including the toy store re-release) so this year won't be any different. Space is really becoming an issue in my display so if we indeed get a gingerbread house I might move Santa's workshop out of the village and create a second display that is more fantasy based. I suppose it really just depends on the size and scale of it all

I'll be waiting to see if the WV is ski related or not as well. Assuming its not, I plan to adapt the new City ski set (60203). It will need a little bit of altering and probably some recoloring to fit the WV line but I think its workable. In regards to re-releasing sets, I'm all in favor of it because the secondary market is crazy expensive. I just would like to see them re-release a set along side a new one each year. I'm sure its probably cost prohibitive for Lego to do that but it would keep long time collectors happy and allow for new collectors to get some of the older sets.

Very true. I suppose the only difference is that for SDCC they get a lot of hype and exposure from those exclusives. Even though a large portion of Lego fans don't like this its still a net gain for Lego. WV obviously doesn't get that kind of attention so re-releasing a set only stands to come with less sales for that year. That's at least my theory on it.

I would be surprised. I think TLG got a lot of bad feedback when the re-released the toy shop. Would be a shame if this was the case for the 10th anniversary. Plus I think the rumored piece count wouldn't line up with a bakery

If we end up with a larger scale ginger bread house my plan is to move the small one to work with Santa's workshop and the large one would become part of the WV Fairgrounds (This is what I call the area with the carousel and food stalls) I'm curious how anyone else here would work a larger gingerbread house into their display
